Should I delete app iPhoto app PHOTO in my MAC?

Hello

I am running iPHOTO APP AND PHOTOS APP on my Mac. IPHOTO should be deleted because it has been replaced?

If the answer is Yes, are there no worries all losing photos and do I have to make sure that all the images are already in ICLOUD before deleting

IPHOTO?

NO.

There is very little advantage to the removal of the iPhoto App that you may want or need later and it can be very difficult to come back - the same for the iPhoto library - remove them does not compromise the photos as there is no link between the two - but it gives very small economies, and not worth the risk in need in the future

ICLoud is not a backup and has no impact on your decision - it's a way to share a library devices one - you still need local backups

  • Should I delete iPhotos when I get the Photos app?

I have Photos and iPhoto on my iMac. I am satisfied with the Photos app. Can I just move the iPhoto application to the trash?  What happens to my library of photos, movies etc. ?

You can, but it is not recommended

The iPhoto application takes up very little space and is very difficult (if not impossible) to recover if you want or you need

And delete the iPhoto library will recover very little space- Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture - Apple Support libraries

  • Should I delete the 100 photos that I moved to Photos before transferring my entire iPhoto library of Photos?

To test and try the Photos, I moved about 100 photos in my iPhoto photo library I could try - editing, creating albums of pictures & calendars, etc. Should I delete these photos and photo projects before transferring my entire iPhoto (several GB) library in pictures? You will appreciate any help on this.

Probably - since it is not possible to merge libraries if you do not remove the library test and you simply migrate iPhoto library, you will have two libraries - one with everything you have migrated and a test library with 100 photos ≅ inside

After you import an image (.jpeg) file for the Photos on my Mac app, can I safely delete this image file to save space on my hard drive?

Yes, you can remove the file from the imported image, if you have imported the image as managed.  IE preferences in ave Photos settled on "import: copy items to the photo library" being the default.

  • Impossible to update App Photo on Macbook Air

    Hello

I tried to update the app to the photo on my mb Air.  But the dialog box indicates it cannot update the app because it has been downloaded by another user.

The story on the subject is:

    • I bought the Air MB second hand, and she was wiped out when I bought it. I bought in 2015
    • It was a factory refurbished, model 2013 and has been sold in 2014 for the first owner (of which I am the 2nd after refurbishment)
    • I have updated Photos from iPhoto and migrated all my pictures from picture.
    • I have never been able to update the Photo since the evolution of iPhoto.
    • I'm relatively new to apple products and not counted the post in discussions to fall my way through. So forgive my Nativity if you ask all the complex questions or propose a solution I should know.

Appreciate all the help I want to solve this problem.

I'd be even open to deleting the application and using another if anyone has any suggestions.

I tried to update the app to the photo on my mb Air.  But the dialog box indicates it cannot update the app because it has been downloaded by another user.

Photos for doing Mac applications part of Mac OS X and update only when you install an update to the system.

If you install the latest update of Mac OS X Mac OS X 10.11.2, your Photos for Mac will be updated to version 1.3 of Photos.

You see the error message must be trying to update iPhoto and no pictures.  IPhoto will only show on the AppStore update notifications.

Have you tried updated iPhoto to version 9.6.1 iPhoto?  Update will not work, because Apple has stopped selling iPhoto on the AppStore.  You can reinstall, if you have a version of the AppStore in iPhoto, but if you have only a CD of iLife version you'll be out of luck, see Barney user Tip: cannot be updated iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store

If you work now with the Photos for Mac News, and all your iPhoto library that libraries were migrated to pictures is not necessary to update to the latest iPhoto, however it would be nice to be able to run iPhoto on El Capitan, so try, if it works as described by Barney. But it is only possible if you have a version of the AppStore.

  • How to use App Photos efficiently?

In App Photos where can I delete pictures so that they are deleted overall? I'm creating albums and deleting photos here, but I still see them in pictures. Should I delete photos in all photo and then create an album to keep things clean?  What is the best way to manage all photos and get rid of the ones I don't want?

There is difference between "Delete album" and "Delete photo".

    • If you look at the pictures in an album and select the photos you want and enter the "Delete" key, the photo will be removed from the album, but stay in your photo library. Albums are just using the photos in the library and show them to you in different ways, but do not store your photos.
    • If you enter the key combination command + DEL ⌘⌫, the photo will be removed from your photo library and removed from all of them.

The "All Photos" album is a smart album that will still be showing all your photos in the library. You cannot set photos of 'All the Photos' different albums, you can simply add photos to albums. A photo can be added to many albums without the need of additional storage space. Any photo from your library will always be in "All Photos".  It's just a way to see them all in the same place, with photos most recently added at the bottom of the album for easy access.

