Should I remove Windows XP machine UStorsrv.exe?

Original title: OK now. Can I remove Windows/system32/UStorsrv.exe I asked how to find and great answers and point of view.

What happened one day on my Gateway brand computer using XP Home Edition 32 bit, I tried the site of coupons for store coupons and found a UStorserv.exe trying to connect to the Internet from my computer, and I went looking for it when I found it, this UServerv.exe had a phone icon.  I found it here on my Gateway computer and somehow mangaed to remove and never see him again. But below in my first question, responses seem to say that this is not a malicious software program.  At the UStorserv.exe that appears with the phone icon when I went to use the coupons, com, after visiting the web site of Safeway grocery store same as described below.

My original question:

I use the award-winning McAfee anti / protection against computer viruses. Recently, I did a full scan of the computer and chose the custom level to make sure that I hit the specific files or any file not being left behind.  When I went to view the report he read that the C:\Windows\system32\UStorsrv.exe could not conecting Internet under "Oti Content Service.  Don't forget to remove the UStorSrv.exe once before from another computer, I can't seem to find on Dell Windows XP desktop computer.  Do you think that he is a ghost of McAfee reading, or this really UStorSrv.exe exisits?  I want to find, and a search of the files produce no result, although hidden files were not analyzed in the research

Hi ricpatdc,

Do you use flash drives as USB storage devices on your computer? If this is the case, these file may be a part of it and have been installed during the installation of the drivers for the same.

UStorsrv.exe is used by some USB flash drives that support encryption.

UStorsrv.exe is a process associated with certain encryption enabled USB storage devices.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

    Google search more Internet and paste said: ustorsrv.exe is a user program called and a normal part of PC operations. No action required.

    It's really no need to copy and paste from the Internet.

    I think if you have installed the OTI application and use it, I don't think you want to delete.

    What types of USB storage devices you may be using?  Cards, USB sticks, external hard drives?

    My opinion of McAfee is less favorable, but if you searched your system for the file and did not and you are not looking for the hidden files, maybe, you need to look for hidden files and see if you can find it.

    Then you'll find it or you won't find it.

    If you are looking for all the files and folders, including hidden things and can't find it, and pointed out that McAfee, McAfee has a problem.

    If you are looking for all the files and folders, including hidden things and are and are suspicious of him, and then transfer it to some sites which analyzes individual files and scanned it by 60 + analysis of software (including McAfee) and see what results.

  • How to remove "Windows Mail"

    I have a Toshiba laptop and "Windows Live Mail" and "Windows Mail", how do I remove "Windows Mail" from my computer.

    I've been in the program Install & Remove Control Panel, but can not find all titles with "Windows Mail" to remove. ?

    Rick

    Hello RichardShiel,

    Windows mail is installed with the Windows Vista operating system, and therefore cannot be uninstalled. Surprisingly enough, it cannot even be disabled via the Windows features turn on or off the option programs and features.

    However, if you have the version of Vista Ultimate (Please note that I edited this post like initially, I said Pro and Ultimate; it was incorrect, my apologies) you should be able to disable through Group Policy.

    1. press on the Windows and R key to bring up the menu run.

    2. in the Run menu type: gpedit.msc

    3. If you do not have gpedit on your version of Vista, you receive an error message. If you have gpedit on your machine to the Group Policy Editor is now displayed.

    4. once the Group Policy Editor is open look in the left pane and click the option for the Computer Configuration. A list will now be expanded.

    5. then add to the list under administrative templates.

    6 look down this list and develop, the Windows components option.

    7. look in the right pane and scroll down until you come to Windows Mail.

    8. double-click on that.

    9. you should now see two options. (a) turn off the function of communities and the b) disable the Windows Mail application.

    10. double-click on the option turn off Windows Mail to open the Properties window.

    11. in the Properties window, click the active radio button, and then click the OK button.

    12 Finally exit the properties and the Group Policy Editor.

    13. the next time you start your machine that Windows Mail should be disabled.

    As I said this should work if you have the Group Policy Editor.

  • Desktop Pavilion p6-2011 pc: want to remove windows 7 install xp pro. How can I do this?

    Just picked up the machine above for my wife and want to remove Windows 7 install XP pro.  The machine does not allow me to do.  All the options in addition to removing the disc?

    Thank you

    Hello:

    You can install XP on your PC. You will need to install the drivers from the website of the manufacturer of each material.

    Lighter is right in the fact that HP will not support your PC under XP, so if you have problems operating system, don't bother calling HP support.  I guess that the material would still be under warranty.

    That being said... I guess that when you install the XP disc that it loads up, and when he says 'Setup starts Windows', he goes kerflooey, right?

    Well, it's because you need to load the SATA ACHI drivers for your machine when you receive this message at the bottom of the XP installation (press F6 if you need to load a SATA/RAID controller).

