Shared SAFARI bookmarks

My personal favorites are gone replace with my favorites of iMac owners. How can I stop it and get my personal favorites: my personal iPhone has affected both my laptop at home.

Two or more users are sync Safari with iCloud, while it is connected with the same Apple ID. At least one must disconnect from iCloud in its window of preferences and you connect with a different ID. If you want to keep sharing the same ID, please uncheck the box marked Safari that in the preferences window.

  • How can I synchronize Safari bookmarks to iCloud account different?

We have two iPhones with accounts separate iCloud, as well as a few Macs.  Both Mac and iPhone share an iCloud account and have their Safari bookmarks synchronized via iCloud. But we would like another iPhone be synced to these favorites (probably not possible, I imagine), or at least to export bookmarks to another iPhone iCloud account, so they could be synchronized for the iPhone. I know how to export Safari bookmarks in Safari bookmarks html file, but how do to the account on another iPhone iCloud?  Would be sharing family take care of this?

Why not to export the bookmarks in a folder on one of the workstations, then after logging in with the ID you want to sync, transfer it into the folder recorded in the ID?

  • Restore Safari bookmarks without time-Machine?

    Hello, all the

Out of nowhere, one of my main folders Safari bookmarks disappeared. I'm a fairly knowledgeable Mac user and have no idea how they were deleted.

I do usually external manual backups readers when I did some import an audio works and not very often otherwise (if I don't have a backup from a few months ago) but I added several important bookmarks since it went past 'poof '. It is also a way of saying that I have never set up Time Machine.

So, how can I restore my bookmark.plist over current (tonight) without Time Machine. I know that Firefox - when I used to use it - kept many old .plists and you could scroll just to find later. It seems that Safari would keep much as well even without Time Machine configuration. At least I hope so.

  • Safari bookmarks file is missing

    OS: Yosemite 10.10.5

    Safari V9.1.1

I had a folder in my popular called bookmarks. It was visible on the taskbar Favorites at the top of the window.

It contained all my favorites work.

I just noticed he disappeared and does not appear when I open "edit bookmarks".

Of course, I want to find him.

I read some old threads on bookmarks disappearing, but even if I can find the bookmarks.plist file it looks like my folder missing isn't there.

Any help to find out if it is still a popular place. I think not that I have a Time Machine backup, unless there is an auto backup?

    Hello oldsailquik,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see your message that it turns out that a folder of bookmarks on your computer has been deleted by accident.  If you have no backup, then you can always try and retrieve bookmarks, as long as you use them with iCloud.

Restore your Safari bookmarks and reading list

    1. Go to settings on iCloud.com, then click on restore bookmarks (in the Advanced section).

Versions are sorted by date and time that they have been archived.

    2. To the right of the version that you want to restore, click on restore.

There may be several versions that can be shown at once. Scroll to see more.

Note: Wait until iCloud finished restoring your bookmarks from Safari and playlist until you change them. While they are being restored, any changes are not saved.

Restored bookmarks and playlist will appear on all your devices set up for iCloud Safari.

iCloud: restore your contacts, calendars and reminders, or bookmarks

    Have a good.

  • Problem of Safari bookmarks

Safari version 9.0.3, El Capitan 10.11.3

Earlier today, I moved a folder (named Music Making) in my favorites, but then when I opened it in its new location all the bookmarks that were in the folder disappeared. To recover bookmarks, I replaced the Safari folder in the library with that of a backup from a couple of days. That seemed to fix the problem, but then restored some time after the bookmarks in the folder music making had disappeared again. I tried several times the same thing in the case where I did something wrong, but every time that Safari seems resets automatically moving folder and deleting bookmarks it contained. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Peter

Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

    Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist.  Move the .plist on your desktop.

Restart your computer, open the application and test. If it works fine, delete the plist for the office.

If the application is the same, return the .plist where you got it, crushing the latest.

If this does not work, go back to the Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist. Repeat the above.

Thanks to leonie for certain information contained in this.

  • These folders in safari bookmarks back after deletion

I struggled to delete these 3 files in my favorites

    1 BookmarksBar

    2. the wish lists

    3 games

I don't know where they have appeared. My Safari is enabled in the settings of iCloud, I delete them and they come back a few seconds. Even renamed puts back them to their original name. I do not think that default Safari bookmarks should contain these files especially the Games folder.

I tried to disable Safari in iCloud and empty my favorites then, but once I turn on Safari in iCloud settings, these files continue to come back.

Is there a way to delete these files? What is? Is there a way to reset the bookmarks in iCloud because I don't have a lot of bookmarks?

Try going to your device settings/Safari and web compensation data.

  • My safari bookmarks get scrambled

My Safari bookmarks got out of order.

The tabs are okay, but within each tab, they are now out of use.

If I try to rearrange manually, I get a message saying:

    "You cannot change bookmarks now.

If I go to iCloud settings and uncheck bookmarks, when I check the box again, it says that if I want to merge with iCloud.

