Services running on my computer

How can I find out what services need to be running on my computer? How do I know which I can configure automatic, manual or disable? These services interfere with my memory at all? If I am a home user do I need in fact regarding the running process? Where can I find this information? blondeagent99

I have a Gateway laptop running 32-bit Vista SP2 I can't connect to wireless networks. One day, I had no problems and the next, I am unable to find all the networks.  When I try to connect to a network, I get a message that Windows cannot find any network.  When diagnosing why link is clicked I get an error dialog box "Windows Wireless Service is not running on this computer. When the Windows network diagnostics dialogue box I click on 'Start Windows Wireless Service' and then told me that Windows cannot resolve the problem and ask contact me my network administrator or ISP.

I tried several fixes of different forums and nothing has worked.  I ran the antivirus scans that have not found anything.  Y at - it a fix for this problem?

    Hello

1 have you checked the State of the wireless autoconfiguration WLAN service in the services window?
    2. do you have any security software installed on the computer?
    3. have you made changes on the computer recently?

We will first try to manually start the wireless service, i.e. the WLAN AutoConfig service. To do this, connect to the computer as an administrator.
    1. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
    2. Locate the autoconfiguration WLAN service, double-click to open its properties window.
    3. on the general tab, change the startup type to automatic and click on the Start button.
    4. click on apply, then ok.

Try to connect to the wireless connection and check the result.

If the service still does not start, run the System File Checker tool to scan the computer for the corrupt system files and automatically correct. To run a sfc scan, try the steps mentioned in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

For more information on the wireless settings, see this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb878035.aspx

  • deployment of web services on a remote computer

    Hello

Which is the best way and quick to deploy Web services for user WEB interface Builder on a remote computer, where there is no development, but only LV runtime environment?

(in the case that I have to frequently change the vi that I use to create Web service and deploy it to a remote computer)

Is it necessary to create an installer with included WS? Is always necessary in LV2012 to use labview.ini and niwebserver.conf to the webservices to run on the remote computer, as it is written on the following knowledge about LV2009 book?

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/62B9C2D5C91EE8B28625778800609FF2

I noticed that there is in the folder:

    C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\WebServices\aws

the webservice is deployed with the screws that are used to operate.

Is not possible to copy only the VI in this folder when I modify the vi used by the Web service, instead of doing each time the program installation and the whole procedure on the knowledge that I linked above?

    Thank you very much

    Steven

    Hi Steven,

The best way to install a Web Service on a remote computer is to use an installer.  The reason being that the Web Service will be compiled and the installer will place the screws have respected and associated configuration files in the right place. If you were to put a VI from the development environment in the folder of aws would not correctly.  Any process other than the installer is also considered not supported by OR.

  • How can I find what firewall is running on my computer?

    Original title: find firewalls

How can I find what firewall is running on my computer?  I have used norton, mcafree, avg in the past.  All have been removed through programs removal program.  I turned off my windows firewall and Security Center says I still have firewalls.  I can't access itunes store or download programs (such as the overdrive media).  I don't have a router, but have tried that disconnect and connect the computer directly to the modem.  Still have the problem.

Security applications - especially those of McAfee and Norton - cannot be completely removed using the control panel > Add / Remove programs.

For McAfee, see http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100507 which explains how to use the McAfee Consumer Products Removal (that you can get the link in this article).

    For Norton, see https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home

    For AVG, see http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities

If for some reason you want to reinstall everything before (that I do not recommend), don't forget to make a record of your license key before uninstalling.  The links above should explain how to do this.

Some motherboards with nVidia chipsets include a hardware firewall (nVidia ActiveArmor).  I'm not positive on how to determine if you have this or not, but I suggest starting with a glance at the "network adapter" section of the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK).

PS: even if you're experienced, do not use your router.  It provides a layer of protection between you and the Internet, if you connect with all firewalls disabled.

while trying to connect to internet, I get the message "connection status: unknown the account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process" that you start happens out of the blue. When I run the diagnostic and repair tool it says that Windows cannot resolve the problem, contact admin or your ISP. I know that my internet service works very well. I am currently on an e-machine running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and it connects without problems. My problem is that my most recent top of office (gateway also on Windows Vista Home Premium) receives connection problems. IM connected to the internet (DSL) with the ethernet cable from the Yukon. All the lights are green on the wireless gateway, so I know that the service is very good. Strange thing I noticed, when I go to network status and share and view Gateway desktop computer shows the "Yukon Ethernet controller" as the connection while the e-machine device says Im using "Intel (R) PRO/100VE Network Connection" Im using the same cable (Yukon) and put in place for both computers, so I was wondering what that was all too. Any help is appreciated.

  • I have 2 versions of windows vista running on my computer. One is before it crashed and it took all the RAM (Ram)

I can't clean the discs because I can't load any programs because the memory has faded.  So I can not put a page of my computer desktop or download programs, I need to get my images that I have on the other program running.  I can't open one of these programs because I don't have the authorization even if I was always the user and administrator.  What I would do.  Can I add more memory Ram?  Can I remove the old stuff that I can't open anyway.  DLLs etc.  I downloaded vista 2pr, but it does not work.

