set up a branch to the main ethernet using Airport Extreme network

Could someone help me with this network configuration please?

I rent an office and we have an ethernet cable coming into our building to the main network (a fiber broadband building next door). The ethernet line give you IP addresses and internet link.

I would like to set up our own network in our building-

1 / would put an Airport Extreme there is the ethernet cable and then plug the cable into the WAN port

2 / I would implement the EA to distribute IP addresses, but using a different pool - so if the main building uses 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.256, I would be created my AE to use 10.1.1.1 to 10.1.1.256

3 / I would then run an ethernet cable between the port LAN on EI to my Netgear 24 port switch.

4 / I would connect all our other airport extreme and express again our Ethernet switch and put them all to 'bridge mode '. The switch ethernet cables may be connected to the WAN ports on these airports.

Anyone see any problem here? We would just to have control over our own IP addresses and be able to restart our Airport Extreme, if we must, do not rely on the building next door to the distribution of intellectual property. I know still need to answer on them for the internet connection, but that's fine.

Thank you!

It should work. It would be the basis of a network of mobile type.

A word of caution. With the exception of the "main" AirPort Extreme that performs as a router, connect the other base stations using their respective ports of LAN. We found some inconsistencies when a base station is in bridge mode and the connection is their WAN port.

I want to thank my wifi in another part of the House with an Airport Extreme. But I want to not be connected to the modem main via ethernet cable is it possible?

I put in place already to extend the wifi of my modem still connected to the modem via ethernet cable.

Now I want to be considered on the floor and use it to extend the wifi without ethernet cable

The AirPort Extreme can extend only wireless signal from another router from Apple, so if you want to take the AirPort Extreme on the floor and extend wireless signal, you will need another airport connected to your modem by Ethernet cable router to produce the wireless signal that will extend the extreme on the floor.

Another way of saying the same thing would be to say that if you want to extend wireless using a router from Apple, you'll need two of them do... because AirPort Extreme is not compatible with a third-party modem or modem/router for this purpose.

  • Cannot print with HP6840 since I added the password to the Apple AirPort Extreme network

I recently added to my Mac Airport Extreme network WPA password protection. While I can access the network from my computer, I can't print a HP6840, one of my two wireless printers, even if there is no problems prior to the addition of password.

I can always print to my old HP LaserJet 6MP using an AppleTalk-Ethernet bridge and managed to reconfigure my second wireless printer to work with the new password.

    I already tried the following:

Uninstalled/reinstalled the original CD and more recent software/drivers HP printer

Tried to printer configuration using the Ethernet - half thanks looking for printer, received an error message "Communication error with a printer" and the installation process has failed.

Checked: Safari bookmarks / Hello: printer does not appear

Computer and the printer turned off and restarted the computer

    None of these attempts succeeded.

Any suggestions on how to restore my wireless printing?

    Thank you.

Mac OS 10.5.7 iMac with Intel processor

I spent 3 hours on the phone this morning with the HP Technical Support. While the call cost me $35, it's probably money well spent. After trying all kinds of approaches to installation, we finally concluded that the villain was probably the combination of personal WPA2 to authenticate password on my network and the inability of the HP6840 printer (now almost 5 years) to support WPA2. Tech said that WPA2 wasn't around 5 years.

So I have two options: delete the password completely and let my unprotected network, use a WEP password (which can create an Apple AirPort and the printer can recognize) or try a WPA password. However, it seems that the airport offer only WPA-Personal and WPA Enterprise, while the printer does not seem to accept the WPA.

Even if I don't really relish change passwords again, it seems that WEP is the way to go.

Hope this helps those trying to install old printers on the new networks.

  • How to extend the range of my Airport Extreme Base Station (802. 11 a, c) using a relay of Airport Express (802.11n).  Airport Utility (V635.2) says that this version does not support the relay.  That is what it is?

How can I extend the range of my Airport Extreme (802. 11 a, c) using an Airport Express (802.11n) point.  Airport (V635.2) utility does not recognize the Express on its screen?  I have to buy equipment?  I'm on a MacPro OS X 10.10.5.  Thank you.

AirPort utility that ships with OS X 10.10.5 supports base stations as 802.11ac & 802.11n AirPort. It should be able to configure both of your base stations for a scope (wireless connected base stations) or roaming types (base station connected Ethernet) wireless networks.

When you initially configure the Wan, it helps to keep the two base stations in the same room. Once configured, you can move the base station that extend to the desired location. The important key is that the final positioning of the station that extends the base must be understood that it's to expand in order to maintain sufficient bandwidth to the station remotely for clients from network connected. Please check the following airport user tip for more details.

