Setting up a local network private through the device that extracts public wifi internet
I travel a lot in a RV I don't have a continuous Internet connection wherever I go, usually a public wifi some Camping I am for. I have several devices that I use, but I don't want that they are open to the public wifi network. I've had people send photos from their phone to my Xbox so that I use and I want to be more secure and control my devices.
I have a knowledge of basic networking. I was able to use my laptop to connect to a public wifi and then share the connection through Windows on the LAN ethernet port. I then connect that to my old Netgear DGND3700v2 DSL model with its DHCP function disabled. It worked for several months now, and I am able to connect to the ports of my router modem and lan with my devices. But some games on the xbox does not work because I can't redirect ports or control static and other IP addresses. I think that there should be a much easier way to do it.
I looked in my router Repeater functions, but I don't think that's the way I need to go. I have no access to the routers of the campsites configure them as bases. I need something that will pull simply bind an existing wifi and then deliver this private to my LAN connection.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
It worked perfectly. I bought a Netgear AC1200 and easily plugged into the local public wifi. I then wired to the LAN cable/Fiber gray on the Netgear router port and then reset the router ran smart installation thereon and he set up hands down with a new local network on a separate ip address range. Now all my devices independently connect to my router via wifi or LAN and use internet through the Extender without that person outside to get in and I don't have my laptop of aging on all the time to do so.

Hello
If you have the answer! I'll be so happy!
is there a way (or an app?) to set up a local proxy server on the airport extreme or time capsule?
Thanks for your time!
BR,
Stéphane
All routers, including the AirPort base station, run as a transparent proxies for the local network behind them. However, if you are talking about the possibility of proxy requests between the LAN and Internet, then no, the airport base stations do not have a native function to support doing so.
The two common methods to accomplish this are: 1) use a proxy on your local network, or 2) use a DNS, like OpenDNS service, which offers proxy services.

Hi there tried to hook my laptop up to wireless as ethernet cable keeps me tripping. I am complete technophobe and propably have the only laptop that gets used especially to open the door.
Have tried everything I can think even threaten her with glass of water after trying to connect to the wireless network, that it is said that there is something that doesn't work not with the driver if it means something to you. I have a toshiba, if it helps.Thank youoriginal title: I hope someone can help technophobeIt is said that there is something not working only not with the driver
You probably need to install some network drivers for your wireless card.
Download drivers
Visit the manufacturer's Web site and select your computer model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should be able to download drivers for your model. Download the driver (s) and follow the instructions to install - every computer is different, so I can't give you exact directions. You can also try to use Windows Update to get drivers - it is located in the start menu.

I want to see all the devices that are connected to my router
I have a router E1200 and it is very good, however I have noticed that there are 12 devices connected to my router so infact it should be only 4 devices. I would like to see all the devices that are connected and disconnect those who do not belong to HELP!
You use software to see all the devices that are supposed to be connected to your router? You can reset and start over with your router. Make sure you have security enabled on it as WPA Personal. You can try a DHCP reservation so to ensure that devices that will have access to your router are those you have included on the list.

How to establish a local router connection through the internet
How can I establish a local always on connection router through the internet. I would like to be able to access our local wireless network when you are away from the office.
Thank you!
The major goal of a router with internet is to protect the network from attacks through the firewall. The last thing you want to do is reduce this function.
If you want to access services on specific systems, you can transfer individual ports of these systems. Thus, for example, if one of the internal devices runs a web server you can before port 80 on this device.
However, if you want to make your PC to appear as if it is on the local network, then that requires the use of a VPN tunnel, which depends on the capability of the router.

Mapping network drives through the command prompt to another user
Right now I am implementing a batch file that will map the readers of network for other user accounts. Currently, I can only card readers for the connected account and no one else. Is there a way to do it through the command prompt, or I have to use powershell. Really, I'd rather it be done through the command prompt as I already all the completed script, with the exception of this part.
Thank you
EDIT: After further review, I conclude that there is no possible way to do it. Simply, it is not included in all orders that I could find. If someone finds, then great, but if not, like I did is as follows:
Check the user credentials against a master list which also has passwords.
Once a match, use this user name and corresponding password.
Run this to authenticate by using the Group Policy Editor.
You can map drives with group policy or by using a startup script (= batch file) that contains one or more of the following commands:
NET use / persistent: no
NET use q: \\ServerName\ShareName / User: David SomePasswordNET use q: \\ServerName\ShareName / User: David *.
Note that the incorporation of the passwords in a batch file is a serious safety hazard that is why the second command is preferable.

a WiFi list contains all the networks of all the devices I own desktop
I noticed in my network prefs the "preferred networks: ' list contains literally networks of a hundred who"joined "this" computer ".
I don't know how that's possible, that it's a 39.9 book without 3 additional discs computer and the monitor, I would need to carry with him.
so why "this" shows the networks of my my phone, my significant other phone, iPads etc. family members when 'this' computer clearly did not move in about 99% of these networks.
If you want to spy on someone, it's some potentially evil $#! +.
I can't say 100% for sure, but I think the quote below from the frequently asked questions on iCloud Keychain - Apple Support can offer an explanation:
Keychain iCloud keeps your Safari Web site names of user and passwords, credit card information and Wi - Fi network up-to-date information on all of your approved devices that use iOS 7.0.3 or later or OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later version.

How can you see the devices that I have authorized?
Is there a way to discover the devices on which I allowed until I have everything out? Looks like I should be able to see the list, and then select one to delete rather than get rid of everything and start over.
Not without manually check every computer that you think may be permitted; a computer can use multiple authorizations.