    Hello

Here is the information from your other question here about it:

"I can't collect any information of my system information page."  When I connect I get redirected to a page that asks me what version of vista I want to open.  One is Microsoft vista and the other is windows vista.  The Microsoft is the only one that works. The other takes me a blank page. »

"I have 2 versions of windows vista running on my computer. One is before it crashed and it took all the RAM (Ram).

I suggest that you save your data and reinstall the operating system properly.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

See what methos works for you.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

The only drawback that I want to emphasize is that this fix causes completely reset to its default settings of windows search.  Customizations to search what have been done by the user (e.g., windows search indexing user customizations options) will be lost.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and occasionally experienced the same error message ( windows cannot find ': search query = XXX ", where XXX corresponds to my search query) try to search through windows when start menu search box.

Only recently, however, discovered one other cause possible/fix to this problem.
Specifically, I discovered that the error of windows search resulting from the ADDITION of a NETWORK LOCATION on the local computer (for example, via the menu option "Add a network location" that appears when you click the file menu in a window of windows Explorer displays the contents of the local computer (corresponding to the "COMPUTER" icon). The CENTER of my computer SYNC settings have been defined to disable the synchronization of network or file 'offline' and I suspect that this setting is also part the cause of the error of research.

To resolve this problem, simply tell windows search not to include the 'network' location in the search index.  To do this, one needs to access the settings of the windows search INDEX LOCATIONS (via Indexing Options-> change), then uncheck the box next to the network location (which on my computer starts as follows: oneindex: / / {s-1-5-21...)

After unchecking this box, click on the OK button and then CLOSE the button to exit the Options of Index window.  After that the error message should hopefully not return.  If so, try restarting the computer and research to test again.

    Hope this helps!

    :)

  • How can I find what I need at startup of the computer programs, I went to the System Configuration, but do not know what to uncheck to stop running when the computer is started

I ran a report on my computer, in case of problems.  It detected that I needed to verify in the Configuration of the system on the programs that were running at the start of the computer.  I have several here I will list who is here, and maybe someone can tell me that I don't need at start-up.

    1 Microsoft Security by Microsoft

2 updater Java (TM) Platform SE Auto by Sun Microsystems

3 Localnet Express 3.0 - propel Software Corp. (Localnet is my provider and this express is supposed to help my computer go to websites faster)

4 Roc_Roc_NT_unknown-AVG safe search (I was told I didn't need AVG antivirus, so I deleted it out)

    5. default manager by Microsoft

6 adobe Acrobat from Adobe Systems

7 adobe Reader by Adobe Systems

    8 AVG Tray-unknown

I hope someone can help me with this takes 15 min for a loading site approx. 30 to load the game after I finally get it, then the game is frozen and won't do anything.  Even for all other sites, I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do.  I have dial up and Windows 7.  Just started having problems after getting this new service provider.

    Hello Wanda.

One command, but lets see what we can do to whittle the list down. First, dial-up internet connection is slow, so keep that in mind that we work here.

Second, almost all your startup programs are valid and advised to load at startup of Windows. Some possible changes:

    (1) If you need not a specific to Java, such as might have the game that you are trying to play, so you don't need to have it is launched at startup.

    (2) regarding the Adobe programs, why do you have Acrobat on your computer? Do you need to create PDF files? Adobe Reader which has many freeware alternatives that are faster, used to read PDF files. So if you need only to read PDF files, you can stop Acrobat from loading at startup.

    (3) other startup programs are all legitimate. And remember, just because you do not start a program at startup, does not mean that you cannot start later if you find that you don't need it.

    (4) the problems you encounter to "all sites that you visit" could be a function of malware. You don't have AVG Antivirus running on your computer just? I recommend do you a scan in depth and then put in quarantine and remove any infections it finds.

    (5) after you run the virus scan, I suggest that you try to download and run these two scanners. First MalwareBytes' Antimalware, here: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html.  Secondly, SUPERAntiSpyware, here: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html. Quarantine and remove all infections they find.

    (6) after doing this, restart your computer and see how it works. Please post your results here, and if you have any questions during this process, post here and I'll help you. Let me know how you fare.

    Kind regards

  • mediaget2 is installed and running on my computer, how can I get rid of him?

    Original title: program installation

I learned that a program called mediaget2 is installed and running on my computer. I tried to open the program, but nothing has been posted. When I tried to uninstall, I was told that the program was running. Please help me to get rid as I

    cannot open or uninstall.

If you use Windows XP, you should uninstall it by going to control panel, click Add/Remove programs. Scroll down to MediaGet2, and then uninstall it.
If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to control panel, click programs and features. Scroll down to MediaGet2, and then uninstall it.

If these methods do not contribute to uninstall MediaGet2, you can download a 3rd party software program and then remove MediaGet2.

    I hope this helps.
