Should which driver I connect to the Linksys E1000 router wirelessly

I'm all set upward on my wireless network and all my other devices (iphone, tv, ect.) wireless connection.  My HP Pavilion dv6700 connect however no wireless.  My router is a Linksys E1000 and their support team has informed me that it is a problem of HP with their driver.  My driver is current and up-to-date (Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi Adapter).  Does anyone know how to fix this?  Please note that I have tried all the simple fixes, same driver update, it's not as simple as resetting the router or ensuring that my wireless switch is on and emitting a blue light.  If anyone knows how to solve this problem, I will be forever indebted to you and may even bye breakfast you!

Thank you

Tim

Hi, Tim:

Are you sure you are using the latest driver?

This is the latest version of the driver and it is supposed to solve connection problems with Atheros wireless adapters and routers Linksys E series:

    Hello

I hope someone can help because I've been through the forums and I will have no chance to solve my problem.  I bought a new router (Linksys E2500) and my laptop (G60 - 228 CA) HP can detect the router but just failed to connect to the internet.

I tried to diagnose all the problems which have been proposed, but that did not help.  I restarted the router, nothing helps.  I tried to download and install a new driver to replace the old (Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi Adapter) but still had no luck.

Really not sure where go from here so looking for help solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello:

Verify that the driver you have installed is actually that of 2011.

If not, go to the device, right click on the atheros wireless card, Manager select uninstall and if there is a box to uninstall driver for check, check.

Reboot and try the driver I posted again.

If the date and the driver version is what is indicated on the driver file, then unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

  • I am unable to connect to the Linksys WRT54G Router with wired connection to Office XP.

My two laptops (XP and a Win7) will be connected to the router wireless and wired (ethernet). When it is plugged directly into the DSL modem, the Office connects and works very well. This problem started when I had to replace the DSL modem.

I inherited this problem for my elderly mother... and it all started because they gave me the router password wrong, who now works (router has been reset) on two laptops, but when connected, the Office doesn't even show a light of connection on the router except during startup. I no longer get a window of logon passwork for the router, and I am unable to connect/ping the router in the office. (192.168.1.1)

I would like to clarify a few things.

    1. two laptops work fine with cable connections and wireless through the WRT54G.

2 desktop PC, which has only a wired connection, does not connect successfully.

    3. the symptoms of the failure of the desktop connection to are that the link on the router at the start light flashes during initialization of the PC but then will Dim.

    4. when the desktop PC trying to connect to the internet, it fails.

5 when the desktop PC try to connect to the administration WRT54g page it fails.

    6. when the desktop computer try PIING the router at 192.168.1.1 IP address it fails.

    These points are correct?

Assuming this is correct, open a command prompt and type

    IPCONFIG/ALL

The output of the command should provide some information about the current state of the network connection.

It would be useful that you posted this here release.

The absence of a link light can be your main symptom and may be due to several reasons. He probably has an associate status "media disconnected" in IPCONFIG for the network connection.

This could be caused by a bad network cable or a network connection disabled in the properties of the network on the PC. Small jets knowing the ot IPCONFIG output is would help more.

Post this info if you can.

    Good luck

  • Get a connection between the printer and router wireless

I have a printer e-all-in-one HP Officejet 4630 I am trying to install wireless.

I got when I first installed the printer a few months ago, but have since had to change my password for network security and am now unable to get the printer to accept/meet the new password.

I downloaded and followed the instructions provided by the tool for troubleshooting HP, without success. I have a DLINK wireless router and use windows 7. Would appreciate assistance.

Easy things first.  Reset the printer to the factory settings and try to connect again using the Setup Wizard of the façade.  If no joy, temporarily remove the password for the security of the router and try to connect.  If so, go back and add your password.  If no joy, reset the router is by default and reconfigure return, and try again.  Blue wireless light should be lit when connected.

I have a desktop with windows 7 and a Linksys E1000 router and you want to connect a laptop with windows 8, it will work router?