    So what you need to do, is go to your security & system menu in the Control Panel, click on Device Manager in Windows 7. Click on the small arrow next to the line of IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Post back with the name of your listed drive controller.

    We will need to charge the correct SATA driver at the F6 prompt. You also need a USB floppy drive or a USB flash drive using the DCIS drivers copied on it, I will provide you with once you offer this info.

    You will also need to go into your BIOS and look in your storage options menu. See if there are parameters for the emulation of SATA mode. There should be 3 settings, ACHI, RAID and IDE.

    If there is an IDE framework, you can change your settings to that and load XP without going through all the stuff of F6, but you will then need to load this driver after installing XP for optimum performance of the road.

    Then I will provide you with the instructions to load the SATA ACHI driver if you can change your settings for the IDE BIOS.

    I'll give you also with the links (I hope) for many other drivers you will miss.

    I agree with also lighter it is imperative that you create these recovery disks before continuing with the installation of Windows XP.

    I'm pretty confident that you can get everything to work on XP.

  • How can I remove Windows Antivirus 2010 if I can't access the internet?

    I have the Windows Antivirus virus on my computer and I looked at how to remove it, but all these need to go on the internet and its blockage of the internet. Someone at - it solutions?

    Hello

    You can get in Mode safe mode with networking? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? You want to
    Use Safe Mode when this is possible in any case.

    Print the manual of instructions of Bleepingcomputer below.

    Download all the programs you need on another computer and transfer it to a removable media.

    After installation make sure to rename them to something.COM they will be blocked from running.

    The best two methods allow scanners to run and/or AV.exe out of the way or removing.

    1.
    CTRL SHIFT ESC - task manager OR right click on the taskbar - task manager

    Process tab - complete the process on AV. EXE and continue with the uninstall Guide.

    If necessary use start - computer or Windows Explorer to navigate to

    C:\Program Malwarebytes Anti - Malware\mbam.exe or where it is installed - if
    necessary right click on the shortcut of Malwarebytes - Properties - tab - target line to see where it
    is installed.

    Right-click on it and rename it to ZZMbam.COM (or something different than now), then
    Double-click it and run it like this. You can rename it back later. Do the same with others
    programs as needed. Use this method for other necessary - DO NOT ASSUMER one
    program removes all or that there is no other malware.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    2.
    Another method is to use them:

    Use Process Explorer to "Suspend" the process will not stop

    Then use AutoRuns to delete the malicious program startup items.

    Now use UnLocker to delete the files in the malware.

    You may need to do a file at a time.

  • Cannot start Windows 7. Logonui.exe error

    I was struck by the Netsky virus last night and after cleaning my system, I came across the following (approximate) error message you try to start Windows 7 normally:

    "Logonui.exe - application could not start properly.  #0000005 memory could not be read. "My only option is OK, which leaves me with a gray white screen and the pointer... forever!

    I am able to boot into safe mode (thank God) with networking, so at least I can get my files transferred out of the C: drive, but I would avoid to rebuild the drive if I can.

    Anyone know how I can a) repair or b) to replace the version of Windows 7 to logonui.exe?  I could not find the file on my Win7 installation DVD (there is a copy in C:\Windows, but probably this copy is now corrupted).

