Setup of Windows Server 2012 cannot find a place to store temporary files

I am trying to upgrade Windows 2008 R2 DataCenter Windows Datacenter of 2012

I use the image en_windows_server_2012_x64_dvd_915478.iso - unpacked on C:\ or engraved on DVD

DVD - upgrade is not allowed and I am referred to operation of installation of Windows 2008

At the start of upgrade, I get the blue screen with 'Install now' followed by not referred to the Microsoft forums several times:

Windows Setup cannot find a place to store temporary files... Error code: 0 x 80070490

There is a lot of space in Windows 2008 records, also on the startup disk, I created a large partition (16 GB) just in case where.

It does not help.

All messages on this problem - I didn't yet have those associated with AHCI - not sure the relevance/importance.

The material is an old IBM Intel Xeon 3 GHz 64-bit server.

Any idea is welcome

Error code 0 x 80070005 usually indicates that you don't have enough privileges or the operation is blocked. I know, some programs (Boot Camp on a Mac PC, etc.) is not compatible with Windows 7, if you have installed these programs on the computer, you may not be able to perform the upgrade.  You should uninstall these programs before upgrading. In addition, such a question may be related to UAC, I recommend you turn off UAC in Windows Vista, if you have installed security software, try uninstalling the security application as well.

  • Cannot find the default folder named temporary file where downloads get automatally sent to download.

I have an acer aspire one.  It stops on its own and won't stay on.  Sometimes it turns on but the screen does not do anything, but the backlight.  I'm on the view of web acer and found my exact problem.  I need to load the BIOS update and install it.  I tried to doload, but the file went in a folder called temporary files automatically.  I can't find temporary file anywhere to open the BIOS download. can someone tell me where is hid it temporary file that Vista uses to default downloads?
my name is tom.  Thank you

There is no default location for downloads - usually the location is selected when you click on the "Save" button and then you know exactly where it is.  I guess because you know the name of the file you downloaded.  We will do a COMPLETE system for the file search and then we'll find out where he went.  If it does not find the file, then download has failed and should be tried again (this time trying to pick the location where it will be saved).

To search for the folder C: whole disk in Vista go to start / search and type in ' or '. As you type, you'll see two hyperlinks appear just above where you type and we'll search everywhere.  A click on it.  Who will do a fast indexed search and bring up a dialog box.  Click on advanced search.  Click the drop-down location and find the C: drive and click on it. Check the box "include not indexed, hidden and system files (might be slow).»  Then click on search.  You will now search your entire hard drive to the specified file.  And Yes, this isn't a very effective way to search the entire disk for a file but it is how it is done in Vista.

If this does not work, then try to search for temporary files (you are of course on the name - it doesn't seem right to me) which is probably the name of the folder where it was sent using the same process as above and see if you can find it.  If more than one rises, see each one until you find your file.  If it is through Internet Explorer, and then see the following for the location (although I am not sure if this is the place for which you're searchinng): http://www.milincorporated.com/a2-temporary-internet-files.html.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello Experts,

I try to install WLS10.3.6 on MS Windows Server 2012 (64-bit) SP2 with generic Setup.

    1 installed jdk1.7 (jdk-7u80-windows - x 64)

    2. then ran wls1036_generic.jar

    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_80\bin > java-D64-jar D:\SW_Installers\06.Weblogic\wls1036_generic\wls1036_generic.jar

, I get the above error message. Attaching screenshot. http://www.use.com/FpC0P

    Can you please help?

    Thank you

    Benoit

Just to update, finally ran wls1036_generic.jar. Problem was probably related to the virtual machine.

    We were in-

    C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_80\bin>Java-D64-jar D:\SW_Installers\06.Weblogic\wls1036_generic\wls1036_generic.jar

    Error - a

Cannot create the temporary extraction directory in the default location.

The temporary extraction directory is the Windows temporary folder. The location is-

    Folder - %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp where %UserProfile% - c\:users\ [acctname]

But when you run start > run > %Temp%, I see.

C:\Users\ccbgso\AppData\Local\Temp\2--et error was a drive is not accessible.

And \2 was the problem, because there is not C:\Users\ccbgso\AppData\Local\Temp\2.

To correct this error, we did it-

    Start > run > Regedit > hkey_current_user > volatile environment

    And found 2 below.

Chosen the 2, then the two TEMP & TMP sought in the right pane.

    the values were - C:\Users\ccbgso\AppData\Local\Temp\2

Right-click each & click on modify, remove the \2

    Clicekd on ok.

    Disconnected and re connected.

    And then ran

    C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_80\bin>Java-D64-jar D:\SW_Installers\06.Weblogic\wls1036_generic\wls1036_generic.jar

This time, he began the extraction and 'Install Oracle - Weblogic 10.3.6.0' Welcome screen appears.

