Shortcuts locked on printer

I have a HP Envy 5530 all - in - one. Having followed that there a few months. I really like it, but for some reason any, when I go to print all shortcuts are locked and the only one I have to use is "User specified Print Settings". Even the general everyday printing shortcut is locked. Is this normal. Why all the others have if I can't use them. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. Oh, also when I print I have to go in the specified by the user and turn off the border thing or my impression is on the top of the page or at the top right.

Hello! Welcome to the @Pepper13 forums.

I read on how some shortcut print options are not available for you. I'm here to offer my suggestions.

First of all, please let me know if all programs do not show these options.

Make sure you use an administrator account (if you are using Windows).

Let me know the operating system you are running.

Try to uninstall the printer software and reinstall the printer.

Please let me know the results and the information above.

Thank you

  • Scanner (Officejet 7500) cannot find the computer when you use shortcuts scan to printer

When you choose Scan to PDF, e-mail, etc., by using the scanning on the 7500 buttons it allows me to select the computer on the network (each with all of the latest drivers and software loaded). However when about to the scanner and then says the computer is not found (whatever the) despite them being on and ready. Scanning by any other method of the Mac works. Automator shortcuts work very well during the tests, but they do not seem to get initiated by the scanner for scanning form of initiation of the printer itself.

Research on the support site HP and conclusion - a 'connection error' or "Computer no. detected" Error Message displays when trying to Scan from the printer control panel - as a subject gives PC solutions, but nothing for Mac. And so here I am. Help!

    JKB

The next thing to check is that "HP Device Monitor" is running.  This background process is responsible for detecting the keys for scanning applications.  If you open the activity monitor (located in/Applications/Utilities) you should see this class as one of the running processes.

It may be generally preferable for you to perform an uninstall and reinstall the HP software.  You will find in Applications/Hewlett-Packard HP Uninstaller.  Use this utility to remove the old software.  I recommend that you download and install the latest version of the software for your 7500 here: http://tinyurl.com/4voly2d.

  • Coverage for print cartridge won't lock - cannot print

Printer: printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro L7590

The cover for the ink cartridges won't lock because the "tap" is broken (see photo). Because it will not lock, I get a warning on the screen to close before that I can print.

    What can I do?

Thanks for the photo. I assume that the printer is out of warranty? A little bit of luck if you try to paste the door closed with adhesive tape so that the door sensor will read as closed? Thanks, Ciara

  • HP Officejet 4630: HP Officejet 4630 than all the shortcuts to print are locked

The printer is new and is connected via the USB port on the computer that is running a new copy of Windows 10 x 64 ('fees': I've upgraded to Windows 10 and reset the computer). The driver is from the OJ4630_Basicx64_198.exe file (so just basic pilot). I can scan and I can print a diagnostic page, but I can't print anything else. All shortcuts printing have symbols locked beside them (please see attachment).

    Thank you!

Take a look at this link.

Regarding shortcuts locked, those are the shortcuts by default HP.

You to edit & save them under your own name of shortcut.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8740: Printer OfficeJet Pro 8740 on-scan shortcuts

On our old Lexmark printer, we were able to implement "smart solutions" for common tasks. For example, some set choice of values for common jobs: b scan single color in the face of the electronic mail address (b) X the CSAA n & b front e-mail address Y (c) color duplex scan to e-mail address Z.

I finally found instructions on how to create shortcuts of the printer (the sur-imprimante those who appear via the shortcut icon on the screen of the printer) online.  But what as shown, by clicking on an icon doesn't give not any feedback to create a shortcut. No shortcut has been created.

It seems that we can manually configure the simple options faced/double-faced and color and black-and-white in the button 'settings' by job. Is it possible to store these common parameters for a shortcut on the printer?

    Hey @DogSnapperATX,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are looking to create presets on your Officejet 8740 e-all-in-one printer. The printer would have all of the features similar to what you describe.

Please let me know if that solves your problem or answer your question. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Lock screen keyboard shortcut disables the key 'l '?

Whenever I have use the windows key + 'L' to lock the computer. He keeps the key 'L' of work or because of sticking to the bottom and fill the thing entered password with characters 'L '. (good points, but I guess they are 'L'). Even when you use the keyboard on screen, the 'L' key does not work but each another key and I have even done a macro of 'L' key, but it does not work. Would probably not be a problem but my password contained an 'L' and by the looks of things, it would disable the L key regardless of whether I could sign it or not. Whenever I just restarted the computer which is quite annoying because I often use the locking function via the shortcut of privacy when I leave my PC, and I don't want to turn it back on it works when I pop off for 5 minutes or whatever.  I am quite puzzled here, especially since the keyboard of the screen and stuff on do not work. Is there by chance a way to put even a button to close or lock the pc on the home screen as a tile? Because it would be just as quick and easy to use keyboard shortcut

    4. click on Next, type lock for the name and click Finish.

Go to the splash screen, and you should see the shortcut Lock Tile that you can use to lock the computer.

You can also lock this shortcut to the taskbar if you wish.

  • No printing with a depleted cartridge capacity

    I have a printer of HP all-in-one OfficeJet 6700, part No. H711.

Guide, Chapter 7, pp. 74, section entitled user

During the one or more ink cartridges are exhausted

"If the black cartridge is exhausted, any black color in print is created using a combination of the remaining colors."

And "If a color cartridge is exhausted, the printer print in grayscale using the black cartridge."

