Setting password on Simulator

I'm testing my push on the MDS Simulator app, but I do not see how to set a user name and password on the Simulator, so that my post will require a user name and password.

I expect there will be an entry in rimpublic.property but I don't see anything.

Thanks for the tips.

Chris

Hi Chris,

The simulator of MDS - CS has no support for authentication to push, so you would need to test with a real BES to check this functionality in your application.

  • ATG 10.1.2. How to set password BCC by CIM?

I'm new to 10.1.2 version, trying to install and configure properly to learn it. With CIM, I configured and set the editing, Production and staging of instances.

I ran BCC after installation (8180/atg/ICC) and was invited to the password - admin/admin or merchandising/merchandising set by default in previous versions of ATG has not worked in 10.1.

I learned from ATGInstallGuide that there is no predefined default password in 10.1.2 and I have to put them well CIM. (Or ACC)

    What is said here:
    * "By the CIM. During the post-installation process, CIM invites you to set passwords for the *.
    * default profiles that your environment requires «*»

I remember I once asked a password for the user of merchandising only, and the password I put cannot Bcc, so, probably, it was for something else.

Advise please, how to set BCC default account passwords (admin, merchandising and etc.) in the ICD? I do not see this option in the CIM - I have everything in the CIM and did not find it

Just in case where there is a list of options THAT CIM gives me after running:

[2] server Instance Configuration - made
    [3] application Assembly & deployment - done
[P] product selection - made (reference store Oracle ATG Commerce &)

CIM will ask new passwords when you select Create Schema and import the data. If you have forgotten the pwd given by you, you can reset it.

  • Set password Linux ATA hard drive / Toshiba Satellite Pro U200

Sorry for the long post, but I want to be as specific as possible:

    1)
I use a Toshiba Satellite Pro U200 under Linux (OpenSUSE) for some years now. Works fine without problems so far, even the fingerprint reader works. I deleted and never used the Windows XP preinstalled.

For security reasons, I have now decided to put a HDD ATA password, in case the laptop is lost or stolen (changed drive for a disk Seagate Momentus 7200 FDE.2 SATA II with full encryption of the disk material).

In order to get the protection offered by the full disk encryption, I need to set a password for the ATA. During startup, the Bios must request the password and unlock the drive only when the password is correct.

    2)
My problem is: in the Toshiba laptop it is impossible to set the hard drive ATA password directly in the bios (as is possible in HP laptops, for example). Toshiba there is only one way to set the password to disk, which is a software utility for Windows XP (named 'Assist'). But I don't want to change the operating system only to set this password.

    3)
Therefore, I tried the linux instructions

    hdparm - user-master m - security-all-pass SecretMasterPassword/dev/sda
    hdparm - user-master u - security-all-pass SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

which are used for adjustment ATA passwords. Indeed, at first, it seems to work very well. The password is set and the drive is locked.

    4)
When I restart the laptop, the Bios the HDD password request, as it should do.

But he does not accept the SecretUserPassword prior to seizure. The answer is "wrong password", or similar.

    5)
    Analysis:

I have no doubt that the password has been set correctly: I checked by restarting the laptop through rescue DVD in linux and unlock the disc via

    hdparm - user-master u - safety - unlock SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

in order to use it. No problem, it works as supposed to. After the release, the disc is usable as usual. And I can also disable the password via

    hdparm - user-master u - security - disable SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

After you disable the password, the laptop starts normally again, but I have no password.

When I re-enable the password bios Toshiba again asks the password during initialization, but does not accept the (correct) password on entry.

    6)
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior?

Bios Toshiba has somehow changes the password entered by the user, before being sent to the disk? I think that this would be inconsistent with the ATA standard.

Anyone managed to set/change the password to ATA in a way that the disc can be unlocked via the internal order of the Bios, without installation of Windows XP and the Toshiba Software 'Assist '?

Thanks for reading this long post so far. Any response is welcome.

    hmetz

    Hello

As you probably know Linux is not supported by Toshiba and if you n t get some good advice here I recommend you to visit a few Linux forums and try to discuss with experts in Linux it.

  • Satellite L70 - A - 13P - cannot get into BIOS after the BIOS setting password?

    HI, Satellite L70 - A - 13P

I set up a password user and supervisor. Works very well. However, I can't get into bios. If I press F2 as usual, I have the box "enter password" (the same as for normal startup). After you type the password for the supervisor, computer continues initializing and do not get into the bios!

I keep the key pressed F2 but nothing works.
    I also tried ESC, F1, INS, F12, 0.

    Help.

User and supervisor password the same?
Have you been able to get into the BIOS in the past?

Proceed to a complete stop and restart the laptop. Then try with F2 or F12. When you will be asked to set supervisor password and I hope that you will be able to enter the BIOS settings.

  • Cannot set password when you deploy vMA 5.0

    Hey all -

Okay, I have looked around and can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.  I have jusy deployed a bifurcation brand new VMA 5.0, but I can't deploy it as I'm stuck setting vi-admin password on initial startup. For each password that I get, I get "Sorry, the passwords do not match."  Now, I tried this dozens and dozens of times, with different passwords, had other people are trying to set the password, all to nothing does not.  Note that this has nothing to do with the complexity of password; who spits a different error message.  Anyone who encountered this? Is there a way around this part to deploy?

Thinking that the error may be with the "Old Password", I tried just hitting < return > for the old password, as well as "admin", "vi admin", "vmware" and a few other common assumptions, but it is only out of desperation that what I found in the docs and online indicate that the default password is empty.  ARGH!  Any help or suggestions would be welcome!

    Thank you

    -c

PS - one thing I have to do during the deployment was disable VAPP (settings-> Options-> TIME), so that I could do to turn it on without creating an IP pool. I don't see how this could be a problem (and cannot depend on the virtual machine without doing!).

I think I know what you may be facing, take a look at this VMware KB on repeat the http://kb.vmware.com/kb/196 character because you typed a password, you can't really see, but I think it's your problem (I been faced with this before as well)

I completely agree with you... so is it otherwise otherwise

If you want to password protect your listener, this password is stored in listener.ora. Period.

Apart from the creation of a mannequin listener.ora

There is no such thing as a "dummy" listener.ora You set up you headset with listener.ora or you do not configure and go with default pure.

and then adding the sid_desc and the service of database and then save it with it?... anything but that?

    Thank you
    AJ

You do not need to include a section SID_DESC in your listener.ora. Your instances will still be with the listener. And if you include a section SID_DESC in listener.ora your, your instances will always register themselves with the listener - in addition the static record defined in the section SID_DESC.