I say Yes and I get my favorites return, but they are still more disordered.

If I delete the library Bookmarks.plist file > folder Safari, I get my favorites right back, but after a few minutes, they become out of use again.

What should I do to keep them in the order I want?

PS: I think it started to happen a few days ago when I shut down my computer, and when I started my computer once again, a series of pop-up ads appeared asking me my iCloud password and other passwords. Which I entered correctly. I have a MacBook Pro with the Mavericks. And the latest version of Safari.

    Thank you.

  • Safari bookmarks will be synchronized to the iPhone

I have a little less than 100 Safari bookmarks on my Mac. They are set to sync via iCloud. My iPhone (which has no bookmarks in Safari) is also set to synchronize Safari bookmarks with iCloud.

Problem: when I turn on synchronization of Safari in iCloud, any of the bookmarks from my Mac show up on my phone.

    Troubleshooting steps...

-Log off and then log on both devices iCloud

-Toggle Safari synchronization on iCloud on both devices

-J' I select "merge" when when you connect to iCloud on my iPhone.

M ' ensure both devices have the right internet connection (range 15-150 Mbps to 5-75mbps download speeds) and a couple of days to sync between logging outgoing/incoming (tested on 3 different wifi networks for 8 hours a day for 3 weeks)

I've seen a lot of discussion on this from at the time of the release of the iOS 6 (2012), but I've not seen all threads that mention this problem occurring between iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 (2015). So I did find all threads with solutions to my problem.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

After 4 weeks, I fixed that by following these steps:

    -Backup iPhone (for Macbook)

-Restore the iPhone and set up like new (that is, do not restore from a backup)

-(Login to iCloud when prompted during installation)

-(Une fois à l'aide dele de téléphone): make a backup of iCloud. (Settings > iCloud > backup > Back Up Now)

-Go to settings > iCloud and disable Safari (choose 'remove... ("When prompted)

    -(Attendez la fin supprimer)

-(Wait until the backup is completed)

    -Turn off the iPhone

    -Turn on iPhone

-Go to settings > iCloud and turn on Safari (choose "Merge" when prompted)

My Favorites came in seconds (I have about 100 bookmarks and I'm on wifi with speeds of 15mbps.)

What's weird: I tried this several times over 4 weeks (and people at the Genius Bar tried that as well) and this is the first time that it worked.

  • How to force Safari bookmarks in Sync?

I bought a new Macbook this summer and to quit using my old one. It has always worked well until I bought a new one (slow, but it worked). I had one last week, and most of the time everything worked well.

I was able to connect to the App Store to run all OS updates.

My iCloud drive synchronized all my new files.

    iTunes home sharing works fine.

Safari tabs same cloud connects and updates as usual.

But Safari does not update my bookmarks or playlist. I waited about 3 days so he could do something, but it is not, and there is no button "sync" to force it to.

    Any ideas? Thank you.

Try to go into System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing.

Have you tried the signature to iCloud and then reconnect?

  • Safari bookmarks

I have Safari 9.1.2 and any time that I open it the bookmarks on the left side bar opens, make my screen relatively (and annoyingly) smaller. It also happens if I click out of Safari or open a new tab. I googled on all senses in the sentence of this question and came up empty. I have a MacBook Pro retina 15 inches, end of 2013.

Open Safari and click on the Favorites menu, and then click "hide bookmarks.

Note that bookmarks hide bookmarks menu works differently from the Sidebar icon show in the toolbar which will allow to show or hide the sidebar for the active tab.

  • Lost folder Safari bookmarks

Safari 9.1.1. : I was a change in editing very simple bookmark to bookmark files - by changing the order of the folders so a folder was closer to the top of the list because of its importance for me.   Received an error message that says could not do it because the favorites were the synchronization, please try again in a few minutes.  WAITED 5 minutes and moved the folder closer to the top of the list.  However, when I opened that folder of bookmarks, the bookmarks disappeared.  It happened after the synchronization message.  What is causing this glitch and do for restore missing bookmarks

You can only restore the entire file of bookmarks to a previous state. It is not possible to restore the individual bookmarks.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:

    ~/Library/Safari

    Quit Safari.

    Select

    Go ▹ go to folder

in the Finder menu bar. Paste it into the text box that opens by pressing Command + V, then press return.

Should open a folder window. Restore the file named "Bookmarks.plist" in this folder from a previous backup of the changes unwanted.

If you don't have such a backup, but the Favorites are still present on an iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) device that synchronizes with iCloud, then see below.

Save your iOS devices. Turn off sync iCloud Safari on all devices except those. Quit Safari and delete the bookmarks on the Mac, and then enable synchronization Safari on it. Launch Safari. Bookmarks must synchronize icloud.

  • Can't import Safari bookmarks. Not "import" option anywhere.

Using Firefox version 34.0.5 on Macbook Pro running the Mavericks. Try to import bookmarks from Safari. Go to bookmarks - view all bookmarks and there is no option to import or backup. Also true for the tab file in the menu bar. No option to import.
