Sharing network Variable not in Distributed System Manager

I have experience with LocalHost.   I have 2 computers A, B.  A, I can read a created/static SNV of B.  However, I need to use a SNV on A to A (I don't know why, I inherited this project and it is not at all commented).  So I create and I see it on my drive D:\\.  However, when I go to NI DIstributed System Manager, there are no library under localhost.  So I write in a VI and call it in another, and I get "DataSocketRead in VI" with the code 56.  Don't know why I can't have it is the Manager.

I have attached ahev the library in case something wrong here.

Have you deployed and right click the shared variable library?

If it's an executable in the bulder properties you should check to deploy shared variables.

  • Published the network Variables not accessible by other computers on the network

I am trying to create a system where a computer will display network variables that can see any computer on the network, this includes a person bringing in a laptop computer and the connection for a short period.  So I was looking through a large number of forums to find an answer and tried many solutions and nothing has worked.

This is where I am.  On a single computer if I update a variable network it appears on the DSM NOR (Distributed System Manager) under which the name of the computer and I use this variable and it is updated.  Any other computer connected to the network also appears on the DSM.  On the other computer, he sees the first computer in the DSM, but cannot see any one of the variables.  I also register the IP address of the computer, but it does not help.  If anyone has had this problem and know how to fix?  I had the same problem using my code for the project and the example code in the shared Variable Comms between Executables.Ivproj.

    Thank you for your time

I had some problems lately with the network stream. I know that this isn't nearly the same as shared variables, but it uses the same underlying process in windows. In my case, it's the windows firewall in Windows 7 that has the problem.

  • reconnect the stall network of shared network variables

I have a cRIO unit communicates with a laptop using shared network Variables, one of them being a table of 21 index which is buffered.

The system connects and communicates very well, but sometimes the wireless laptop card is to lose the signal from the WAP, attached to the cRIO.

In this case the network never shared Variables "reconnect" and start to receive values still once the wireless link is restored.  Is this expected behavior?

When I tried to use other WAP industry instead of the card laptop wireless, I get no abandonment.

    Hello Ryan,

Please contact National Instruments!  I looked into the problem you are having and I wanted to ask you a few questions more.  First of all, you have a period of time which allows the reconnection?  I believe that the Shared Variables should find the connection after a short period, but it may not be a very quick process.  It may take a few minutes to the Variables shared to reconnect.

The other thing that could happen is if you have error son being passed by shared Variables, it is possible that the error is not be deleted, and so he will always see the error and not a so never reconnect.  In this case, you will need to filter this error and then clear the error in order to use again shared variables.

If you have more specific information about your program that can help us to determine the reason for this behavior.  As a screenshot of your code would be useful.  Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help you.  I hope this helps!

  • Load/CPU Distributed System Manager

    Hi all

I just finished real-time 1 training where I learned about the Distributed System Manager.  Then, I deployed a project Veristand and watched.  For me, what I see, it's disturbing, but I'd appreciate your opinions.  While watching the processors, they seem to be occasionally exchange of charges autour.  Veristand project should be "slowed down" meaning that the HIL is not yet turned on, if the PXI chassis should be executed (2) models and custom devices (6) in a stable condition.  There is a good chance that all 6 custom devices work call loops (that I just learned is not recommended).  Also there are moments where two of the proccessors slowly seem to swap loads (in the attached zip) rather than the wobbly behavior below.  Any ideas?  Is - this inidicative of an unhealthy system definition?

CPU scheduling is an interesting topic, and although deliberately threads to different processors can affect the determinism of a system, RTO Scheduler can and will move threads to different processors at different times. Moral of the story, what you're seeing should and fine as long as the use of a processor not individual rail.

Now, if you want more control, VeriStand gives you the ability to control where to run most things. You specifically mention templates and custom devices:

Models - you can specify, on a per model basis, what basis they run on. See "Processor" command on the model configuration page.

Personalized custom - Inline peripheral devices will be running on the same core as the PCL; Custom asynchronous devices (which I'm assuming yours are because they use call loops) will run on what basis you say them.

  • Network controller not recognized by Device Manager

Device Manager cannot recognize my Dell Inspiron 15 network controller. It is marked as an unknown device.

Can someone please direct me as to where I could download the driver network controller, if indeed that is what is needed for the Device Manager to recognize the network controller.

My Dell is unable to locate any available internet connection and I think it has to do with the network being not recognized controller

    Thanks in advance.

Have you also selected the right operating system before downloading all the drivers from there?

  • Alias of IOV Distributed System Manager

Is it possible to see the IOV alias name and the name of the physical channel

a cRIO channel?  The Project Explorer displays cRIO channels in this way and

would be nice if the DSM would do that also.  Otherwise if you track down

a bad transducer on a high lane count module, you will need to list the

    channels in your head.

One possibility is to look into the following file stored on the cRIO system and extract the information from there.