    Thank you best regards &,.

Hello, I'm having a problem with access to files shared on my Windows Server 2012 Essentials on my Dell Inspiron 1100 running XP Pro SP3 I changed all my computers in the workgroup of names to match NetBios servers and all my other computers have access to stocks with the exception of the Inspiron 1100 trying to access in the sharing I am told that I do not have access, I am not offered a prompt to enter a user name and password I am simply denied access. Does anyone know how to get around this problem or fix the issue fact XP and issue with Server 2012 or vice versa. I can access the server to office assistance remotely, but not shared folders which seems strange to me. I've already posted the same question on the TechNet site too since it's a server issue but I find that you can easily post there and receive no help, so that never but I find that almost every subject I posted here, someone has at least made an effort to help with your problem.

In fact, I created a user account on the server and the XP client gave them both the same user name and password and now I have full access to server shares. I have often continue to try while you wait for answers and find my own solution.

  • New TS140 - cannot get Windows Server 2012 demo of R2 to install

    Hello

I recently bought the TS140 and attempted to install the demo of Windows Server 2012 available from Microsoft.  I completed the following steps:

    (1) engraved an image ISO for the demo on a DVD.

    (2) load on startup the thinkserver DVD format the disk, download updates and prepare the installation.

    (3) at the end, I put the DVD in the drive.

Despite the DVD being burned successfully, the guard TS140 eject the DVD and asking for the disc.  Issues related to the:

-Someone installed via the demo and can give advice on the process?

-Is the DVD of the right way to go or should I go with another method as a USB?

Sorry, I'm use to the insertion of a DVD and occurring start installation.  Try to install after the initial drive of Lenovo is causing me some confusion.

    Thanks for your help!

First of all, thanks to all for their persistence I managed to do the work.

Basically, if you download the ISO of the evaluation version, YOU cannot USE the native Windows ISO burner.  When I copied on a drive and had Windows burn, it just don't understand the disc.  However, when I used the Windows store software specially set up the server:

    http://wudt.codeplex.com/

He worked very simply.  I am extreme newbie, so it was difficult.  If you have purchased a TS140 and try Windows Server, follow these steps:

    (1) copy eval on the Microsoft site.  They have like 10 files to download, but you only need one ISO.  I don't know how the other files.

    (2) use the ISO burner of the Microsoft store - its registered for use with Windows 7 but worked like a charm.

    (3) use the boot (ThinkServer Easystart) disc that comes with your server, or as a recommended download the most recent copy.

    4) go through the steps.

    (5) when you are prompted, insert the new drive of Windows Server R2 2012.

    (6) it must go through the installation.

Once again, thank you for not giving up, and I hope that my instructions about help an absolute beginner.  Probably simple for experts from the server, but I've never used Windows Server (other than Windows Home Server which was awesome, but abandoned!)

  • Graphic driver Intel HD in Windows Server 2012

Hey guys, I downloaded Windows Server 2012 through Dreamspark yesterday and installed on my desktop. But the system cannot identify the Intel HD graphics 2000.When I try to install the official driver for Windows 8 to Intel. An error window came out and said that "the system does not reach the installation requirements.

Could someone help on this problem, please? I expect Windows Server 2012 for a long time and this problem has made things stuck. I can't use my HD display at a very low resolution.

    Thank you.

Uninsured, I don't know exactly what a thing make you laugh. No matter you believe it or not, it's here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21180&lang=eng

As I already said, what I find funny is the fact that some people like to say things like: "they have been waiting for Windows Server 2012 for a long time..." As it was the most important thing in the world, and as they wait for so long - it is a situation of fire for volunteers drill, they ask to.  It is the exaggeration of the issue that I find humorous.  Always, always will exist.  People think if they fall a few names, to mention a few things that make this situation 'important' for them - others will be more willing to help.  Often, this is the case - the human nature.

Back to the part that mattered...

"This software package will install the driver for the Intel® WHQL Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 and® HD Graphics 4000/2500 for Windows 8 * Release Preview."

Intel has drivers on Windows Server 2012 for other devices, but obviously not for the one you look at.  Just because they have one for Windows 8 does not mean it will work in 2012 Windows.

Your problem is with Intel and what drivers they offer, not Microsoft (as I said already.)

The drivers that you linked are for the Preview Release (foot) of Windows 8.

If I were you, I would try all the drivers Windows Server 2008/2008 R2 for the product in question.  Although my quick research shows that none occurred for this chipset (probably because Windows Server is not a market that intel pushes for this chipset)-Yes, then I suggest to try the driver for Windows 7.  Using a Windows driver 8 beta is obviously NOT to give you the desired results.

    Try the Forums from Intel.
