Shockwave Flash 20.0.0.235 set to update automatically, however...

Under December 2015 Adobe Security Bulletin, I wanted to check my previous Shockwave Plugin update and viola! It was already updated to 20.0.0.235 in date from 12/08/2015. Great! That said, I also noted that, under the foregoing to day was a previous November 2015 Shockwave 19.0.0.245, still in place... a bit strange, nespau? I'm wrong, but the new update should completely replace the old, do not install the older version of again and remain status quo? Doesn't seem to be a problem in terms of performance, however, I would be recognizing opinions as to whether the latter should be removed manually, or left as that is.

See attached screenshot.

Thanks in advance.

First try to restart Firefox if it was running when updating Adobe Flash Player. Sometimes the Flash Player doesn't have older version on Windows.

You can use the uninstaller to uninstall Flash Player, and then install the current version.
https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html
https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Make sure Firefox is not running / closed before uninstallation and installation of Flash Player.

  • Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.235 keeps crashing / failing.

Whenever I open a Web page in firefox, IE or even google chrome my Shockwave flash crashes. Especially in firefox. I tried to update, uninstall, reinstall, clear my cache, restart firefox, through each troubled shockwave shoot of the shock wave reset cache to disable hardware acceleration, but none of this solves the problem. I can't even open my homepage without crashing at least 3 or 4 times. Thank you for your time and your help.

I've been hit my head against the wall on this for weeks. I'm at school and cannot use my computer laptop because flash keeps crashing, and it seems that almost every site uses flash. I tried to uninstall flash and my browsers, deactivation, reinstall, reboot, etc, ugh, nothing worked. I finally found this little useful information on the Mozilla site. I've updated my Intel graphics drivers (I have an Intel-based computer) and now I don't want to chuck my computer out of the bridge, the flash works again! If you have trouble, try to update your graphics card driver! This page has a few other ideas and also update the links. I really hope this helps.

  • Shockwave Flash 11.3 r300 will not be updated on the new Mac OSX 10.7.4

Running a new MAC - OSX 10.7.4 - Firefox plugin list says updating Shockwave Flash. Upgrade computer, restarted and the list still says I need to update to Shockwave.
Please can you advise why this is happening and how I can fix the problem.
    Thank you very much

You have the latest version of Flash - there is nothing more you need to do. The problem is that there is a newer version of Flash, but it's for Windows only. If the plugin check page should just be looking at the version number. I'll fill a bug report and see if this can be fixed.

  • Shockwave flash 16.0.0.235 installed, there is a security risk, cannot update

There is an obsolete page on the Adobe Flash website blocked by Firefox 35.0.1 under Windows 7. Version 16.0.0.235 of Flash is labeled a security risk, "Always enable" is grayed out. I was on the Plugins page, and there I clicked on the update now linktext. I have been informed that all the old versions of Flash in the range of version 11 are blocked. Anywhere where go to from there. (My screenshot has a piece off the coast the Plugins page over top of the resulting page when I clicked the links provided).

Obsolete page being blocked has been received and I was able to run through the download process, but in the end, I got an error.
I tried several times to download install_flashplayer16x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe, that downloads OK, and when I run it it downloads and installs Adobe Flash, then said: finishing and "There was a mistake."

Flash software Glary Utilities Update update Internet Explorer, says nothing about Firefox, now I know why. It is a mess.

I opened firefox Pei and went into the new profile Virgin I had created sometimes back. He was happily running a fully compatible version of Flash 11 (I bet that wouldn't last long because my browser's biting me in the end and disables it).

Firefox Pei and I created a new profile today. It has this crippled version 16.0.0.235 Flash.

It seems that Mozilla has an obsolete page telling me that all the old versions in the range of version 11 are blocked. No word on the newer versions.

From what I've read, others are in what concerns other browsers and come with a bad Flash, too. I don't have Firefox (well, Internet Exploder, which I cut like a piece of trash since they came out with IE 7).

    Any advice? Thank you.

This is over my head. I called the big players to help you.