    C:\NI-RT/config/variables. XML

This file contains simple XML code, listing all the IOVs in the current configuration of the cRIO system.

The attached sample project shows how you can read and analyze the information directly on the cRIO system. Of course, you can also copy (FTP) this file to the host and analyzed it.

Note: Scan Engine Channel Info Plus.vi included in the sample, download its own bitstream on the FPGA to determine which modules of series C are located in the cRIO chassis. So this VI cancels and replaces any current FPGA VI running on the cRIO chassis. Use this VI cautiously because it can cause serious problem in your application due to the interruption of the FPGA.

This example uses the reference for the CRY component library to retrieve information about cRIO current of the system hardware.

  • Embedded FPGA vi - network shared variable not updated

    Hello

I work with an ethernet RIO 9149 of data acquisition. I use a hybrid programming mode.

I have a very simple FPGA VI that I downloaded on the flash memory. I used the indicator led to show my VI runs once the power of the RIO. Everything is fine, except that my shared network variables are not updated in the DSM ("no known values" displayed). However when I run the FPGA VI of my laptop, only once then stop and close (with 'interactive execution'), then my shared variables are updated in the DSM.

Any ideas why is this and how do I get the RIO update automatically shared variables without having to run the VI once?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I did a few tests and research and discovered that it doesn't seem to be possible. It is important to note the difference between Network-Published static (NSPV) and Variables of e/s of Network-Published.

The other are "user defined variable I/O" to communicate between FPGA and RT (RT absent on chassis Ethernet as the NI 9149) host. If these variables are checked to be published-network (in properties). They are accessible by VI running on the hosts of the same LabVIEW project, so you need to run a VI to access, as you mention. This is explained on the next page, Variable IO data custom FPGA of e/s (real-time Module or Module FPGA):

    https://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvioscanhelp/io_vars/#user_IOV

I did find a way without a host (host RT or Windows PC) running a VI. If you have a cRIO with RT and NPSV host in the RT VI it is possible.

  • Manager of distributed system 2011 messed up after that 2012 installed

So, as usual, things break when you install the new version of LabVIEW. I had not yet installed the new drivers, but the new version of MAX has been installed on my computer (it is wrapped in LV install now, rather than with the drivers?). Anyway, I went and opened the 2011 Distributed System Manager and I can't see what follows (Manager of distributed system of 2011 is at the front, 2012 in the back).

  • Real-time System Manager

    Hello world

How can I open real-time System Manager to monitor on my project of myRIO resourses?

I've already activated the VI server on the target.

If I select Tools-> real-time Module I find only "Project Wizard", "set up Time-triggered network" and "viewer of Trace".

    Thank you in advance,

    Lorenzo

The "Distributed System Manager" is an application/executable separated - you can find it, if installed, on the start menu under the folder "National Instruments". If it is not there, then you probably have installed as part of your installation - raise your LV Installer and choose to install.

Alternatively, you can use the System Configuration API to read the various parameters (e.g. CPU / memory) on the target itself to monitoring the health of the system.

  • Real-time target - change IP and shared network varables

    Hello

I create an application for the system in time real (Compact RIO).

All data between the (current running on a windows PC-based) GUI and the real time system - is transferred via shared network variables.

Shared variables are hosted on the target.

I attributed the static IP address to the real-time target.

    Now for the question:

After the deployment of the application in real time on the Rio target compact

If I change the IP address of the target: how the shared variables 'know' to connect to the target?

There is no place in the GUI (running on windows PC based) I set the IP address of the target.

So I change the IP Address of the target (and for the sake of argument if I change the IP address of the PC, but they are always on the same subnet) - how to 'know' how to connect?

Looks like a basic question I am absolutely certain I'm missing something to understand shared variable...

    Thnaks

    Hello Hazkel,

The IP address of your shared time variable real target is located in the *.aliases file when you create an executable file, you will need to change there.  See the example below:

  • My network controller is not displayed in Device Manager - Acer S7. How can I get the application system

I have Acer S7 391 sytem 9413. The blush of network controller seems to have disappeared. It is not listed in Device Manager. I was hoping someone could advise how I can get the system to recognize it again.

    REDA

    Ethernet controller tree is empty?

If so, the only thing you can try is to restore the factory deafult your OS (reinstall) and check to see if the network cards.

If this is not the case, there is probably a hardware problem.

  • Network and sharing Center will not be open in the Panel

I've been away from home - where I HSI and it works very well - for a few months, I plugged to the network sporadically awireless (sometimes just bad signal), with a lot of frustration.  A few days ago, I went to a place where I could connect to a hard (secure) wireless network and enjoyed the smooth navigation for about an hour.  Later when I tried to connect to the smaller network, unsecure, I couldn't open my network and sharing Center. Whether from the drawer or the Control Panel, a screen opens displaying nothing, but the circle of rotation.  The TASK MANAGER IS REQUIRED to CLOSE THE PAGE - it will not answer the close box. TM shows the centre network and sharing as 'running', although there is no indication on the screen, except the title and the circle of rotation.