  • To access the branches connected to the main office using VPN L2L by RA VPN

    Hi all

I am trying to configure access to several remote sites for users that VPN in our main data center.  The data center has a 5520, and branches are connected via L2L IPSec VPN.  All branches have 5505 or 5510.  Remote users use IPSec via the remote Client to Cisco.  In our data center works and L2L VPN remote access are perfect... only now that I need remote users access to branches

after remote access VPNing (of support), I can't work the part.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

Vpn client access management office subnet via the main ASA site, you must configure the following:

    (1) If you have split tunnel, it must include the branch subnet in the tunnel of split ACL.

    2) allow to "permit same-security-traffic intra-interface" on the main ASA site.

    (3) configure the pool of the vpn client subnet in the lan-to-lan tunnel to the branch.

On the main site, crypto ACL to one of the branch should say:

    ip licensing

On the site of the Directorate, crypto ACL to the main site should say:

    ip licensing

    (4) on the site of the Directorate, should also include NAT exemption between the branch subnet to the pool of the vpn subnet.

    (5) after all the changes above, you need to clear the tunnel, so the ipsec lan-to-lan tunnel recover with the new subnet included.

    Hope that helps.

  • Branching from the main Login Page

    < h2 > connect - by user menu choice drop-down page go to - main Login - does not work on the 1st attempt < / h2 >

I have page 101 default login page. The user wants to go to the page 10 or 20 based on the drop-down list of choices from the list it on this page. When connecting, the user types, Username, Password and a drop-down list of page10 or page 20 to navigate to...

I created a list of selection drop-down item on page 101
The user can choose 10 or 20 from this list by entering their name of user and password
    Click on the "connect" button

I'll put the process of "login" page to page 101 to the appropriate branch based on the choice of the user above. (wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login)

I also put an application variable in creating a calculation on this page just to see that the user has selected the page
    -
    Problem
    -
The process of Page goes to the Page 10 (default login page) first.
I sign, and then choose the Page 20 for navigation drop-down choice.
Connection on page 20 does not occur when this choice is made...
    -
Now, I am new and during reconnection at page 101, I chose the 10 page, BUT the navigation now flows to Page 20 of the connection process.
    -
It seems that the FIRST time when I login through the page 101, the choice of the user in the course of this attempt, DO NOT get manipulated or honored. I'm managing NVL also during the process of "login" page above.

Please notice, why the 'branch' for the choice of the user on the page 101, is not parsed or honoured correctly the first time and applied to determine the page to land on? Once a successful connection occurs, the first branch - to the page selected by the user seems to be captured and again during the process of disconnection-re-login to honor...

    Please advice. Thank you

You must configure the routing policy based closure for NAT can be invoked on the main site.

Here is an example configuration for your reference:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/sw/secursw/ps2308/products_configuration_example09186a008073b06b.shtml

Additionally, make sure that you don't do any NATing at your remote end, IE: you must configure the NAT exemption for all traffic from 192.168.11.0/24 to any (Internet).

    Hope that helps.

  • where can I find the mac address for Airport Extreme

just bought a new Airport Extreme 802.11ac and I don't know here to find the MAC ADDRESS. Can someone tell me where to look. I have the model and serial number, but can not find the MAC ADDRESS.

Is the AirPort Extreme, set up and operation right now... even if he could not have an Internet connection?

If Yes... Open the AirPort on your Mac utility... (Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility)

Hold down the option key on your Mac when you double-click on the image of the AirPort Extreme

The next page will display a summary of the parameters

The AirPort Extreme has done 3 different MAC addresses... Ethernet, WiFi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi.   If your AirPort Extreme is connected to a modem by an Ethernet cable, then the Ethernet ID is the MAC address.

If the AirPort Extreme has not set up yet at all...

Open AirPort Utility as above, and then click the file menu in the upper left corner of the screen next to the Apple icon

    Click on configure the other

    For address, enter 10.0.1.1

A password is normally not necessary, but if you are prompted for a password, use the word

    public

Click OK, the settings summary page is displayed.  In most cases, given that the AirPort Extreme connects to a modem via an Ethernet connection, you want to use the Ethernet ID as the MAC address.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, you have 90 days of support Apple phone. Call them and maybe they can explain why that should be a very simple task is so difficult.

  • Gigabit Ethernet through AirPort Extreme

I just got a gigabit home connection. If I connect my iMac via ethernet to gigabit municipal internet provider modem, II can get about 800 Mbps download based on the file netspeed.com. Nice.

However, when I use my Airport Extreme as a router ethernet (put the extreme between the iMac and the modem) my speed drops to about 1/10 of that.

None of the devices that I currently own are capable of handling 802.11 ac, so I know I could not anywhere near gigabit wireless speeds. But it would be nice to have the fastest speeds on the one machine I intend to connect via ethernet, then connecy to the extreme wireless.

Airport Extreme really limit the ethernet so? Is there a setting I can adjust for more fast ethernet routing?

