    Hey amaury Muñoz.

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forum.

    1. can you please tell us the model number of your computer?

    2. is there a built in webcam or what is the model of your webcam?

Can you please give us a little more detail on what is the specific error you get when you try to use the webcam?

Check if you have the drivers installed for your webcam.

As you say that it is a Dell computer, you will need to go on the http://support.dell.com website to download the driver of your webcam installed.

    Click on support and drivers.

On the next page, it asks your name and your number.

Select the exact model of your laptop.

This will bring up the option to select your operating system. Choose Windows Vista or Windows Vista 64-bit.

A webcam installed usually appears under the software - multimedia, but it may be different for your model.

You can choose to install now or download. Once it is downloaded and installed, then test again to see if your integrated webcam works.

You can also contact Dell for support, since this is a brand new computer. Here is a link to Dell's Support page options:

  • Satellite R630 - integrated webcam does not

    Hello

I hope someone can help me.

My built-in webcam on my Toshiba Satellite R630 spontaneously stopped working in the last two weeks.

    I tried:

-Check if it is enabled in the BIOS and there is no option to select a webcam here.
-Restore my laptop computer to a previous state when the camera worked. This no longer works.
-Updated the driver for the webcam - it installs the driver but then it disappears and nothing happens.

A few things that it might help to know:

-In Device Manager, "imaging devices" are missing, so I can't find the driver for the webcam here.
-J' used to get a pop-up whenever I turned on my laptop which was loading a webcam bluetooth but saying that he could not. This stopped happening; I think I turned it off in msconfig.
-It is not a hardware problem
-Yesterday, I had a weird time breakthrough - I downloaded an app on my phone to try to use it as a webcam through bluetooth. I had activated bluetooth on my phone and laptop. I plugged my phone into my laptop and the pop-up the camera bluetooth (see previous point) came, but this time worked without the error message. However, instead of my phone works like a webcam, the blue light came next to my integrated webcam and who has started working. I thought it was fixed then all closed and ejected my phone and webcam stopped working again. I tried to repeat this sequence, but with no joy.

I'm really frustrated and ideas. Can anyone help?

    Hello

If imagine device isn't listed in Device Manager, it means that the module is not found. Even if the driver is not installed, the module must be included in the BIOS as imagine device, unknown device, etc.
    But this isn't the case

So I think there are two possibilities: the module's fault or the connection between the module and the motherboard (Controller) isn t put in place.

As far as I know the internal webcam module is connected to the USB controller.
If the connection drops (cable) the module will not be recognized in Device Manager

From my point of few, it must be a nuisance material

    > Is it the camera attemtping completely uninstalling then reinstalling?
    Of course!

You should first go to Device Manager and need to uninstall the driver.
You must also remove the software from Control Panel-> software

After that, you must clean the BONES and the registry using CCleaner. It s tool free google
Then restart the laptop several times and reinstall the webcam software.

  • Satellite U400-119 integrated webcam malfunction

Hello everyone, hope you can help me with this problem.

I have a * Toshiba Satellite U400-119 * with built-in webcam which worked GREAT until one day she decided to give me a black screen everytime I turned on it. It's all quite normal, but instead of me show ME on cam window when I'm in front of it, it is all black. However, when I take a snapshot with the camera it gives me a picture with me on this subject with all the background as it works perfectly well. However, in mode Webcam live he keeps gives me a black screen.

I don't think that there is nothing wrong with the lens if not that the instant test not would not have worked. I should also mention that I tried to record a video with her and it is for me the noise but the screen remains black too...

Put except that I tried to update the version of webcam, but it seems that I already have the latest version (UVC 1.7.175.0123).

I'm not very computer literate, but I'd appreciate it if you could try and help with simple terms ;)

    Thank you for your time.

"Restart the computer or cam" gears. I uninstalled the driver 10 times and the updated driver, but not the camera works and is not presenet in Device Manager.

    Hello

Before performing a recovery facility, you should try to update the driver for the webcam and the BIOS. The two you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If it doesn t work you must run an installation recovery and in the worst case, the hardware may be faulty and you will need assistance from an authorized service provider.
If your laptop is still under warranty, the repair should be free.

  • 15 - n010TX: my HP Pavilion does not detect the integrated webcam

    Mr President.

