  • How by-pass iCloud for photos of digital devices?

I recently upgraded to an iMac 27 "new and I want to spend all my photos my old computer.  My old system was a Mac Mini that I never used iCloud on because the internal drive was small so I stored all my pictures on an external hard drive.  A majority of these photos were taken with my digital camera.  I know that you only have 5 GB of space free iCloud and my photos are much more than that.

How can I keep my photos on my computer without them going to iCloud?  I use iCloud for pictures taken with my iPhone and my iPad so I don't want to disable this feature.

Go on your Mac in Photos > Preferences > iCloud. There you can "download for Mac originals" where they will be offline. I hope this helps!

  • using iCloud for photos

Decided that I would try using iCloud for synchronization of photos to all my devices - ipad and iPhone.  A simple and way big to keep all the features of update of the sounds.  I followed all the directions for setting this up and find that this more complicated that we shouldn't.  I finally got some pictures in the library iCloud for my computer, but of course they do not appear on the iphone or iPad.  I apparently won't implement the iphone or the ipad properly.  I think I tried everything I could find on this operation, but nothing works. For some reason when on the iPad and try to access the iCloud.com with Safari, I get the message that the server is not responding.  When you do the same thing on the iPhone, it connects but it takes me to a window that says "Setup iCloud on this device."  Seems weird like iCloud is already on this currency.   Bottom line is that I spent hours too much try to do the job as well as to purchase more space icloud. I might have to overcome my 8 year old grandson to help me.

Yyou don't use iCloud.com to display your photos on your iPad and your phone, you use the Photos app with iCloud library active, just like the photos on your Mac.

  • iCloud for photo library

    Hello

I decided to download all my library of Photos of the iCloud. I bought the 200 GB storage plan.

I recently bought and started using a new macbook El Capitan running and using Photos for my replacement of my old iMac running iPhoto. I also have a MacBook Air 2 and iPhone 5 s, which are connected to the cloud for all my photos.

I copied all the pictures of my old iPhoto library in my new photo library.

My new belonging Photos is about 67GB and is stored on a HARD drive and I started to download on my storage iCloud about 24 hours ago.

I followed the progress and the very small bar sometimes shows that she is not progressing and then will start to make further progress. He is currently "Download" and indicates less than a quarter full.

Where can I find the estimated time remaining? Why is capricious and sometimes indicates that nothing is downloading?

I checked that my internet speed and I'm at a speed about 4 MB/s download.

What I have to disable all programs and applications on my mac to copy a little faster? I have to do something for my other devices to increase the speed of copying?

Tips or advice would be a great help because I'm not 100% convinced that this will copy successfully, and I may have to go back to the use of the HARD drive for my library of Photos.

    See you soon!

    Terri

It is quite normal that the download will require several days.

My library with 40000 photos and videos took a little over a week to download in iCloud.

There will be periods of time where you will see no visible progress. This can result from the conversion of the elements in a format compatible with iCloud, for example, if your library contains many videos.

Just let it run and not to interrupt, or download will start and be even slower, because the second time, the library must be compared to the elements already in iCloud.

  • Turn off iCloud for photos

If I disable iCloud on my iphone for photos will lose my pictures and my videos? He tells me I can copy everything first, but I don't have enough space on my phone to make a copy.

Of course, if you have not registered on your computer, then when you remove icloud they will be gone - what else could possibly happen?

Before you stop iCloud you should download all the photos that you said

  • storage icloud for photos.

We have the ability to store our photos in icloud, but noted that if all the photos deleted in the device will automatically delete the backup of these photos in icloud. I really wonder of using icloud here. Icloud do same as economy or remove photos in the camera, why do we need to use icloud?

    • If my storage device is 16 GB how 50 GB of storage icloud will benefit a user?
    • Anyway is to store the photos in icloud regardless of deleting photos from device?

All valid questions and points you present!  iCloud is not designed as a platform for storage on traditional cloud for backups.  If you are looking at that, and I highly recommend do you, after some preliminary research, then you should consider these options for third party such as Dropbox, Flickr and my personal favorite Google Photos.

iCloud is designed so that all your pictures/videos are synchronized and accessible on all your devices.

Whatever decision you make, good luck!

  • Is there an optimal resolution for iCloud sharing Photos

Is there an optimal resolution for iCloud Photos sharing on computers, iPad and Apple TV?

I want to scan photo album my grandparents to share with my friends and family. I scanned a few pages of test at 3200 x 2000 pixels. They have look great on my Mac and look great on an iPad also. I want to future proof them for 4 k and recent televisions.

Is the size of 3200 x 2000 pixels too small, too large or OK?

If you want to transfer photos using iCloud shared Albums, photo sharing, they will be transferred from smaller - the edge long will be at maximum 2048 pixels, unless they are panoramic.