Yes, it should work perfectly, if wired (Ethernet) or wireless.

Click on the network icon in the Notification area

Click on the available wireless network that you want to connect

In the list of available wireless networks, click a network, and then click on connect.

Some networks have need a network security key or password. To connect to one of those networks, ask the network administrator or service provider for key security or password.

  • Linksys E1000-N Wireless mode

I have a problem with my router. The Linksys E1000.

In my opinion, that it supports Wireless-N mode, so my wireless lan card which is the Atheros AR5B93 (also known as the Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n). When I connect to the router, it connects only mode normal wireles, so not b, g or n. But when I look at the customer router Tabel all devices connected to the router in Wireless-G mode. Even my laptop connects Wireless-G mode.

I want to have my laptop connected to Wireless-N mode. What should I do to make this work?

    (Sorry for my bad English!)

If you connect to 130Mbps, you are already in N mode (everything above 54, 75Mbps even limited most adapters 1/1 N). I thought that the problem in your whas OP the plain inability to be stuck with g 54 Mbit/s.

TBH, the difference in speed between (up to 150Mbps) 20 MHz or 40 MHz (up to 300Mbps) 2.4 GHz is almost zero, unlike 5 GHz. If you visit this link , you will see that is happening in this model during a test in the two modes at various distances, where 20 MHz may even work better further.

But if you really want to connect at 300Mbps, what is the problem if we let him just "wpa2-PSK', 'auto 20/40' and 'mixed mode' if it is already connected in N 300Mbps mode? When it is set to that, an adapter is only 54 Mbit/s if it is G only. Beware that your router might go down later to 20 Mhz (130Mbps) if other networks that overlap can be found on the channel extended because of the rule N.

BTW, if you use only "N" and "auto 20/40" stays in 130Mpbs, by setting a channel manually * could * force it to 300Mbps even if only for a certain time (see above). " After applying these changes, always disconnect and reconnect your adaptor. If you do not, your windows reported speed will remain the same (130 when 300 is possible).

Using a program like inSSIDer will tell you the maximum supported speed for SSID of your router

In addition, if the customer table of your router tells you that it is in wireless mode, well, it's because it is. Wireless mode refers only to a Wifi hotspot, no matter if A/B/G/N, the opposite of being locally through an ethernet cable.

  • 4600 pro connects to the Linksys WAG354 Wireless router!

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with internal wireless card. I'm trying to connect to my Linksys WAG354 wireless router. The laptop seems to connect but only get a connection status ' Limited or no connectivity "note computer says it has problem because the network has not assigned a network address of the computer.

I called Linksys, but the call center do not have a lot of help! They said that I should update the driver for the Toshiba wireless... I did that, but still the same problem.

I am running windows XP. I have two other laptops connected to the router WAG354 and they work fine.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I agree with Michael. I think that some false setting is responsible for this. If your network is visible for the laptop, the features of the card are OK and the problem parameters.

  • Satellite M60-164 and the connection to the Linksys router

    Hello

Ive had my Toshiba laptop a couple of weeks now and the stability of wireless is trying to grind on me...

I had an older Toshiba laptop that I have connected to my linksys router with a PC card wireless of linksys... absolutely no problem at all with him for over a year...

Since buying this one with built in the wireless, the only way I cn get the connectivity Toshiba dctor to detect the connection is too "no broadcast" disable my router, my neighbor commented that he could get on my network!

Sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 times to restart my computer and the router to recognize each other...

It is certainly an issue on the laptop... I can always connect to each time without fail on the other laptop (who is now my wife) and I have a floor Office from PC using a netgear PCI Wireless crd and which connects no problem every time...

I cn kind of deal with it, but its bothers me why I can't even detect the connection to the network during the broadcast is disabled (even when Ive found by scanning with seized me the name of the network)...

