several screens on Mac Pro 3.1

Hey people,

I want to use three monitors on my Mac Pro 3.1.

Recently, I added a GPU (NVIDIA Quadro 4000) to my current ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT.

The reason was that I wanted to take advantage of cuda for Adobe CC treatment.

Which has caused problems with Premiere Pro especcially. Out of the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT has solved these problems.

If I can't use the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT with the NVIDIA Quadro 4000, then does make sense to get a second NVIDIA Quadro 4000?

Would be happy for some advice.

Thanks in advance

OS X 10.10.4 on Mac Pro 3.1 - 24GM RAM - Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz - NVIDIA Quadro 4000

A second NVIDIA Quadro 4000 would be perfect. You can also get a Nvidia card with three exits.

  • With the help of a big screen on mac pro 2006

I have a 2006 (original) mac pro with 3 GB of ram and nvidia 7300gt graphics card. I use it for design on photoshop and illustrator. However, its screen 20 '' (aluminum Apple Cinema Display) is not big enough to see everything in one piece. "

I plan to get a larger screen (27 "or 34"), but Im worried if my gpu can handle them.

Should I expect somehow a better gpu? Or can I find and buy cinema display of 34 "this time? Both are very hard to find.

There are recommendations that you could do?

    Thank you.

The size of the screen diagonal is not relevant.

Your current graphics card can support a screen up to 2560 x 1600 pixels on its dual-Link DVI port and an additional display up to 1920 x 1200 pixels on its DVI port to single bond.

  • Mac pro (end 2013) forget screens - 6 monitors

    Hello

    I have a 6 monitor Setup, with different resolutions 3 x 1080 p + 2 x 2160 x 1440 p p + 1. On most days things work very well!

I only put the display to sleep. When I wake up the screens I often lose the position of windows, if anyone has a suggestion would be great, but this isn't why I created this post. My real problem is that lately, with Yosemite, the Mac Pro was forget a monitor or two, as in 4 or 5 of the 6 monitors turning on, it is pretty boring because the only way I found to fix it is to restart (several times), having thus everywhere reconnect.

System Preferences-> display-> Option + Detect poster tent, but the success

Monitor Off, then on does not work, same behavior

    * Tent, but without success means that the monitor turns on, says no signal then goes back to the stand-by

    * I had to use the "Mini to Dual-Link DVI adapter DisplayPort' in the light of the 6th monitor, she lit up not otherwise

On the this Mac-> poster SEES SIX SCREENS

So, the system sees the monitor, I can move windows, it just does not shine there.

Is there a technical document somewhere that can help me get out of it?

Ideas? Things to try? Suggested wiring?

  • MAC PRO MULTI SCREEN OFF ROAD...

Bus (20 gHz bandwidth) is a MacPro Thunderbold2 (end 2013) combined with AMD over-pants 300, allow the connection of 2 screens UWQHD at 60 Hz?

    (A) knowing a MacPro announced limitation:

Use multiple screens with your Mac Pro (end 2013) - Apple Support

    (B) successful personally tested the following configuration:

"Connection to a 34" UWQHD (3440 * 1440) display as a secondary screen on Imac27 ' Thunderbold (mid2011) port using a mini Display Port to Display Port cable.

This configuration bridges for the limitation of the AMD Radeon of 512 MB of the Imac27 (mid2011).

However, he has worked to keep a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

    (C) does anyone at - he tried to connect 2 * 34 "UWQHD (3440 * 1440) poster on the Bus Thunderbold 3 1 (ex: TB1 and TB2 ports) using a mini Display Port to Display Port (or native TB cable if TB screen like LG)?

And this configuration works at 60 Hz?

Final goal is to connect 6 UWQHD 34 "screen on a Mac Pro at 60 Hz.

    Thanks for your comments.

I could now test the following configuration:

2 screens on bus 1 to on the Mac Pro:

    Eizo ev2750 1 (2540 * 1440) on the TB0 port using an miniDP/DP cable

    +

1 LG34UC88 (model LG with no port of TB) in 3440 * 1440 on TB1 port using an miniDP/DP cable

Both work at 60 Hz non-interlaced.

I believes that this positive answer my own question here above even if it wasn't 2 * 34 "UWQHD (it is always above the spec announce Apple).

However, I have 3 questions to void it please:

Q1: Anyone know if the AMD over-pants 300 since the Mac Pro supports the technology 'free' for the synchronization of AMD.

