To use a router... you must have the Internet Service in your home from any Internet service provider... If you have Sevice, then you can use any broadband router from Linksys WRT54G, WRT54GS, WRT54G2, WRT160N, WRT120N, WRT330N... to the configuration of the wireless network.

Hi there tried to hook my laptop up to wireless as ethernet cable keeps me tripping. I am complete technophobe and propably have the only laptop that gets used especially to open the door.

Have tried everything I can think even threaten her with glass of water after trying to connect to the wireless network, that it is said that there is something that doesn't work not with the driver if it means something to you. I have a toshiba, if it helps.
    Thank you
original title: I hope someone can help technophobe

It is said that there is something not working only not with the driver

You probably need to install some network drivers for your wireless card.

    Download drivers

Visit the manufacturer's Web site and select your computer model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should be able to download drivers for your model. Download the driver (s) and follow the instructions to install - every computer is different, so I can't give you exact directions. You can also try to use Windows Update to get drivers - it is located in the start menu.

  • P20: How to set up a wireless network

Help, please. Please can someone tell me how to configure my satellite P20 to exploit in the wireless. I've got 2pcs as an icon in the bar indicating connection 1394 tasks. Speed 400.0Mpbs
connected state. What is that.? I think I did this through the Connection Wizard, but didn't know what I was doing or how. PS. I'm not on broadband.

    Hello

As Miro Wireless and IEEE 1394 (firewire) are two completely different things. If you want to learn more on this subject see please this link http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/gDefinition/0, 294236, sid7_gci748584, 00.html. FireWire is mainly used for the transfer of data from external devices such as camcorder, external HARD disk or external devices, CD or DVD, because the data transfer speed is fast enough.

Can you please tell me exactly is it your device wireless card? You can check in the Device Manager. If so use to the first switch wireless on the left side of your laptop. If the wireless card is enabled and wireless light is on use the key combination FN + F8 to check if the card is correctly activated. After that, you must configure a wireless connection using the wireless network connection properties.

  • Set up a wireless network printer

I lost my wireless connection and have had to put up again. Now I have my 6600 Officejet wireless printer successfully implemented with my router and also my computer running Windows XP. To allow printing I configured a USB connection. When I run the software from the USB mode to the wireless network that it starts very well mobile file across but the bar then gets the opportunity of almost 3/4 and everything stops and after awhile, he says that he didn't. The only thing that seems a little strange to me is that, on the Page of Configuration of HP network, it shows the wireless Direct as having a different SSID this could be the problem?

Wow, excellent.   Thanks for the update.

  • Set up a wireless network without router

When you configure a wireless network without router, how many computers can I connet to this network?  Is there a limit?

Wow, I'm sorry.  I must have had a brain freeze when I read your post.  * From http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/20446-43-wireless-networking-general

What is the maximum number of wireless clients that can be networked using the Ad-Hoc mode, i.e. without an access point?

The theoretical limit, which is the same as in Ethernet, is determined by the 48-bit MAC address field in each frame of wireless data. The practical limit is determined by the constraints that can be integrated to client drivers. As a general rule, Ad-Hoc networks with 16 to 32 stations should be possible.

  • Hi dear, I just set up my connection wireless network with password

    Hi dear,

I just set up my network with password wireless connection and configure my router on the IP 192.168.1.2. , but to be

honest im not sure person cannot access my network and record everything I have on my computr.is is it safe? Please tell me know if you

    don't know.

    Hi saba161,

If you have the security key settings of the wireless network that turns on encryption. With encryption, people cannot connect to your network without the security key. In addition, any information that is sent on your network is encrypted so that only computers that have the key to decrypt the information can read it. This can help prevent attempts to access your network and your files without your permission. Common wireless network encryption methods are Wi Fi Protected Access (WPA) and WPA2.

Safety is always important; with a wireless network, it is still more important, because your network's signal could go beyond the boundaries of your home. If you don't secure your network, people with computers nearby may be able to access the information stored on computers on your network and use your Internet connection to get on the web.

  • Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network not lit - Satellite A85

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A85-S1072. I am trying to set up my wireless network, but I can't turn on my radio in my Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network card. My wireless router is configured OK.
I checked in the Device Manager tab and the Atheros wireless card is listed. However, pressing Fn + F8 does not work. Even the enable Radio option is not enabled in Atheros Client Utility.
I use Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and I disabled the "use Windows to configure your wireless network' option too.
Running the Atheros Client Utility shows me a message saying 'Turn on ACU Radio'
Of course, any help is welcome.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Is your unit preloaded with recovery media or you use your own installation of the OS. I ask this question because if you want to use the key combination FN + F8 a Toshiba designed the tool must be installed. I put t really know how he calls, but please do not forget that you have preinstalled all designed Toshiba stuff. Everything you need you can find on the Toshiba U.S. support page.

  • T61 Wireless Network Configuration

Hi I'm trying to set up a wireless network small office at home. I created a profile on the other two machines with XP pro. I have a cable router and all can connect through it when I try to create a network home with logins that he seems to think that I want to connect to a different router in a different place, while I use my router to create network wireless home office. I'm better off the coast of uninstallation of access connecitons. It seems that he manages this difficult work or can someone point me in the right direction. I loooked at Lenovo's article on it, but their images of their way to access connections is different from my dial-up connection. I have updated and update regulaily with system update. Advice and prayers... Please... Don't tak the last comment as confirmation that I believe in God or and beyond...

    Hi flambo,.

I would recommend just UN-installing of logins. You can switch between networks without thread too easily (IMHO) with the standard tools of Windows networking.

    See you soon,.