If the AirPort Extreme 802.11ac is configured as a DHCP and NAT router, then the WAN to LAN speed will be limited to about 300-400 Mbps.  Check the results here:

    http://www.SmallNetBuilder.com/tools/charts/router/view

If the AirPort Extreme is configured in Bridge Mode, then you would expect to see 600 - 700 MB/s speed this way.

    http://www.SmallNetBuilder.com/tools/charts/router/bar/75-LAN-to-Wan

If you don't see results, then the AirPort Extreme is not to negotiate properly with your modem speeds.  Unfortunately, Apple has removed all the settings to manually adjust WAN port on the AirPort Extreme 802.11ac speed, so there is not much you can do others try a few unusual things...

One of them would be to insert a Gigabit Ethernet switch between modem and AirPort Extreme to see if it will negotiate better speeds like that

Another would be to try an Ethernet cable between the modem and AirPort Extreme cross.

If none of these things help, then you should ask Apple to replace the AirPort Extreme to you and hope for more luck in the next test.

  • How to use Airport Extreme with ethernet leased line

    Hello friends,

I was wondering if Airport Extreme is a true router, can I connect gout ethernet of my leased line directly in its WAN port, rather than put the provided ISP router between the two? I have lived many positions and all seem to suggest the connection of a cable/dsl modem to the WAN port on the extreme. Not found any information where it shows the ethernet line rented directly linking in the Giga WAN port, without any 2nd device in the meantime.

If it's possible, then I guess also what public IP provided PSI can be put into the WAN of AE interface. Can someone develop more on it and detail the steps of configuration? Given that EI has basic firewall NAT, I think it's doable, but can someone confirm please.

    Thank you very much.

Temporarily, if you connect your computer directly to the Ethernet line, can you get a good connection Internet in this way?

If so, then AIrPort Extreme could function as a router for you, but you are also likely to face a Double NAT error on the network. How well... or, even if... This might work cannot be known until try you it.

If the computer cannot connect, then what is required of your supplier for the computer to connect and get Internet access?

  • Why is there a number after the name of my Airport extreme?

    Your photo came not.

But if you have a set of numbers... This is errors.

I have a red circle showing three mistakes... they appear when you click the Airport Extreme in the utility.

Click to get rid of the errors on each of them and fix it. Or some of them that you can ignore it.

  • Please let know us if it is practical to use Airport Extreme to extend the network wireless in a big house.

I suspect that an original device connected to the modem cable... an intermediate device... and there should be a final device in a place further from the original device. I note that tech online article does talk to a wireless network using the 802.11ac signal. Would be grateful for advice on the feasibility of this. I currently have a Time Capsule, Airport Extreme connected my cable modem. I have a ~ 6 600 feet at home with the press on the 2nd story room and the other end of the House.

You can use Airport Express to extend wireless created by an AEBS. If the AEBS is a model of turn then it supports 802.11ac, but most dishes are not. New the AEX take in charge 802.11ac, but it is of little use if the AEBS model is not.

  • Time Capsule will not extend the Airport Extreme network

My airport extreme (do not know what version... can't even find it in the system report) offers a WiFi modem. I have a Time Capsule 4 G which extends the network. This works well for a few years now. Suddenly, the CAP began flashing yellow. Time capsule said Airport utility cannot extend the network and I should make sure the password is correct, that it is in the signal of a network, etc. I went through the settings of the time capsule by ensuring that passwords are correct. It is certainly within the range of the signal of the airport extreme (they are both in the same place as always... Besides, I put my iPhone next to the time capsule and I get a signal strong). I tried a hard reset of the time capsule. Of course, this does not work.

Time Capsule seems to be communicating with the computer very well. I can access it via the Airport utility and reboot. I can access the data on its disk backup. Airport Extreme is to give a signal of good wi - fi connection. I'm still able to pick it up with my computer (even if my computer is far more than the time capsule).

Someone has an idea of what's going on?

Given that the Capsule does not correctly connect unless everything is OK with the AirPort Extreme... I suggest that you turn off the time Capsule for now and check that everything works correctly on the AirPort Extreme.

My airport extreme (do not know what version... can't even find it in the system report)

You say that the AirPort Extreme does not appear when you open AirPort Utility?

If so, press and hold the option on your Mac key while you double-click on the image of the AirPort Extreme.

Model of the AirPort Extreme, you will appear at the top of the summary page. What is it?

Near the bottom of the summary page, check to see if there is a parameter that is displayed for the State.  If there is, what is the message next to status?

  • Setting white-space characters in the data source using ODI.

    Hello

I have a requirement in which I'm traction tables of MSSQL server to a target Oracle using ODI table. We have seen that the data that we pulled had white space and to avoid white space, I used a TRIM (field) in the interface for each column. This solves the problem of white space, but the problem is that we had to implement the TRIM function for all columns in all the tables that we had to pull.

Is there a global way to ODI where I can cut all the columns of a table without having to manually use the TRIM function in each column of the table? Kindly let me know that save us a lot of manual work as we need this comprehensive method on 300 + tables.
