I have a new computer with Windows 8.  I am trying to install my HP photosmart 3100 series all-in-one printer and it tells me that it is incompatible with this new system.  What should I do to install it?

If the problem persists, I suggest installing the driver in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    I understand that, with the combo, pack of ink you bought came with a Photo black cartridge, and you're wanting to use it in your printer. In regards to your printer, it is not compatible with the black cartridge Photo, both black and Photo black cartridges are not interchangeable.     I have a dell XP 530 and using a printer AIO 926. Great work expect half the time it crashes when I want to scan something. It gets to 98 or 99% then stops. I have to finish the program, then shut down the computer and restart to try again. It scans very well to a fax. I went to the control panel and clicked on scanners and cameras, and then clicked on Wizard scanners and can analyze every time using the scanner Wizard.

    Scanning problem is only when you use Dell all in one Center to try to sweep.

    Scanning works very well when the works using Fax and large printer...

  • I have a printer all-in-one HP Photosmart 5520, running Windows 7 on an Acer netbook.

    I have had this printer for 8 or 9 months and have been printing with this 3 or 4 times a week. I changed the cartridges twice. My black cratridge began printing sporatically and I replaced it with a new cartridge. (it was almost empty)

    Now, nothing will be printed in black. I ran the cleaning cycle twice on the new cartridge without success. I returned to my dealer and purchase of all new cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) and installed all 4 carts and print a test page. All colours printed correctly... but not black!  I printed again the diagnosis Page print twice and printing clean cycle twice without success.

    Does anyone have and suggestions? The unit is still under warranty.

    Hi Geoff, I would recommend that you contact HP support by phone immediately. It is possible that you need a replacement for the printer.
