  Suriya - Thanks for the help.   I had looked everywhere (I thought) for this shortcut and couldn't find it.  Now that I have, it seems to have solved the problem.

• Satellite P10-221, keyboard Fn + F5 shortcut problem

  On my Toshiba Satellite P10-221, running Windows XP, I used to be able to use the Fn + F5 to switch on my external screen. Recently, by pressing Fn + F5 the menu same as always, but the only option is the LCD. I used to have CRT and TV as an option. Is anyone familiar with this problem?   The external screen is correctly connected? Display driver has nothing to do with the FN + F5 option. Utility designed Toshiba is responsible for this.

  I have a compaq presario CQ 5720F Windows 7, I can't open my desktop shortcuts (only a little). E-mail & games will not... A notice appears saying that it is a problem of the internet and the problem of "http" but do not understand this. Yesterday, I downloaded the Java 7 17 udate and which seems to be the problem at startup. I uninstalled it but the problem persists. My computer is less than 2 years and I am technically challenged in some things on the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I see that you have problems with the opening of the desktop shortcut icons on your computer.

  I would say running a restore because the problem started only recently occurred. Here is a link showing how to do to run a system restore. Select the option "Restore Windows to an earlier point" and it will give the steps to run a restore and a video. This will not affect your files on the computer.

  Let me know if this can help, or if you don't have the available restore points.

  You can control the different characteristics of portable on different F (F1 - F10) keys (also part of the FN key): for example, you can enable or disable the touchpad or you can change the brightness of the display.

  Within accessibility you can adjust these settings to 'make it easier to use the keyboard.

  Go to control panel and click Accessibility Center and find the link to make the keyboard easier to use. Once you're there, you'll want to make sure that the boxes to turn on sticky keys or turn FilterKeys are off which simply means the feature isn't active at the moment.

  Also, you gotta click on set up filter keys or set up sticky keys (or both). Disable filter keys Popup. If you went to the filter keys Setup screen, remove the FilterKeys check box lights up when you press right SHIFT for 8 seconds. To disable the Sticky Keys Popup, uncheck the box to turn on sticky keys when you press SHIFT five times.
