  What is the status of the STRANGE in Device Manager?
  Are there any yellow exclamation marks?

  I recommend you remove/clear the STRANGE since the Device Manager.
  Then start the registry and delete the upper and lower registry key filters:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  After that, restart the device. Windows should recognize the STRANGE again.

  Regarding the driver chipset;

  It is not possible to update the firmware on your SD-L802B drive because the firmware released on the Toshiba page deigned for the TS-L802A drive.
  Do not mix these two discs! It is not the same thing!

  I was told that there is no way to undo the update of the firmware. HP did send me a few ink cartridges so I could print again, but I am still ticked about the way this has been ensured by HP. They have not told me that my old version cartridges would not more work after updating firmware. I think that it is simply dishonest on part of HP and I am sure that other customers have been captured by this update of the firmware.
