Service Tag #*-595

Hi, I am having a problem with a notebook dell studio 1535. when starting, get a mensje that says: This computer system, # ******* - 595B, is protected by a password authentication system. You can not access the data on this computer whithout the correct password.
It would appear that the message is hard disk lock, but when connected to another computer I can access my data, I mean that is not locked the disk.
What would remain to be password bios, but because it comes off as service tag # ******* - 595b? if the bottom cover of the notebook contained 4CMXWG1 Service Tag and express service code 9471256705. The error asterisks makes me think that the bios has a problem because no change was made immediately before leaving this error. From one day to another failure and leaves no longer start Windows.
Anyone have any idea that might be happening? no way to flash or update the bios without either from the application in Windows? From already thank you very much, I will be attentive to any response.

You will need to place a phone call from voice of Dell support.  Be prepared to check the details of your property.

Hi, I bought my dell inspiron 1501 second hand with windows vista premium oem dell.

the seller told me that the serial number on the base of the laptop was vista cd key.

I now have a message asking me to validate windows cd key I enter the service number, but it says its wrong help please thank you Alf.

The service tag only identifies the computer to Dell. It is not identical to the Vista CD key.

There should be a sticker on the bottom of the laptop with the Vista CD key, which consists of five groups of five characters each.

  • How do I know what motherboard I have service tag

I have a number of computers dell, optiplex 380. 780 and 7 optiplex 760 upgrade the processor with four cores, if possible, but I find that each model has 2 motherboard ' possibilities, how do find out what motherboard, I have the service tag, and if they can take the quad cores. As I understand it a motherboard can take single core dual cpu and motherboard, it is possible to upgrade to a quad core cpu

There is no such thing as serial number based on the motherboard.  Serial numbers are unique.

SFF and USFF power supplies tend to be too small.

The NDP or DELL of the Board part NUMBER is on THE Board of DIRECTORS and is not connected either to the

SERVICE TAG which is the same as the serial number.

Carrots or not is TOTALLY NOT related to the service tag Associates to the power supply and other factors.

  • Insect caught in the monitor u2414Hb and support is a disaster. No service tag

First of all the question I seek to solve. A small insect, probably a fly has managed to make its way into my monitor in any way. It became lodged between the Panel and an outer layer or in the Panel and quickly dies. And has been stuck in place for more than a month. Attempts to dislodge without disassembling the monitor failed.

Now, AFAIK disassemble the monitor to clear it will void the warranty and risk of damage to the screen so I prefer to avoid. I decided to contact the Department of support or guarantee dell to see if we could do something on this end.

The monitor was purchased new from NewEgg.com on 01/01/15, with an indicated 3 years manufacturer's warranty. So, it should always be in the manufacturers warranty period.

Although none where Dells website, or via their telephone system you can contact the technical support or departments without a number of warranty service. My monitor does not have a serial number, and Dells own materials state clearly that stand-alone monitors sold prior to 2016 (like this one, in 2015, has bought manufactured 2014) do not always have a service key.

I tried every number on my monitor and its box, both online and telephone assistance. A number search as a service on the Web site key (but not with the telephone assistance) and appears as a system of office since 1997.

Telephone service has been terrible. Repeatedly asking a service key, even when I explained that I don't have not one. Repeatedly ask me about Dell computer system I bought it, despite my clear statement that my problem was equipped with a screen of stand-alone and that I was not the owner of a dell computer system. Repeatedly asking me a Dell order number, despite my stating clearly it was not purchased from Dell, but bought new from newegg.com. Repeatedly telling me to contact the seller (newegg) to some how get help as a guarantee of the manufacturer. They told me a serial number was unnecessary because millions of people had bought monitors with this serial number. As if this makes no sense at all. I was told that a product model could be used to find what product I was calling about. I was told no numbers appearing on my device, or on its original packaging (that I kept) could be found in any system. I was transferred to several operators in several services all followed the same scenario and giving the same spiel on the * service tag. Before an operator involved, I've been dishonest and has asked for my phone number. All this despite the pages of Dell support stating clearly that some of their products do not have a key support.

It does not appear to be process at all to deal with Dell products manufactured and sold without this little number that supposedly so critical. Dell apparently cannot do anything with the model # and # series uses all manufacturers in the world.

. Exactly how to make contact with the service the customer without a service key.

And can do something about the dead bug that introduced itself in the center of my screen as a brown spot little? Or am I stuck risking the destruction of my monitor with a canceled warranty? It doesn't make sense that a bug should be frankly worm its way between the layers of the screen.

  • Bad computer for my Service tag model

I bought an Inspiron 24-7459 on 20/04/2016 and it was delivered on 22/04/2016.  When I go to the Dell Web Site for support, it shows that my Service tag is for a laptop Inspiron 3558.  My BIOS shows the correct model.  Who should I contact to get this corrected?

I called Tech Support and they fixed on their end and now it's OK.

  • Get my service tag windows serial key

I bought an inspiron 7520 with windows 8 on it.

I have just replaced my ssd hd and now when I installed windows again, I am in need of my serial number (oops, should have thought before wiped my other HD:------).

I checked and it is not a sticker with the serial of windows on the computer. so is there a way to recover sing service tag?

Use the RW - any program to display your embedded system locked preinstallation key BIOS:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows-8-1/Microsoft-product-activation/obtaining-your-OEM-BIOS-embedded-SLP-product-key-using-RW-everything-OEM-only/

If your product key is rejected by the installation media and then probably the product key is for Windows 8.0 and media are a .iso Windows 8.1. Unfortunately made Microsoft the installation of deployment of the ridiculously difficult Windows/Windows 8 Service Pack1 8.1 causing much frustration users.

To overcome these difficulties, you may need to install with a generic product key:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows-8-1/Microsoft-product-activation/installation-of-Windows-8-1-with-a-Windows-8-0-retail-product-key-notes/

Then you need to change the key and enable after installation:

  • Has no hard drive, and emits the Service tag

    Hello

The hard drive on my Inspiron 1501 seems to have gone wrong, it caused a right emergency stop about when it's a very sounding nasty, high rise, whirring noise. Diagnostics from the Start Menu running on this point as the hard drive test failed.

Now to start the computer stops loading windows once past the initial splash screens.

Replacing the hard drive is not, actually, I already have another to replace it. The problem is that this laptop came with no disk for the operating system (XP) support and drivers. Everything was simply stored on a separate partition.

However, the biggest problem of all is that my service tag sticker is missing, apparently after having door/peeled out of the bottom of the laptop, and without being able to log on in fact at all I don't know how to find it at this stage.

I suspect that any help from Dell's Tech support will be a process much more awkward without the re-initialisation tag #. The only other option that I noticed by looking at a page on the order of the drives support was the "order No." the purchase, I have of course failed to follow as well.

At this point, I'm just curious as to what my best options to possibly retrieve serial number if it's even feasible. I'd rather be ready to do a simple process once I have involve technical support.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • 680M nvidia drivers are located is not the site of service tag

When you enter my service tag and watching drivers available for download, nVIDIA GeForce GTX GT650M / 660 M/GTX 680 M/GTX 675 M Graphics Driver is registered only for Win7, but I Win7 64-bit.  Is there a version of 64-bit driver available?

I'll answer my own question... the pilot labelling was inaccurate.  He has been labeled for win7, but was intended for win7 64 bit.  After having extracted the files, it became clear.
