  If you want to use a hard drive external Mac and PC options are:

  1. format the drive in Mac as exFat

  2. format the drive to NTFS on a Windows PC and use a program like Paragon NTFS for Mac. https://www.Paragon-Software.com/home/NTFS-Mac/

  Paragon NTFS for Mac allows you to use a disc formatted in NTFS by a Windows PC.

  Lightroom 6 trying to copy pictures to a different directory than what is Lightroom 5. That's why you have the problem.

  You can change the directory where you are teaching LR 6 to place photos, or change the permissions on this directory to read & write.

  This is to manually remove the master files. But are you sure you want to do this? Especially if these files are raw files? If you do, you throw a lot of precious image data. Many other options are for PAL which of course, I do not use.