  • Network with Airport Extreme problems connected to the Linksys switch

I have a wired network in my house.  It has the following configuration: Modem base station Airport Extreme for Linksys switch and then all wired connections.  It is in a wiring closet in a room upstairs.  I have 2 other extremes from the airport, to spread out of the range, but they are currently disabled and disconnected from the network until I have found why I get auto ip address on several of my wired connections.  I have reset the modem, EI and switch.  More wired connections seem to be working very well, but there are 4 or 5 who say that the ethernet cable is connected, but it can not connect to the internet because of a self assigned ip address.  I thought maybe it was a problem with the port of the switch, but when I plugged a cable work in, everything worked again.  Thus, for example, on my iMac, in a study downstairs, I had plugged on the ethernet port in the wall.  He let me only to connect to wireless internet.  He says the ethernet connection had a self assigned ip.  I went upstairs and took the cable from the switch and directly connected to the Airport Extreme, and then connect to this iMac worked fine via ethernet.  So I'm really confused as to why it does not work when it is connected to the switch.  Why are only a few connections ethernet works and others not?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why are only a few connections ethernet works and others not?

Because either you have a bad port on the switch (unlikely, but possible) or a wired Ethernet connection bad, or maybe both ends of several of the Ethernet cables (99% of the time, the problem is in the wiring or connectors Ethernet... not the switch).

But, we must test the switch first and then work from there.  It might be much easier to call a guy from wire or the custom installation specialist to do all this for you, but if you want to give it a try... Here's how.  It is not difficult at this stage, just take some time.

Unplug the switch except the Ethernet cable that connects the AirPort Extreme to each cable Ethernet switch.  Label each Ethernet cable with a number or a letter you can install the wires in their original position on the switch.

Use of a laptop computer with an Ethernet port and a short, spare Ethernet cable... virtually no matter what length will make... and turn off the WiFi on the laptop so it should use Ethernet to connect to Internet.

Test an Ethernet port on the switch with the laptop and the Ethernet cable to make sure that you have get a good Internet connection. If you do so, test the next port of the switch. Continue until all ports of the switch has been tested.  With luck, they will all work.

If this is the case... which is likely... then you know that the Ethernet switch is working properly.

Now things get a little more complicated. Ideally, you have documentation that tells you what Ethernet cable goes to what area of the House. If you don't, just connect the Ethernet cable to the switch... then go to the other end of the Ethernet cable to the wall outlet and connect the computer laptop and short Ethernet cable to the wall socket.

If you have no documentation to indicate where each cable goes, so go ahead and connect all the Ethernet cables to the switch.

Still, make sure that the wireless is disabled on the laptop so that it can only connect to the Internet via an Ethernet connection. Check if you can get a good connection Internet in this way. If you can, then you know that the individual Ethernet cable and the Ethernet port on the wall are working properly...

Test other areas one at a time the same way.  You are very likely going to find Ethernet cables or a wall of ports that do not work properly. The hardest part here is that you... or a wire guy... will have to check the Ethernet cable at both ends to ensure that the Ethernet Sockets have been installed correctly.  It is not easy. The wires are tiny and its easy to get involved.  Installation of new Ethernet cards, it's really a job for an experienced guy who will provide hopefully a cable Tester well when it comes.

Some Ethernet will certainly be replaced.  In rare cases, the cable itself has a break somewhere... and it's not easy to fix something like this, without pulling new cable... that would not be possible according to the House provision.

When you know that all ports on the switch are working and all ports Ethernet wall around the House work... so... we can get the network set in place and working properly.

  • Should which driver I use for Windows XP on Portege R500 by WLan

Because I couldn't get the wireless Lan driver, Intel, 11.1.0.100 references driver Toshiba download site (I'm redirected to a link that does not work), I went on the site: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/. Information about the two sites, all two of Toshiba, are contradictory:

A site lists 11.1.0.100 references as driver for Windows XP, the other site of the 11.1.0.100 references as the driver for Vista 64 and the 11.1.1.16 as driver for Windows XP. Which should I use for Windows XP on Portege R500?

Sorry my friend but after reading your question, I can just laugh. Use simply listed http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads driver, install it and enjoy your life.