I have an integrated webcam which worked perfectly until recently. My laptop came with Windows 8 in 2013, and I upgraded to 8.1 Windows. However, now my computer is not able to detect the integrated webcam. I know that it's a software problem, because the material could not have been damaged.

I tried to install software youCam"with the help of the HP Recovery Manager, and it was installed successfully. However, when I open YouCam, it does, "no available camera detected. Please check if the camera is connected and try again. Even Device Manager has no other choice "imaging devices". I guess that something disabled the webcam, and for some reason, no driver is able to turn it back on

I need to get this camera working. My product name/number is 15-n010TX. Please let me know what I can do...

    Thank you

Try a hard reset as follows:

    (1) remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    (2) press and hold the power button for more than 15 seconds.
    (3) plug the DC power adapter (leave the battery for now)
    4) press the power button

  • Webcam driver missing

    Hi all

My presario cq60 111em with integrated webcam now has a problem when l launch youcam a message appears that the webcam is not reconised and I can't find it with the Device Manager, wondered if the driver is missing ideas.

    Xorex,

    OK ideas...

This link at the bottom of my first post has all the standard "Difficulty" of solutions...

Here's the skinny I learned here on the forum:

    Read, read, read...

This forum is full of stories of webcam... You can find: the hotfix, if there is one, is usually in the update of the driver.  Go to the search window and type "webcam."  Sort by date, if you wish...

    The capers of Bios:

Sometimes - apparently - there is a BIOS update that fixes it.  I'm not a fan of the BIOS update unless noted.  You must be sure to update your bios with update YOUR bios.  Download the update to the BIOS of your computer and not someone of another link Web site.   If you do this, you'll be fine.  He can't fix your webcam, but at least you don't turn your computer into a fancy, expensive paper weight.  We have some very good experts HP here on the forum that can (and do) recommend BIOS links and they can trust: my point is do not use a link to someone of another computer unles this computer corresponds EXACTLY to your computer.  If there is an update to the BIOS of your computer, it will be the Web site of your computer and you can find it easily.  Once again, it may or may not fix the webcam.

    The son and other misfortunes:

The other thing that happens to these webcams is that they fail sometimes simply due to material.  Sometimes it's the small wires that are loose.  If your laptop is no longer under warranty and you have the skills to do it, you might consider to disassemble the laptop and checking the wires.  This is not your average employment DYI - this is another way to make a fancy paper weight, cheap if you don't know what you're doing.  However, it is not on the upper end of difficulty as repairs go.  Some laptops have hardware very good manuals online, and there are a few very good videos YouTube there on repairs.

    It SWAT:

There is a story (here in the forum) about someone who killed her webcam into submission.  It is not recommend it and admits to anger management issues - it's a testament to this problem of loose thread.  I bought a dv7t last summer and had to return for repair: webcam is DOA out of the box.  It's sad.

    Sneak to the top

Sometimes, it's the WAY the driver is loaded.  You might be able to fool it.  Try to install it from SWSetup (how you did this time) and it starts.  IF it is a software, you will be able to NOW, delete it and then install the NEW one since the version downloaded .  NOT the SWsetup a new website - DELETE one that you have.

Were still hesitating?  Always in the hope it is software?    Get in the Device Manager, remove the driver - delete it.

Clean the registry. Reset.  Install the driver downloaded on the Web page.

    =====================================================================================

Registry Cleaner, CCleaner (select and install the free version):

    http://www.Piriform.com/ccleaner/download

    NOTES on registry cleaners :

Registry cleaners won't usually hurt - however, whenever you assign the registry with changes, you risk your system stability.  CCleaner includes the offer to make a backup of your registry before making any changes.

If you choose to download and install another registry cleaner, please Uninstall CCleaner.  One of these things on the system at once is enough...

If a Registry Cleaner does not offer to make a backup before making changes: don't forget to EXPORT you the registry manually before using the vacuum cleaner.  If something happens that you don't expect, you will have an extra layer of protection allowing to withdraw.

IMO: Stay away from Registry Mechanic.  I had this on my systems - it is cleaned, removed, eliminated and dropped in the bucket zeros.  It is a personal Opinion.

    =====================================================================================

Give up and buy a Clip on:

I've written a few posts on this angle.  HP made a good (buy them a cheap, it's a waste of plastic) - Logitec makes great webcams... There are others.   Just do it and move...

If I come with anything else useful and magical, I'll add it!

    Good luck!

    It's my pleasure to help.
