• Character style shortcut window does not work

  Finally getting around to really using InDesign CS4, I decided to define character styles. Everything went as planned except that when I click in the shortcut window, it flashes, but that's all. Nothing I go to salons and the cursor does not move.

  May be what you are defined. Styel shortcuts are limited to the use of a modifier key in the drop-down list with a key on the numeric keypad.

  It turns out that I was a fool... the keys work the way around opposes planned, so Fn + F4 does F4 and F4 the action closed.

  It actually makes much sense to point 8.1 of Windows, so thank you!

  I recently installed Windows 7 on my Eee PC 1005HA.  At one point recently, my CTRL + A to select all and CTRL-S to save keyboard shortcuts stopped working for some reason any.   Edit: I found the solution. Just kill this Lenova app "touchzone.exe" from the Task Manager and your shortcuts should work. I took it as startup applications using ccleaner.

  You must modify the Windows registry in several ways to add this feature.  You can see this place on the web on the how-to part.  There are also some third-party utilities supposed to make it easier to do it too.

• New project does not recognize my shortcuts windows

  When I go to create a new project, all the Windows shortcuts are ignored. Shortcuts are visible if I use the DOCUMENT OPEN, but no NEW DOCUMENT.

  The "Open a project" dialog box is a dialog open/save of standard Windows.  Shortcuts are available in this dialog box.  PR uses this dialog box because you open a file.

  The dialog box 'Rent' is a standard Windows browse for folder dialog box.  Shortcuts do not appear because they are files, not folders.  You will notice that any other type of file no is displayed, either.  PR uses this dialog box because you choose a location (folder) in which to store your new project file.  The new project file will have the name you put in the name field, and it will be stored in the folder chosen for the location.

  It is standard Windows stuff, and any application that opens a file dialog box to search for will behave in the same way.  It is not just PR.

  If you want the behavior to change, and then file a feature request for the control of the situation open a dialog "Browse to the files or folders", which expected to show shortcuts.

• Shortcut Windows 7 to the MS-DOS program icon will not change

  I have an old MS-DOS program that I use and I need to create a toolbar that contains a link to other programs.  However, when I try to change the icon for the shortcut, it passes in the properties box, but does not actually change the icon in the bar of tools/folder, instead I get an icon of Virgin paper.  Does anyone know a workaround or fix for this?

  What I've done is to create a command (.cmd) file using Notepad

  run and the path to the app BACK for example

  Run E:\rbase.exe

  Save it as a file .cmd or simply change the extension to .cmd .txt

  For example, call Rbase.cmd

  Then using New (right click) on the desktop, create a shortcut to the .cmd file.

  You can change this shortcut icon.

  You cannot set a path relative to a shortcut.  To do this, you will need to use something like a batch file or powershell.

• Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut for "book of the export to PDF format? (Cannot find it in the keyboard shortcuts window.)

  I would like to create a shortcut for the 'Export to the book in PDF format' command in the Panel menu books, but I can not simply find this command in keyboard shortcuts. Finding is not in what appeared to be the logical place (keyboard shortcuts > product area: Panel Menus > book), I looked at all areas of products listed on the drop-down list - but it seems that I must be missing something.

  Sorry, I agree that it is missing in action. I don't know of a workaround, unless someone has written a script. Scripts can be called with keystrokes.

• Black screen when trying to open Windows Explorer by using the keyboard shortcut

  My desktop (Windows 8) when I use the shortcut (window-E) keys to open the Windows Explorer screen will just blank and then re - opens in desktop.

  On the desktop, you can create shortcuts to open an application or a file, including Windows explorer.

  You can use the Ctrl + ESC key to simulate the Windows key, however, it does not work with a lot of shortcuts Windows default key. Sometimes you can press the ESC key first followed by the CTRL key over a shortcut key to make it work, but a large part of the functionality is lost.

  I have not tested Windows 7 remains to be seen what works and what does not.
