  My computer has forced a reboot for an update today and after I back in all the tiles from the app (weather, photos, applications purchased in-store, etc.) had disappeared from the start screen, with the exception of desktop computers and store.   Nothing seems to be disturbed in desktop mode this just seems to be the Win8 apps.   I didn't install anything (with the exception of windows updates).   How to bring back these tiles?

  Windows key + X, select command (Admin) prompt and type sfc/scannow and return.  If it detects and repairs system files, run it again until no error.

  If this does not correct the situation, you must do a refresh install.

  After upgrade OS4 to 6.5, I created new actions and restored all my data. I was pleased with what I can handle data from the Admin page on a browser. So far so good. I also installed 6.5.1 and it went pretty smooth too. I was still able to tinker with my actions via the admin application data. But then after a reboot, no action - except the home-action - was more vissible...

  But when I signed with the admin user ID in my Mac finder, all actions were there and accessible...

  Since I have disabled support for AFP on my actions, I wasn't able to change the access rights on the shares through the viewfinder.

  (mac, being very vigilant users because SMB is NOT a good replacement for AFP...)

  Then, I created a new backup action to move the data and see if that would work. I got a copy of the data on my Mac finder, but after a few minutes the connection has failed. I restarted my mac and the readynas and I got the part back in my finder. But to my surprise, the new sharing also was no longer visible on the admin page in the browser...

  So I have no idea on what is happening. Specifically, I checked the new sharing of rights and fact admin the owner of it.

  Any thoughts, anyone?

  Hi Brian,.

  This morning the latest data was restored to the NAS. I did the restore in batches, one action at a time, for giving me the opportunity to restart the nas server after each action-restore and see if everything was still ok.

  As far as I can see, things are ok now.

  If the system works again, but I'm still in the dark about why the question arose in the first place.

  I will mark the solution like work, although a full factory reset is probably the last resolution, other people will love :-)

  I am running Vista.  My DVD drive is an Optiarc DVD +-RW AD - 5560 a ATA DEVICE.  This has happened in the past, I think that as a direct result of the execution of "update".  I am not very computer but I think it has something to do with the filters.  Dell has fixed this for me several times, but he continues to to and I would like to know the procedure to fix myself (off warranty and Dell charges a lot$ $$).  Yet once, when I click on COMPUTER, this device is simply not there.

  Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
  the question.

  Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
  Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
  This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
  
  Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
  slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
  ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
  contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
  manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

  Try these options:

  • Hard Reset BlackBerry by holding ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or removing and reinserting the battery)
  • Messages > saved Messages
  • Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  • Defiler, scroll to the top of the page of the message file, above the menu date heading, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN
  • Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  • Clean and reload your OS.

  Thanks for sharing everything you already tried... any information help so avoid redundant orientation.

  Please, dig deeply and carefully on all the home screen panels, subfolders, etc... It is easy to accidentally move an icon to a different location. Also, you dig, please make sure that "Show all" is active, just in case you've hidden inadvertently to the icon.