In both cases, my printer did print when only the black cartridge has been exhausted when one of the color toner is exhausted.  The screen on the printer says 'impoverished cartridges need to be replaced to resume printing'.

Can someone explain this discrepancy? Is the guide of the wrong user or HP subsequently change its policy and lock the printer when a cartridge is exhausted?

Well in this case, it could indicate a defective product. I will say to contact support to phone to check if there are a few troubleshooting steps more who could be played.

Please make sure the cartridges are not refilled and also use genuine hp cartridges.

  • HP office jet pro 251dw: find the name of the network printer

    Hello

I want to create a shortcut of the queue for the ability to quickly cancel a print job

To do this, I need the name of printer network such as:

    C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe printui.dll/o/n HP6CC21747B66E

The above is incorrect. How to find the correct network name

    Thank you

    Frank C

I found the Brink tutorial on creating a shortcut of printer queue:
Shortcut of the print queue - create in Windows 7 and Windows 8

In my case, the name of the printer is "Printer HP Officejet Pro 251dw PCL 6 (network)"
It must be in quotes because of the spaces.

I did create it a shortcut in the location target using the following:
%WinDir%\System32\rundll32.exe printui.dll/o/n "Printer HP Officejet Pro 251dw PCL 6 (network)"

I ran a test with no paper in the printer, so it couldn't print.
I have performed the shortcut, the print job in the queue. I canceled it
    And it worked!

    Help

    emgerald

    Emgerald,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

Please keep with steps you have already done...

First you must have installed full feature software.

General instructions to install the printer software

    • Open drivers HP & downloads
    • Enter your printer model information
    • Select your printer in the list of the 'results '.

    OR

    ·         Open e-all-in-one printer, HP Photosmart 7525 drivers

    ·         Enter your operating system from the menu drop-down

    ·         Click NEXT and scroll down

    ·         Find the category driver - software product installation

    ·         Select the base driver, e-print, or a full features software

    ·         Save the *.exe installation package (s) on your computer

The files will probably save in the "folder"downloads. "

    Next:

    • If it is available, you can download print and scan doctor and / or other programs of the category-utilities

    TIP:

Install the utilities / tools first. bit installation packages are smaller in size

    • If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click" to install it, otherwise just right-click, select run as administrator and install.

    NOTES:

    ·          On the bottom half of the main Web page for your printer, you can find some helpful videos to help with the installation of the printer software.

    ·          Scroll down the list of videos back until you find the video that best fits your situation.

    • If you use a USB connection: download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
    • Ethernet: If the printer supports Ethernet, you can connect the printer to the network (and assign the printer an IP address for the router, if you wish).  Once the printer is connected to the network, make sure that the printer is turned on, and then install the printer software.
    • Once the initial installation is complete and functional, don't forget to check and install the relevant updates - check the category - updated

There is valuable information about the Web site, including manuals, pages, solving problems, and SOLUTIONS to problems, How-to's and alerts for your printer.  Be sure to take a comprehensive look at what's available.  To bookmark the page.

Setup software printer should provide an icon Printer Wizard on your desktop that you can use to "scan a Photo Document or".

    Shortcut:

If the printer icon Wizard is not placed on the desktop during installation, then you can search for the program Assistant printer on your computer.

Assuming that the printing software full feature software properly installed, you just find the program you can make your own shortcut to the printer for your Office Assistant.

    The following CAN help...

    • Open a Windows Explorer window
    • Go to C:\Program Files *
    • You might find a folder named for your printing software (photosmart 7525)
    • Navigate to the Bin subfolder
    • Search for a program called OR similar
    • NOTE: The program will NOT be appointed Assistant printer
    • Right click on this program > select send to desktop to make a shortcut

** Windows 7 may be different - look in C:\Program Files (x 86) \HP if you must, although I suspect the only program you will find there the scanner program...

Multiple scan / crop to save a characteristic single file:

There are two ways to end up with what you want, even if I have not found a way to get the 7520 (very similar to your model) to do what I think you are looking for.

I agree that it is useful to have.   If we have zillions of old photos to scan, need to scan a photo at a time - or their cropping manually - can make your brain freeze.

If the feature is available on your model, the magic is in the analysis in the Assistant printer model - and relaxation is perhaps not too much harder that separate the pictures far enough part to trigger the sensor reads what is on the glass.  It's been a while since I've done this - but I'm sure it was pretty straightforward (from the point of view of the user).

  • LaserJet 500 color MFP M575: Laser Jet MFP M575 500 - cannot print in color

    Hello

I managed a MFP M575 located in a secure Terminal room. Thus, the printer is subject to many security requirements to lock the printer and has An interal encrypted hard drive to store all of the work on.

I use a print server and the gpo to push the printer for all workstations. The print server is running on the server 2008R2 Win; all the workstations are Win7.

For some reason, I can't print color to work - any preferences printer I use. You can select colors in the printer preferences, I do not force grayscale etc.

I also tried bypassing the print server and using a direct mapping of TCP/IP to the printer. Same deal.

I also tried using the web on the web interface Jet Direct printing functionality. Same deal.

I can get the color when I run diagonistic reports directly from the printer as the test of color band and office level report.

Here, I am perplexed...  I wonder if he has nothing to do with the encryption feature? I can't access the internet from the local network, the printer is turned on, then it makes it even more difficult to solve. The printer warranty is exceeded as well.

I printed out the settings and configuring reports - I can any specific relay if necessary setting.

    Thanks in advance,

    Corey

Did you check the color settings to restrict in the built-in Web server?
