  They can be pointers or buffers. Which of the two is ambiguous in the syntax of C. However, in your case I suppose that piMsgId and pcLen be a pointer to a unique value and pszDest a string buffer.

  Description is not really clear however most of the C API require today the length of the allocated buffer at the entrance to make sure that they don't overrun the buffer length. They may or may not change this value before returning to indicate the amount of data they actually informed. The pcLen parameter passed by reference probably indicates that this function does this way.

  It is not necessary. You can simply set the parameter to a string and must be passed as a C string pointer. In LabVIEW 8.5 or more you can also configure to resize this string for the number of characters as indicates it a different setting of the library to compose the node (CLN), in this case your pcLen. 8.5 you can use a table to explicitedly initialization function create a table Bbyte of the length needed, convert the byte array to string and pass to the CLN parameter. LabVIEW will return automatically only the part of the string up to the NULL character if a CLN is configured as C string pointer

  No! If you configure the parameter is a string, passed as a string pointer C, LabVIEW will do it automatically for you.

  -A bit of background: the desktop PC that I use is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, with active user accounts total five. I have my own account, and I can access the computer through (or through account from my brother, because I know its password).--

  I had this problem recently came where the administrator password (that I know for a long time and never changed) no longer works. So, after some research, I created a reset password on a USB disk, that I found in my house. I managed to create the disc, but when I tried to put the new password, I got the message error "an error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account', which I must say is not very clear. I found a few methods of force - reset the password for the account of the admin, as using a sort of Windows Vista DVD or go to Safe Mode to find the hidden administrator account... but I have no idea what this DVD is or where to find, and in Safe Mode, there is no account user administrator to be seen. I believe that my machine is corrupted, but I don't want to buy a new. I want just to reset a password...

  Any help is appreciated. If I was not specific enough, I can specify in comments.

  I have a simple setup with mainly express screws where I follow the steps below in a while loop

  (1) collect signals with the DAQ Assistant, that generates dynamic data. It is the collection of samples of N

  (2) changing the attributes of the dynamic data using the express VI 'Set the Dynamic Data attributes'

  (3) storing dynamic data revised to a file by using the writing to the file of the measurement.

  The problem I was see is that whenever I have insert the express VI 'Set the Dynamic Data attributes' in the data flow, I find myself with a file where synchronization of the signal (i.e., the waveform t0) was cancelled. This seems to happen any dynamic data attributes, I edit. For example, even if I try to set the name of signal I find myself with out having a nulled-out t0

  It looks like a bug to me as well. Also, unlike other screw Express, you do a right click on it and select open the face before seeing what the problem is. It's pretty simple to find a work around. I converted to a waveform, has obtained the t0 and handed that back as the timestamp for the signal of slected.

Obtaining and displaying the data are no problem for 'normal' strings and characters, but I can't send characters like German "Umlaut" (Ä Ü Ö) or Japanese or Chinese characters. Coding for the Socket connection is UTF-8 and the command POST also contains a line of Content Type with character set UTF-8. The server expects UTF - 8, so I need my data in this encoding.

  When I send strings of InDesign now, I always get an error 'Bad Request' from my server. Looks like that the strings in ESTK is not UTF-8 - How can I create UTF-8 strings? I can't find methods of encoding conversion...

  OK, it took a while to find that - maybe someone else has the same problem and it is looking for a solution, I'll try to explain:

  I downloaded the source files for tomcat to know how tomcat with my data. I debugged deep into the code until I reached the CotoyeInputStream - here the reading of data from InDesign. And although I understood that the stream is read in the form of bytes and characters are counted. The Umlaute and other special characters are encoded as two bytes, but they are counted as a single character. For every Umlaut transferred the number of bytes is 1 higher than the number of characters.

  And at a time the flow is cut to the number of characters.

  So these are 13 bytes and 12 characters:

  {'name': 'u'}

  The byte stream is cut to 12 - last byte is lost and it will happen in my application server:

  {'name': 'u'}

  Support of closing is absent and that throws the Exception.

  My simple solution/solution: I'm adding several spaces. Tomcat is always cut the last characters, but now there are only spaces to be cut. And with spaces, it worked...