I would scan the photos to a pixel size you want to keep for reference, so you can print them in a format you like - 4000 x 3000 pixels or more, and when you share with iCloud, sharing photos they will be slightly reduced in any way.

  • Why can I not see my photos on the icloud for my Ipad?

When I was upgrading my ipad to the updated software it hung.  I've been back up my photos to the icloud for more than a year, but they do not appear here my ipad or all of my devices families shared?  Why is this?

I have the setting all put there to store and backup is more than 5 GB.  My ipad is now frozen in the State that he wants to find a factory setting and I'm scared, I've now lost over 4000 photos.  Help!

You should check iCloud.com, Photos. If you, the pictures are stored here they are uploaded to the iCloud (and will be downloaded to a device if you connect).

If you don't see all of the Photos, they are not in iCloud. You can check if you have a backup (on iCloud or iTunes) but if you do not have to guess they're gone.

Regular backups to iCloud do not include photos if iCloud library is set on "on".

  • Download multiple photos to iCloud for iPhone

    Hello

I'm trying to find a way to upload several photos at the same time of the iCloud on my iPhone. I took a folder from my computer Windows 10 and placed in the iCloud folder. He did download all these photos, about 100 of them. I opened icon iCloud, since my iPhone Home screen, and all the photos are in the folder.

The problem is, I don't see a way to download the photos on my phone. I can select several pictures, but I don't see the possibility of moving photos from one place to another within iCloud. If I open a photo it will then allow me to save the image on my iPhone, but I don't want to have to do it manually for each photo.

Is there a way I can move the entire folder of iCloud on my iPhone without doing this manually? I don't want to have to open each image, click on another icon, then click on save to the phone option, it would take a very long time.

If option 2 would just directly connect my phone to my computer and download the file to my phone via iTunes. However, it seems that this option is no longer available. When I selected my phone from iTunes, as if I want to sync my phone, but click on the 'Photos' option on the left, there is nothing that shows. The only thing that shows a message says "iCloud Photos is on. iPhone can access the photos in iCloud. Photos can be downloaded to your device via Wi - Fi or cellular network." It used to be that if I placed a folder in my photo album on my computer, it would automatically put this album on my iPhone folder when I did a sync via iTunes and is no longer does that. I don't know if there was some option that I disabled or if it is no longer do.

Someone has suggestions on how to easily do so that I can keep a clean and well organized album without a lot of hassle or everything is mixed together, or without having to save each image individually?

    Thanks for any help,

    Zines

Instead of using iCloud Drive, add those photos from your PC to the photo library to iCloud. On your phone, with the same identifier Apple and iCloud library enabled, photos will be sync to iCloud on your phone and stay in the synchronized.

  • iCloud, sharing photos for Non - iOS users

So, I use iCloud for about two years now, and it does for the most part, what I want and need to. However, whenever my family and I go camping during the weekend, take a vacation or just to Barbecue a Sunday afternoon, we have a ton of photos on a large number of devices. For the wife and children, this isn't a problem since we have all of the iPhones and use iCloud. But, it seems that we are facing a problem whenever someone on an Android phone has a few pictures they want help or like to download some pictures that we have added.

Y at - it an easy way for non - iOS users view and/or edit albums shared iCloud without going through a several-step process (transfer of office, download third party app, etc..)? It is my understanding that an Android user should be able to display/change via a web browser, but don't seems to work. I looked at other cloud services and apps, and major issues, in that I continue to run are:

1: having to pay another Cloud Computing service, when I already pay for iCloud is not economic.

2: I find a lot of the photo-sharing applications and services give a lot of storage, but at a cost to the quality of the photos. My wife and her friends are always doing something creative with your impressions so even some 'high quality' compression can degrade enough make it unusable.

3: I have a hard time to ask someone to download an application, not to mention of asking them to pay for one. Nor am I comfortable someone jump through hoops, just so that I can watch through a batch of photos in the hope of finding one or two which are useful.

So, is there an easy way to do it, or I'm stuck or wait for Apple to understand a feature like this would be useful or leave iCloud for a solution amicably more cross-platform? I do not understand that Apple needs to focus on the development and support of applications and services for its ecosystem and customer, but would it not make sense to make it convenient for outside users to have a great experience too?

I don't know what problems you encountered but the sharing Web site works fine for me.

  • Can I use iCloud for storing photo backup?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if it is possible to use iCloud as photo backup storage. I have a lot of pictures on my OS 10.7.5 and save them on the cloud. Is this possible? is it possible even with an older version of iPhoto?

    Thank you friends mac colleagues.

    Ana

No iCloud by itself. You can save the images on iCloud drive, but then they are just images randomly without structure, unless save you them in a kind of files that will help you organize them in the drive.

If you want to archive and save photos, you should be import on your computer, or you must use a Cloud service of archiving such as Dropbox or Google Photos. It is the only way to store your photos.

    Good luck