After you remove a picture with ⌘⌫, open the album recently deleted and delete the photos permanently, after verification, that you have not accidentally deleted photos did not intend you to remove.

  • I can't delete app icons for my new IPhone 7, when I press and hold on the icon it shows if I want to share the app?

IM cannot delete apps from the iPhone 7 when I press the icon, he asks me if I want to share?

    any ideas?

You do not press and hold.  You press VERY briefly until the icons wiggle and X in the upper right corner.  You can remove the application.  Not all applications (for example, settings, photo, Messages, pictures, clock) can be deleted.

  • If I copy and paste an image file (jpeg, for example) in the folder of photos on my Mac, is it automatically imported in the Photos app?

If I copy & paste an image file (jpeg, for example) that I downloaded from the internet to the folder of photos on my Mac, is it automatically imported in the Photos app? Note that the picture on my Mac folder is the folder that contains the file "Library.photoslibrary Photos".

N ° you must actively import photos with the file-> import... command.

Given that you can delete the file as soon as it is imported - if you have the copy in the library checked preferences - I use a folder called 'imports' on my desk to separate files that I'm importing. Once they are imported files into the import folder can trash.

  • Is it safe to delete my iPhoto, imported at the opening libraries and now imported to the Photos?

A few years ago I imported my two iPhoto libraries into Aperture, have stopped using iPhoto and have used Aperture since then.  Now I imported my Aperture library with Photos.  Is there a reason why I can't delete old iPhoto library?    My Aperture library is 400 GB, and the two combined iPhoto libraries are 80 GB, so it would free up a place.  Then, I would delete the iPhoto example program.  Thank you!

If you use iPhoto is no longer, so there is no reason why you can't delete libraries. Photos and opening should have their own libraries. Just be sure to have all the photos transferred to the Photos. Once deleted, you cannot recover the library unless you have a backup somewhere.

You can do the same thing with opening if you are not using.

  • Drag 'n' Drop video of MacBook Pro app Photos Adobe first CC

I was able to drag and drop Photos and videos from iPhoto to old Adobe first Mac OS version.

Unfortunately, the Mac Photos app, I can't drag and drop Photos and videos on Adobe first CC.

If drag ' Drop is no longer an option, what is the fastest and easiest way to import video into Adobe first CC from various devices (is to say GoPro 3 + black, iPhone 5s and 6s, RED, iCloud, family sharing, etc.), while managing the material through Photos Mac app.

    Thank you!

    Hi Cave Canem,

If drag ' Drop is no longer an option, what is the fastest and easiest way to import video into Adobe first CC from various devices (is to say GoPro 3 + black, iPhone 5s and 6s, RED, iCloud, family sharing, etc.), while managing the material through Photos Mac app.

Choose file > export from Photos. Export the movie or photo file in a separate folder. Import items to the folder via the media browser. Sorry, I couldn't find an easier way.

    Thank you

  • iOS 10 cannot delete apps from the iPad 2

Cannot delete apps in the usual way. Is there a software patch or other procedure?

What happens when you try? Have what troubleshooting you tried? Have you checked to see if you have enabled Restrictions that would prevent you from remove apps? What app in particular you are trying to delete?

  • Configurator 2.2 blue will not delete apps.

I've just updated Configurator 2 v 2.2. Before the update, I was able to explore and remove applications from blue by selecting the action-> action-> delete-> apps. Now when I do that, it is as he tries, but then it closes and no open list. It still works very well if I select an iPad and do the same thing, and it also allows me to add apps. It looks like a bug.

Update: I also tried to remove and don't reinstall the Configurator, still no good.

  • Export of large amount of Photos App Photo

I have a large disk RAID (6 to) and work to consolidate all my media here. I already have other media on the drive, but want to move the photos I have in iCloud.

There are approximately 9500 photos and 200 video files that have resulted in about 35 GB. I tried simply drag / drop, as well as the App Photo export function, but no method seems to be able to manage demand and stops just after a minute or two.

I would rather not export a few hundred files at once. Is there a way to copy the photos on the external hard drive from outside the application? I am familiar with the Terminal command line interface and not intimidated to use it, but simply don't know not orders to get there.

    Technical specification:

The Mac Pro (6 core XEON w/16 GB RAM) is connected to the RAID via thunderbolt. My current Mac Pro drive has about 200 remaining GB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

You use iCloud photo library and if so have you optimized photos or original on your Mac
