Should I set up my iphone as new on itunes or restore information from my old iphone?

Hello

I got the iphone 4 that have been saved in my itunes on my PC.

I tunes has songs inside.

Now I have a new iphone - iphone 6 for a few months now, and I have pictures, contacts, messages, etc. in it.

I want to download music on my phone - so I plugged into my PC.

ITunes asked me if I want to set it up as a new iphone or restore all information since the last backup that was made (the backup was made with my old iphone)

If I chose the backup - I'm afraid it will delete everything on my iphone and will download only the information from my old iphone (I have new contacts. photos etc..).

and if I put in place like new - I'm afraid it will delete everything on my phone or remove my itunes (including all the songs I want)

What should I do?

Thank you!

If you "set up as new" this does not erase the content currently on the iPhone. It's more a set upward for iTunes can communicate with your iPhone. It is really "set up" a return for your iPhone and iTunes connect with your phone.

In this way, you can add music and everything you want on your iPhone. You will not lose anything in iTunes.

You can always open iPhoto/Photos and transfer your photos first if you are concerned, or enable iCloud create a backup.

Are you turning in the Apple device, a company or the insurer? Can you turn on the device? If so, you could try to send a command to erase with iCloud. If this is not the case, if her deal with Apple, they he will wipe away. If the only damage the screen, you don't want just the screen replaced?

  • Using Time Machine or the Migration Assistant to transfer information from and old Mac to a new one

I had to think about upgrading a Macbook Air to a Macbook Pro and have done research on how pretty much everything (files, account icloud, etc.) to move to a new computer so I know how to do it when the time comes. I didn't save my current computer at the time I got it and didn't know whether it was necessary to do it before the transfer. Also, I found two different ways to move information from one mac to another, one way being using the migration wizard, the other via the time machine. The problem is that I've never used time machine (I checked my settings and it is turned off). I was curious to know which option would be the 'best' way and if not never back up my computer would be a problem. (If its possible, could someone also please explain how to back up my computer?)

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward I hope to get a reply soon!

I use Time Machine often (and have used since its introduction).  I also upgraded my Mac hardware quite often (about every 18 months).  Whenever I move to a new machine, I use the Migration Wizard (and not Time Machine).  I've never had a problem.

Then I suggest that you need not Time machine specifically in order to change computers.  However, you really need to keep backups simply because the material is not, and without a backup, you are subject to lose everything you have on your computer.

  • Built a new computer, kept the hard drive from my old computer but had Vista OEM

I have set up a new computer, but kept my hard drive to save money, I did not know that that I was not allowed to do, and now I'm stuck without a computer! Rather than buying a new copy of windows is it possible to get my renewed series and re - install off a friends Vista CD? I'm in the United Kingdom if it makes a difference to contact departments/services on this subject.

If Vista is preinstalled on your computer, or you purchased an OEM disk/license, it is non-transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.

    See you soon.

  • I created a new profile and copied the files from my old computer inside firefox. How do the new profile, just delete the old one?

I am running windows 7, I had to recover my files on an external hard drive when my old computer crashed. I created a new profile as described in the Web site of firefox and copied all the files into it. I just need to know how to use the new profile when I open firefox, just delete the old profile? Or do I have to reinstall firefox.

If you no longer have need or intention to use this older profile, then you can use the Profile Manager to delete this profile and delete the files.

I get a new mac next month and will probably be to transfer all my docs, photos, settings etc using the method in this article. I was wondering if, when data are transferred to the new computer, if it is removed from the old computer? I had problems the past with back ups and updates goes wrong and I fear that I will lose all my data by mistake in the transfer.

Lol the original data remains on the old computer, but don't forget to save the new computer as soon as you can.

new computer how to do everything from my old computer to my new computer

You can transfer files and settings with Windows XP files and the transfer settings Wizard, but you can not transfer the programs installed using any method whatsoever - you will need to reinstall these programs.  If your new computer is not Windows XP but Windows 7 then use the program Windows Easy Transfer, included in Windows 7 rather than the files and Settings Transfer Wizard.

  • should I "set up as new iphone."

    Hello

I didn't save my 6s IPhone since I got it and I don't know whether to "set up as new iPhone" or "restore from this backup" (my old iPhone 5).

I'm afraid that if I "set up as new Iphone" I will lose all my photos my camera etc. For more than 30 weeks I had this 6 s IPhone and I have over 3000 photos.

Please let me know which option to choose. -I don't mind if photos from my old phone to the folder/location same as pictures of my new phone as long as I do not lose them!

    Thank you

    Holly

    Hello

When you load an iphone it should automatically be saved on iCloud

Go to the last backup of settings-iCloud check if it's not very old use that one

When you set iPhone it will ask you if you want to use backup say yes, if its a recent.

    See you soon

  • does "set up as new iphone" prevent later restore the data from the old iphone (iphone 4)

refurb Iphone 4: if I use the option "set up as new iphone", I can retrieve later data from the old iphone from itunes? (macbook 10.6.8 don't dl latest version of itunes @ this time)

You would be able to restore an old backup him later, but doing so will wipe everything that is currently on the phone. There is no way to combine.

  • Transfer music to new IOS / ITunes install via iPhone?

How can I transfer all my music, photos etc. of my phone and my iPad for the new ITunes without losing their? Free programs or advice? Thank you

    Not sure what you mean.

Do you not store everything on your computer and/or cloud service?

You should. Nothing should be stored on your iPhone only.

Synchronization of music is a way - computer to iPhone.   The exception is iTunes purchases: file > device > transfer purchases

You need to import your photos to your computer regularly, as you would any digital camera.