My laptop is a dv6t Pavilion with Windows 7 (64-bit)

All the other files in the Panel seem to open and operate normally.

    Hello Hamanslayer

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand the network and sharing Center will not be open. I will do my best to help you! If please launch and center network and sharing, and wait for him so that he can provide an error. In addition, please try to run Centre network and sharing in a different user account. If you don't have one, create one.

I did some research on this issue. Unfortunately, the only reliable troubleshooting that is remaining, if the above does not help, is to reinstall the operating system. Too, there are different issues that could be causing it. Reinstalling the operating system will focus on each of them.

First, please save all the files you need. You can find specific steps on how to proceed in the following HP document: backup of files (Windows 7)

Once this is done, you can safely reinstall the operating system. I'll also give you a document on how to do it: perform a recovery of the system (Windows 7) HP

Please let me know your results. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • network variable will not work with VBAI 2010 and windows 7

    Hello

    In fact, I have a problem with 2 EVS-1464 (windows 7) and VBAI 2010.

I have to use network variables to allow the communication between two electric vehicles, but I can't use it. My network is ok (I can ping between the two facilities) but I can't (t access the network variable.

    I did a test with VBAI2011 EVS / VBAI2010 PC windows XP--> it works. (but I don't want to use VBAI 2011).

You have solutions to solve my problem?

    Thank you

    Ulysses

    Hello

Here are several documents that might be useful for you:

    Using the LabVIEW shared Variable

    Troubleshooting network-published static Variables

How can I use shared Variables to transfer data from Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI)...

You can also try something. To do this, you must go to the EXE VBAI here:

    For 32-bit machines:
    C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\Vision 20XX\ VBAI

    For 64-bit machines:
    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\Vision VBAI 20XX\

Right-click on "Vision Builder.exe", and then select Properties.  Make sure "run this program as an administrator" is checked.

Click OK, and then try to rerun VBAI. You may need to redeploy the variables in the variable Manager until they work properly.

    Kind regards

  • "the service does not exsist as an installed service-" File Sharing/networking

I am running Vista x 64 Home Premium and have recently had problems with my file sharing-printer sharing network discovery-Media Sharing. For the last 8 months I run my Xbox Live through my computer laptop Ethernet to log-on Xbox Live connection and had no problem connecting. Recently I went to connect and was not able to connect my 360 * to the internet via my Ethernet connection. I checked my network & File Sharing settings and noticed that ALL my "Sharing" Options have been disabled. When I tried to turn it on I get "service does not exsist as an installed service. The only thing that works is the password protected sharing. I read almost all the options resets and sfc.exe and led to no result. When I run the sfc.exe program it gives me the final results of some files have been found to be corrupt, but have been unable to solve the problem. I can't locate my Vista recovery disc after moving so I won't be able to reinstall to factory set up. With regard to the system of recovery for some reason that I can't go until this situation occurred because of some settings which apparently changed.

  • How can I connect to the internet? Problems involving the network and sharing Center does not.

    Hello.
I live in a House and bought a range extender so that I can get a connection in my basement as well.  I have installation range Extenders without problem.  When you install the range extender, I changed my name to my network router.  I changed the name of the network by typing 192.168.1.1 in my browser.
The MacBook connects without a problem.  In the basement, the connection of Windows 7 works very well.  I have just connected Vaio Windows 7 my mother to the network, but it prompted that I enter the user credentials.  I read a post above and got that problem solved by opening the network and sharing Center and adding a new connection.  Now that the connection is configured correctly.
The problem is with the laptop HP Windows Vista family basis.  Since I install the range extender, I can't connect to the network.  He had no problems before you connect the router or other networks to visit other places.  The new network name appears, but when I click it, it says I have to enter the user credentials.  I tried to manually, but the name is taken so I can't make a new and invites me to connect to the network that is established or to connect to a different network.
    • I tried to open the network and sharing Center, but it does not open.  When I click it, it opens a screen for a brief second.  The option "Display the status of network and tasks" opens either.
    • I logged as an Administration by entering the command line < net="" user="" administrator="" ctive:yes=""> > and restarted the laptop.  Even logged in as administrator, this folder does not open.
    • I also did a scan < sfc="" cannow=""> >.  The digitized rolled up with an error, but the error has been corrected.
    • I also updated the connection of the range extender.
Why the network and sharing Center will not be open to the top?
How can I configure my router my HP Windows Vista Linksys connection?
Thank you.  Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks for your reply.

In a last attempt, my sister has used the ethernet cable to connect directly to our router.  Next time, she turned on her laptop, she managed to connect to our wireless network and she was not invited to enter credentials.
In this case, the manual connection helped solved the problem.
