• Need help with Win XP Installation on Satellite A200

  I tried to install Win XP on a new Satellite A200 - 1TJ model PSAE3, so I used the link that is given to me and downloaded the Intel storage utility Disk Manager. But it does not at all.

  I did these steps so far:

  -Insert the CD in Win XP (version 32 b) laptop, press F12 to boot from the CD and start the installation. After the installation has begun, I pressed F6.
  -After a few seconds, Windows XP asked me for some externel drivers, I have inserted the floppy disk with the drivers in my external floppy drive, pressed in and chose the 82801 HEM / HBM SATA AHCI for my laptop. (Yes, it's the right one, I tried with the driver of another, similar, but it works with the first)
  -Continue the Installation, Windows asked me to install Windows XP, press F8 to accept, and she continued.
  -The window to the right controller appeared, I have chosen to format and create partitions, stop the installation and everything repeated while Win Vista is not your HARD drive, but the driver is installed.
  -J' chose C:\ to install, press ENTER to accept and then the first Windows files had been copied on the HARD disk.

  - Then the installation stopped, asked me to insert the "Intel Storage Manager driver" to my floppy drive, in my opinion the right one was inserted, I pressed Enter to continue, but nothing has changed.

  I just tried to use a WInXP unattended to pre-install the right drivers, but with this CD, the installation does not start. I also tried some drivers of Intel and Toshiba for the Intel Storage Manager, downlaoded all them and get to the disk, but it does not continue with the installation of Win XP.

  Maybe someone has another idea?

  The Intel Matrix Storage Manager is the right driver, well, looks like you made a mistake.

  You have formatted and created the partitions after the installation of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. Please don t format the HARD drive, because in this case, you will lose the SATA driver!

  By the way; NLite software could help you to create a new XP and include the SATA drivers.

• Incorrect date during installation

  I bought Vista today and did a clean install. Then I installed the motherboard, logitech drivers video card drivers on and printer drivers. I then installed Kaspersky internet protection. After the installation of Kaspersky, I needed to update the definitions. Meanwhile, I noticed that the date said July 1, 2010. Today's date is June 30. I went to change the current time and date in order to correct the fault and Kaspersky came say the incorrect posting date after I put the date to June 30. I reset the date back to July 1 and the problem disappeared.

  What I need to know, is how can I fix this error without having to reinstall everything all over again? If I change the date to July 1, 2010 July 2 it will affect all other facilities that see the posting date? Seriously, I don't want to sit around another 2 hours reinstalling everything. But still I'll wait hours or days for a response. Difference being I can do other things then tend to a computer configuration ;)  Will disable updates on everything and setting the correct date to midnight work (I'm a night owl)?

  If you don't have the correct Date, it can affect things can, including Windows updates, Live Racing broadcasts. etc.

  As it happened after the installation of Kaspersky, you could contact their support and ask them why.

  Normally, if you simply replace the correct date, it does not affect things.

  I bought new Toshiba Satellite U500 - 10L last night, he breaks down during installation of finishing!

  It seems that system recovery image is not made properly. Or maybe the hardware problem.

  I don't think there is a problem with the hardware.
  I don't know where you live but visit the nearest Toshiba service if possible and they will install for you and order the new recovery if necessary.
  I'm 100% sure that all this will be done free of charge.

  U500 is also mobile friendly. I like it a lot, but it is unfortunately too small for me

  So I tried to install my old windows XP Professional sp2. Here's the problem:

  During installation, Xp procres say there is no hard drive.
  Hmm, I thought I should have a look on other forums. There, they said to integrate a sata driver on the xp cd.
  But I don't understand the using nLite to use.

  Could you show me how I had to reinstall my old XP?
  I have a lot of files to my laptop and I change some settings in Vista so that I could not use internet.
  If I want to reinstall vista with the recovery cd, it would remove all folders, photo ect.
  I use only my other old computer.

  A friend of mine has a similar problem with an incorrect serial number message. The reason was the laptop has been maintained before and technicians forgot to put the DMI information. Has returned to the authorized service provider and technicians has defined the right DMI information. After this no problems!

  Here is the cure:
  Probably a good idea to go to Toshiba and download the latest version of the software for the camera to your computer. Do not open this software. Go to the control panel and remove the existing camera Assistant software. Open the Kaspersky software and click settings then click threats and exclusions under the Options tab. Click on the zone of confidence. Click on approved Applications. If CEC_MAIN.exe exists, delete it. Restart the computer.
  May be a good idea to delete your internet cable because we do a right-click on the Kaspersky shortcut and click PROTECTION of PAUSE. This is a must! Probably best to set for a 10 minute break. Close this menu and then open Kaspersky. Go to settings > threats and Exclusions > Trusted Zones > objects > Add + > and type in manually or copy and paste the following text exactly as shown below:

  C:\Program Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\CEC_MAIN.exe

  exclusionary rules, to allow CEC_Main.exe to be a trusted application. Then reinstall the software assistant camera. Kaspersky should always be in pause mode, but will let you know maybe CEC_MAIN.exe to contain a virus.
  Ignore, but look for the option on this same screen that will allow you to add this as a trusted application. It's the key to this... Kaspersky should be paused during the reinstallation of the software. Once you tell Kaspersky to add this as a trusted application, your installation should be completed. REBOOT and the problem is over.

  I'm having a terrible time get the unit to work with the languages I want! Here's the scenario:

  1 operating system installed with "English (United Kingdom) as the default locale.

  2. the unit is installed with American English, British English, people's Republic of CHINA Chinese and English Australian.

  3. under "Setup \ Phone Languages' load we have UK English and Chinese Hong Kong."

  4 English UK has the default phone language.

  When customers with a mailbox reaches the unit they receive UK English guests and that's right. When someone is passed to the unit, they receive British English that is also correct.

  However, when a phone no subscribers hit the unit they the message "Hello, Cisco Unity Messaging System" in Australian English. I can't see how this can happen! The default language is set to the United Kingdom, all call handlers are attached to the United Kingdom and English Australian is not yet loaded. How is that possible? Am I missing something?

  The only hint that I can find is an error that occur sporadically in newspaper NT events:

  Cisco Unity Server Manager sentence encountered a serious error.

  EXPLANATION:

  The specified language is not charged. Check that the specified language is installed and that you have a license for multiple languages.

  TECHNICAL DETAILS:

  What you hear is a _greeting_ of pre recorded not a guest - so the first language you have installed (which I believe is English AUS when selected) will copy the greetings of the system which includes a few files includng voice called Administrator, your distribution list names and the greeting itself - opening is expected that the customer will save their own opening so not too much time is devoted to worry about the of which several language versions of these vows are copied during installation - most people don't leave this default prompt, they want their name of company there and other...

  Greetings don't change languages when you switch languages of the system, only guests...