AMD sent me to Apple because it seems Apple develop its own driver AMD cards used in Mac.

    (no answer until now...)

Can Q2: Someone please explain what benefit we can get using a screen offering a port TB compared to a screen offering a port DP (the two being connected on a TB on a Mac port)

It seems that we will get no graphical difference, but that the native CT will wake up faster than the RFP and offer chaining (for connecting a USB key or on the screen a light on the Mac).

No confirmation will be welcome, thank you.

Q3: Is it possible to change the TB on a Mac Pro parameter to tell the machine than on a TB specific port (ex: TB1) cable (and thus the signal) is DP.

This would shorten the time to a screen using DP cable on port of TB of awakening. Thanks again.

    Best regards

  • Mac Pro freezes on the screen saver 10.11.5

Have a Mac Pro and have a problem when the system freezes and locks up and must power cycle back.    He had related app so tested, but also happens with no apps running third and now thinking seems to be related screensaver.  I have turned off the screen saver and will see what happens now.  However, someone else has the issue of the screensaver crashing the OS X on a Mac Pro to 10.11.5?

No, I have not heard of this.

You do not all apps of third parties running in the foreground, but can still cause the problem. Boot in safe mode (hold down the SHIFT key when starting) and see if the problem persists when the screen saver is used.

  • Question screen Mac Pro 2013

Hi, I was wondering if someone can answer this.  If I add a 3840 x 2160 and a 3440 x 1440 display.  How many other monitors I can add, and what would be the max resolution?

    I know I can run 3 x 4 k with a 30 Hz, but I can run 2 to 2560 x 1440, in addition to the above?

    Thank you

for the black cylinder Mac Pro, it's six total screens. Up to three can be Hi-dpi.

More than two screens "legacy" uses all the ability to operate "legacy" displayed directly or on simple adapters. All over need adapters that have re-drivers of signal in them, sold as ASSETS adapters. They used to run about $ 40, but a recently reported user get some for MUCH less, so perhaps there is Production of Volume behind some of them finally.

Poster "Legacy" is something other than the Mini-DisplayPort or direct conversion [size] DisplayPort port from which the HDMI if you choose to use it.

  • Big screen for the new Mac Pro

Looking to buy a new Mac Pro.  I like to work while sitting on the couch with my feet supported, but a laptop is not very good for usability, and my neck has had enough.  So, I think trying to upgrade a number of things and to combine the entertainment center with work stations, so I can do both comfortably from my couch.  Ideally I would love it if Apple made a gigantic Retina display, but as they do not have, my current theory includes a 48 "-52" class 4 K HDTV connected to a surround sound via HDMI system, which hangs in turn a blu - Ray player and a Mac Pro via HDMI.

If someone has done something similar?  I'm assuming that, unlike the old flat screen TV model at work sometimes I mirror my iPad on, a 4 K Pixelize text.  Is this correct?  Or should I still the same problem?  As far as the projectors are a pain, which is the only really good solution here?  Any other question, I would need to know that displays the parameters or incompatibilities if I went with the 4 K HDTV?

May be useful to take a look at http://www.macrumors.com/guide/4k-5k-displays-buyers-guide-mac/ which covers the 4 K screen with Apple hardware support pretty well.

You will encounter one of the limits is the HDMI output on the current Mac Pro supports only 4K at 30 Hz not full 60 Hz, which we are used to on most screens. You can watch a form of Thunderbolt to the HDMI connection for display to work properly at 60 Hz.

  • How do I get the normal home screen on the Mac Pro?

I upgraded the graphics card in my 2008 Mac Pro, which has also bootcamp, but now when I want to switch it to Mac OS X I have graphics cards, boot in OS X with my OS X disk selected, restart and then it will stay, instead of being able to hold down the option key pressed during boot to get the drive selector. Is there a file I can change so that I get the Apple boot screen and the drive selector?

Sounds like replacing the graphics card is a regular PC and not a Mac-Flash card. Only one Mac-Flash card will show a splash screen and allow the use of the Option, special recovery and other startups.

Some mac-flashed it maps to select the PC or Mac equipped with a switch mode

Do you have what graphics card installed?

So, after years of waiting for Apple to make a screen that mocks use of the capabilities of the Mac Pro, I gave up and bought the Dell UP2715K 27 inch monitor UltraSharp Ultra-HD 5 K.