  • I'm trying to update Shockwave Flash from 15.0.0.223 to 15.0.0239 but cannot but failed to get the correct link to start the process.

I had a single connection to save but that apparently has not worked. The last time time I had to update Shockwave Flash, I go to the Dell Support and they have also struggled.
Firefox is supposed to have a 16.0.0.235.
Y at - it another link to use to update Shockwave Flash?
    I had Windows 7

The last link that it affected has the ESR of updated versions of Flash 16.0.0.235 and the 13.0.0.259 for Win/Mac. http://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

By the way the 15.0.0.239 you are trying to install is vulnerable with somewhat newer version 15.0.0.242 however users who have 15.0.0.246 is not vulnerable.

  • Shockwave flash

    Hello!
I have a problem where the SWF files them won't open in firefox, IE works fine, but not for firefox for some reason which I cannot explain in detail, but I will try with a few photos as aid.

    https://ImageShack.com/i/exOUUG2vp (Fig 1)

If you look at this photo (photo 1) you see two lines for SWF applications
    n ° 1. It's 'SWF-fil(application/x-shockw)' and
    n ° 2. It's "SWF-fil(application/x-shockwave-flash).
as I see it the first looks as if it was bad somehow (not sure though). and if I try to open a local SWF file with firefox it just ask me if I want to "open file" or "save file" when the parameters is as the first photo.

    https://ImageShack.com/i/expW5N8np (Photo 2)

In this image (photo 2), I made a change the parameters of how to treat the "SWF-fil(application/x-shockw)' by saying 'Use Internet Explorer' which then works as it works in Internet Explorer first. but it won't work in firefox always (of course because it does not open in firefox with this setting).

    https://ImageShack.com/i/idPtfJhNp (Photo 3)

What I think is that it must use the one that is highlighted on this photo (photo 3), which is the second "SWF-fil(application/x-shockwave-flash)", since that's the make use of the flash plugin, which, in my view, is the first condition in the list during the second and thus cancel the opening of local SWF files in firefox , I don't know if this may be something else causing this problem.

I hope this information is useful to solve the problem. I don't need an answer unless it's something I can do myself as something reset or similar.

I have not tried in safe mode, but I don't think it will be a different result. All I ask is that someone more closely and see what can go wrong and see if they can fix it since I really haaaaate use IE for some reason any, no matter how small or large, the reason.

I'm not the kind to respond quickly if I get an answer, if I reply to everyone, so don't expect won't not me to be necessary to answer your questions if you have one, but I think with my information and images included in my explanation, I'll try to come back here and the eye/response however...

I hope that this can be corrected because I love firefox as my default browser.

    Thank you!

  • Installation of shockwave flash version 14.0.0176

    Hello there, Mozilla,...)

I just checked my modules and told me to update my Shockwave Flash. I clicked on "update now" and he sent me to a page where it sets out in detail the potential problems with the version I have and to upgrade to version 14.0.0175 that (I think and hope) he has done to date. However, when I rebooted my computer, I checked again and it still says "update now". I have to honestly admit, I'm not all that 'tech savvy' and don't know what I should do next. I would be extremely grateful if someone could get back to me with some advice on what I should do.

    Yours sincerely

    Angela M Silverwood

You use the Mozilla plugin check page?

    https://www.Mozilla.org/pluginCheck/

This Adobe test page will also show your current version:

    https://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/

It is possible to get a series of messages 'you must update' Web sites and also generated by other modules, so I suggest to check these reliable sources.

  • Why a white dot appears on the left side of the screen when I have Shockwave flash on?

The Shockwave Flash version is 11.1.102.62. The White appears on sites that use flash objects. In this case the last 3 days. When I disable this add-on disapperas dot but the flash object support.

It could be that the Flash Player has a problem of setting for the graphic card drivers. It can disappear with the next Flash update. You can also try the Flash Player Forum, users could have reported similar problems.

  • Help!  Can not go beyond "a plugin (shockwave flash) is not responding.  What to do?

