Sevice Pack 3 download crashed my computer.
Service Pack 3a automatically downloaded, changed my settings, created a restore point and asked me to restart my computer. I did, but he could not restart. Got an apologetic error page suggesting I have boot into Safe Mode or the last feasible settings.
Did this, went to the point of restoration SP3 and still will not re-start. Went to my restore point prior to getting this message and Automatic Updates tries to download SP3 again me. Is there a problem with KB951066, KB950974, KB950762, KB946648, Ko 923561, KB2229593 or XP Service Pack 3, which all appeared in this Restore Point after download?
Hello

Hi BSRC$, in stock
- You have security software installed on the computer?
- You receive an error message when you restart the computer?
Reinstalling Windows XP to the factory setting would not be the first option.
It is possible that some third-party programs or the services installed on the computer interfere with the installation of service pack 3.
I suggest that you try to uninstall service pack 3 from the computer by using the recovery console and subsequently ask the article below for what to do before installing the service pack 3on the computer.

service pack 2 download the 8007371C error message
What should I do to get this service pack to download? Suggestions please. I tried 3 times now and has failed every time.
The only thing I can say is that you perform a repair - installation
Run a repair installation will restore the current installation of Windows to the version of the installation DVD. This also requires the installation of all the updates that are not included on the installation DVD.
Note Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.
To perform a repair of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 installation, follow these steps:
- Close all applications and restart the computer.
- Insert the Windows Vista DVD or Windows Server 2008 DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.
- In the settings window, click install now.
Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
- Click Start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box start the search .
Note The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.
- In the list of programs , click Setup.exe.
- In the settings window, click install now.
- Click Start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box start the search .
- Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
- Type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
- Click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
- On the which type of installation do you want? of the screen, click upgrade.
- When the installation is complete, restart your computer and try to install the updates again
NB: As you already have SP1 for Vista - step 7 (method for Windows Vista), the * UPGRADE option is not available because SP1 has been installed. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537
Make sure that you back up your important things first. Then run Windows Update to catch up on all the updates up to SP2.
When you're offered SP1 install, then continue until you're offered SP2 and then install it. I hope that all is well.
Uninstall SP1

This problem may be due to Norton or other software. You can restart the computer and check. If all goes well, you should be able to boot to the desktop without any problem.

Dual monitor crashing my computer
Hello
I am currently under a dual screen setup with my monitor and a separate screen. It seems to work fine for a while and then all of a sudden my computer will start to act up, and then it will go to the blue screen of death. A small window pop up at the bottom left says there is a problem with my video card driver, but I have updated their and still get the same problem.
Info:
Laptop - Toshiba Satellite M300 - 4 GB RAM - Vista Home Premium
Screen - Samsung SyncMaster 245BW
Graphics - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card
Also, I checked the information page on the ATI website for this video card, and they even state it supports dual monitor.
Thanks in advance, Scott
EDIT - if I remove the VGA cable connect my laptop on the screen while my computer crashes, it will return to normal after a second or two. However, if I try to plug it back in then it will take to crash my computer.
Hello

Hello, I've installed various games on my computer like in Garry's Mod, and several other 3-d games that work perfectly does well without Firefox, no crashes no problems.
Several of my games (exception is minecraft), whenever I have firefox running and all, it will just crash my computer. Black screen instantly, without warning, just instantly everything turns off. I scanned several times, I have no virus and the games work normally without firefox. But what would firefox do to cause crash with them on my computer? Is it possible to fix it?
Well, has gained stability, promising. Creates a new profile and restore the settings of Firefox, then Yes, you would probably lose these tabs.
How many legs were open? I have a creeping suspicion that the number will be medium high, losing them is a real threat (why not use a bookmarks folder?). If so, might want to focus on reducing that number or see if cancellation of preloading would help stability... Nevertheless, prolonged megatabbing seems unsustainable.

Updated Thunderbird automatically updated last week. It crashed my computer (not only the program) whenever new e-mail notification area came. I have disabled notifications. This helped, but if my computer loses its connection to the internet, Thunderbird crashes. The program is incredibly slow and unstable. When I click on an email, I find myself with parts of two windows. Finally, the system catches up and the screen looks very good. If I try to write an email, I get again some parts of two windows until it catches up.
Thunderbird has been among my favorite of all time programs. I have used it for years and have never had any problems until this update. Help!
Theresa, sorry for the delay. KenHowieStudios said
Thank you for your suggestions. The problems disappeared when the computer (Windows 7) and Thunderbird have started/opened in safe mode. What should I do next?