    I tried all the fixes I found online so far, nothing works. Thank you 1 million to someone who can help.  Contact me here or to the * address email is removed from the privacy *.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Data recovery, if/before you reinstall:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • How to remove windows Get 10?
    I don't want to get windows 10 thing on my pc.
    No matter how many times I uninstall this update, it comes back.
    can someone please ask microsoft just do updates do not force users to get things, what they don't want.
    Windows 10 is just as useless as windows 8, please someone ask microsoft to stop us asking to get windows 10.
    Thank you.
    I advised my clients to doing what I've been dreading for years - disable automatic update of Windows.
    The problem is compounded by a continual road by Microsoft to install Windows 10 on your computer with your permission.  They keep re - install KB3035583 (this is the activation code) on your computer, even if uninstall you it.  The result is a huge download and then constantly nags without a way obvious to say no.
    So I advised my clients to stop WU.  Once a month the 2nd Tuesday, they will have an email to advise me to turn on the WU, then to reject specific updates as KB3035583.  After update, they will turn the automatic updates again.
    If you see the Windows flag in the bottom right of your screen, the chances are pretty high that your computer already has the Win10 file.  Here are the instructions on how to get rid of it:
    It is likely Win10 has already downloaded on your PC.  If you are using windows 7 and have not installed win10 and do not, here is a procedure that I've used several times and it works.
    1. Remove Windows Update Auto - never tick
    2. Task Manager, processes, find and put an end to GWX.exe
    3. Control Panel, uninstall a program, see installed updates, WAIT a long time
    4. Now, look for KB3035583, uninstall it
    5. Restart the PC
    6. Disk Cleanup, step 2 for system - it takes some time
    7. You should find a file that anywhere from 4 to 8 gigabytes.  It's the downloaded Win10 file. Put a check mark on this point.
    8. OK, delete files
    9. Restart
    10. The start-up will take a while as he finished cleaning
  • Should he remove it under regedit directly?
    I find the srspanel_64 registry key and would like to know how to uninstall it security.
    Should he remove it under regedit directly?
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions
    Start-up (all users) files run - srspanel_64.exe is registered with the identifier of the series "3D SRS Premium Sound" and the run command ' /f "C:\Program Files\SRS Labs\SRS control Panel\SRSPanel_64.exe" = 'C:\Program Files\SRS Labs\SRS control Panel\SRS_Premium_Sound_PS3D.zip' / h ' in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry Windows. Run keys are the Startup registry keys that are used to launch an application automatically when any Windows user logs on to Windows.
    You can disable the startup using MSCONFIG program simple.
    Click Start, type MSCONFIG and press {ENTER}.
    Go to the Startup tab and uncheck the entry that contains the text "SRSPanel_64.exe".
    Click OK to close the MSCONFIG Utility.
    In searching the Web, I found this (additional information):
    SR Control Panel is a program developed by SRS Labs. The most used version is 1.11.0200, with more than 98% of all facilities that currently use this version. During installation, the program registers itself to run at startup through a Windows schedule the task in order to automatically to the commissioning (in many cases than that to avoid all UAC prompts).
  • Cannot remove Windows XP Dual Boot with Windows 7 (partition logic-bootable) (main System Partition)
    When I put XP and 7 dual boot I them created on a drive with 2 partitions.  I don't have Windows XP and need space for windows 7 so I followed the instructions to remove it.  I used the Windows 7 disc in repair mode via Diskpart to delete the XP partition and (after release) change the master boot record to Windows 7 using Bootrec/fixmbr and /fixboot.  I then tried to activate Windows 7 new in Diskpart but received the error message:
    The VIRTUAL DISK SERVICE ERROR - the specified partition is invalid for this operation.
    It's because I had configured Windows 7 in an extended as a logical disk partition.
    I had to restore from the image I had taken and copy backup my data files.  However this left me with the following configuration:
    Primary partition
    C: Windows XP - local disk, system, Page File Active, primary
    Extended partition
    G: Windows 7 - Local, Boot, Crash Dump, logical disk
    D: programs - Local, logical disk
    Files - Local, logical disk E:
    Photos - Local, logical disk F:
    I have EaseUS Partition Master which apparently allows me to convert drive G of elementary logic.  However he would not only because it is noted as boot drive.
    How to convert G to a logical disk in a primary partition so that I can activate it?
    Start Windows 7, and format the partition ON THAT XP is installed. (This assumes that XP is on the 1st partition)
    Since the Windows 7 bootloader (BCD store was on the XP partition) you will need for this restore on Windows 7
    partition.
    Restart your computer with the Windows 7 DVD in the CD/DVD drive. Wait for Windows Start (this may take a while if you)
    have a computer to multiboot), change the language. Time/keyboard if necessary, otherwise click "next". In her "install now".
    prompt (do not choose the install now option) instead choose the option "Repair your computer" located at the bottom left
    the back.
    Then select the option 'Use recovery tool' and click 'next '.
    Now, you will see a list of "Recovery Tools". Choose "Command Prompt".
    At the DOS prompt, type the following three commands:
    Bootrec.exe /fixmbr
    Bootrec.exe /fixboot (may return a not found message "Eliment")
    Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd
    You should now see the number of Windows Installations that have been identified
    For a tripple boot computer, after that XP has been removed you will see the number 2 (the 2 other Windows 7/Vista
    facilities)
    If you see a prompt "Facility add to the startup list?", enter Y (Yes) for each installation.
    Remove the Windows 7 DVD. Close the command prompt window, and then click "Restart" to reboot the PC.
    Reboot and XP should have disappeared.
    METHOD No. 3
    If the XP partition has been installed has been severely damaged or deleted.
    Restart your computer with the Windows 7 DVD in the CD/DVD drive. Wait for Windows Start (this may take a while if you)
    have a computer to multiboot), change the language. Time/keyboard if necessary, otherwise click "next". In her "install now".
    invites to choose the option 'Install now' and wait again invites him "what type of installion.
    Now select the option "Custom (Advanced)".
    You should now see a list of all existing partitions and unallocated space where resided once Windows XP.
    Now, with unallocated space underlined click on 'New' and 'Apply' and 'Format '.
    Click 'Yes' to. Are you sure you want to cancle installation Windows' command prompt.
    Then click on the option "repair you computer" at the bottom left.
    Then select the option 'Use recovery tool' and click 'next '.
    Now, you will see a list of "Recovery Tools". Choose "Command Prompt".