This has happened for weeks. A temporary solution for me is to keep restore my laptop Win 7 SP 1 HP Pavilion to a set point previously saved restoration.  My system says I have version 2100197 installed Flash, I can't tell if it's the last?  Attempts to end pull with a frozen screen.

I think I have the latest version of Chrome installed as bars chrome do not indicate a new version when a right click.  I have activated Adobe Flash Player, a long time ago, I do not know why the failure notice relates Shockwave Flash because I don't think he's on my laptop (?).  I can't find any reference to have. On my profile in the list only the Flash Player is referenced, there is no other player competing or plug-ins.

Troubleshooting, this would be LARGELY APPRECIATED.   I'm really tired.

Cannot respond to the links in your email, but I wanted to say a big

Thank you for your time to respond to me. Your adviser really encouraged

I take the step wise approach which worked well after

about 4 days now.  All antivirus scans were clean as well as malware and software spies.

Managed to get a newer version of loaded FireFox which allowed me to remove

My Chrome program and reinstall it.  It seems that I did not have the

last program of Chrome that last seems different, despite the

claims that it automatically updated Adobe Flash player name.  He

seems that my previous version of Chrome was defective in some way and unable

to be repaired, or even a diagnosis.  I wonder how many times Chrome should be

removed and replaced to avoid conflicts?     If there is a way to give you

a 'proper' credit, pls let me know and I will.   Thanks a million and God

    Bless.

  • Automatic update of Shockwave Flash 24.0 created conflict with Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0 r0 and creates constant errors for streaming audio.

When the attempt to load Slacker today 12/13 (day of the update) get the infamous "Shockwave Flash may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the plugin now, or you can continue to see if the plugin is complete. "error. So, I check the plugins, and of course, I have 2 versions of Flash, and one is new. I have try to disable one, and it seems to work, but not music. Then, I check to see if there is an update to the browser. Yes. Okay okay, we'll update the whole browser. Missing issue? Nope. Hmm. We will try to set the old version to 'request' and leave the new version still run. Refresh the Slacker, and he just ask and ask and ask, even when I set to "Save". Well, it does not. So let's turn it around - what is it? They are both set to 'ask '. Huh. Ok... Let's see if we can get rid of the old version of 23. I go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and search for the 23 .dll file, and this is the only file there for her. Rename it to .old, back back, restart FF, reload Slacker, 23 has disappeared, no still no streaming. No popup, no lock, no music either. Looks like Slacker like not the 24 version does not work on it, but the update released most of the 23. As long as the 23 .dll file is in place, there is a conflict that causes a deadlock, so I can not just put 23 and run at the same time.

    • Update * it turns out that this issue has repercussions quite a few sites that I frequent, making it virtually unusable FF for me.

    Suggestions?

So apparently just rename the .dll for the 23 file and restarting FF was not enough. I had to rename and restart my system completely. As I said in my original post, the update to 24 deleted all other traces of 23, leaving only behind the .dll file. I'm not for unnecessary restarts when I have a stable system, and it is not uncommon for my system to go months without a reboot. That's why I really hate auto-updates to date, but these days some things up-to-date so ridiculously fast that I'm tired of things break because plugins have been disabled because they were obsolete.

Thanks for the reply and links to the uninstall program. That will probably save me some hair pulling in the future.

  • When Shockwave Flash is activated it causes flash videos trolling

I just got a new laptop (Acer) with Windows 10. In Firefox 42.0, all youtube videos play fine (because of HTML5, I guess), but the Flash videos trolling. I put Shockwave Flash plugin list for 'Never activate' that corrects the laggards. But now some videos on other sites are not at all because they need Shockwave Flash (they also staggered forward, for your information).

What do you think is the problem? Of course I want to have it turned on all the time, but without any delay.

I found the problem. It was crappy Acer CPU. During playback of Youtube videos that Firefox took the CPU to 95% most of the time and with the Flash it was even worse because of Firefox and Flash player running at the same time.

So my problem must be fixed by buying a cell phone better. That's what I get for assume that all laptop these days can run Youtube videos.

Thanks for the help, and I hope what I found helps other people also have this problem.
