Show/burn existing subtitles?

I have downloaded from a security nest/Dropcam video files (mp4) camera. When viewing these files in QuickTime Player, I can show the English subtitles that update in the second to give a continuous time stamp. I want to understand the stamp of time running in my finished video.

When I import one of these files in FCPX, I can't seem to find a way to still show these subtitles, much less turn them on / off power during a clip and then burn in the final video.

Am I missing something?

What is the format of these subtitles? I suppose they are in a separated or similar .srt file? Please provide details.

You may need an external utility like X-title importer to convert them into a form suitable for FCP X.

I recorded a program in Windows media center.  When I read the program, it displays the closed captioning information.  If I burn a DVD program closed captioning information do not display during playback.  How can I burn the DVD to include captioning?

    Hello

    1. How do you try to burn the DVD? You have saved the DVD on the desktop (hard drive) or you burnt before you save it to a DVD?
    2. after are burning the DVDs in which application you trying to play?

I suspect that the captions are already burned in DVD, at this point in time we can cross check if the option is set to display captions.
To enable or disable subtitles for DVD
    a. on the Windows Media Center start screen, navigate to tasks, click settings, click DVD and then click subtitle.
    b. click the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to select power off or when cut, and then click Save.

  • Subtitles truncated

OK, this is a weird problem.  I use Encore CS5 to create slideshows.  I have 4 slideshows on a 4.7 GB disc, each slideshow is a approximately 1 GB in size (according to chronology of yet).

Each slide is subtitled with a single line of text using the description as legend.  None of the subtitles exceed safe limits of title.  However, when I burned the DVD and put it in my player, some of the subtitles appear fine, others are truncated to only a few characters.  For example, a slide displays the subtitle 'Along the Columbia River' very well, but the following which is supposed to say 'margin - Canada' Cup in the middle of the first a in the Canada.

About half the slides have this problem.  At this point, I'm at a total loss for what to do, so any advice at all are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

To avoid this problem, check the proportions of your slide show - if it is a DVD project that it is equal to 4:3 default. To avoid the subtitles will be truncated - do not change the proportions of the slide show after that subtitles are added/changed to the slides. In other words, if a slide show is created and added subtitles with an aspect ratio 4:3; build it on DVD with the same proportions.
If the aspect ratio of 16:9 is necessary and then set it as 16:9 before to create/edit captions in the slide show, then export to DVD with the same proportions.

I hope that this will solve the problem.

  • L50D-B satellite never burn a CD or a DVD properly

    Hello

    I own a laptop Toshiba Satellite L50D-B.

The laptop is equipped with SU - one 208FB CDDVD TSST corp who works in any type of disc playback. The problem is he never burn a cd or DVD correctly.

I have used all types of optical media nero 2015 software and 64-bit windows by default burning process 8.1.

However whenever I receive an error message that my CD/DVD drive needs firmware upgrade.

The result is that the optical disc shows burn marks, but it cannot be read by any optical device.
Anyone have any idea on the issue?

    Thank you in advance...

    MODEL NAME: TSST corpCDDVD SU-208FB
    VERSION: TF01
    CODE OEM: TF

Which application provides this message about the update of the firmware necessary?
I looked on the page of the Toshiba UE driver and unfortunately, there is no updated firmware for this CD/DVD player.

Theoretically, it could be a hardware problem with the internal CD/DVD drive instead of problem firmware also due to the fact that you are the first, which has posted this question here in the forum; I guess that there may be a hardware problem. But just my personal opinion

However, the laptop was also preinstalled with the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.
    This burning software works correctly?

    I need to understand...

You have a bunch of photos that you want to make a video of.
You want to add music in the background.

    I'm wrong, so far?
In the affirmative. Please check your images file extensions and the music file.
File extension is last 3 letters of the file.
Your image files must be either png, jpg, bmp.
Your music file must be wma or wav.

If those that occur, then please follow this...
Open Windows DVD Maker > add file, import your photos > next > at the top, click on slide show > click Add music, navigate to the music file and select. Click Add > check "change slide show length to match music length > click Change slide show > Burn"

  • Legends truncated when it is burned in the video

    Hello.

I'm burning subtitles to a video exported.

Things worked fine for the first few steps (I imported a SRT file, which is added to a sequence, adjust the lengths of legend to fit on the video), and legends all looked nice when I preview the sequence in the program monitor window.

Then I exported, select the option to burn the subtitles to the exported video.

Legends appeared in the video, but the text has been truncated to the right, and an important part of my captions are missing.

Everyone knows that kind of problem? Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Update:

Seems to me that it is resolved. I checked the option "Wide screen is" as shown below, and my captions are not truncated. (Right click on the imported file of legend, choose edit subtitles.)

    Sounds good?

  • Pe11: DVD burning: bitrate?

Here, I noticed that you can't choose a flow for burning to dvd format (this is also my experience).

But is the bitrate PE11 uses?

I assume that's what variable so if the sequence is long bitrate will be lower?

But wat is the bitrate if you have Te footage of only 20 minutes?

    fredowww66

Premiere Elements has always had a setting flow max 8.00 Mbit/s in the dialog box burn quality area. This isn't my answer or an answer from someone else. It is the answer of the program.

This max 8.00 Mbps is for DVD 4.7 GB / 120 minutes, as well as if you use DVD 8.5 GB / 240 minutes. I can get into more details in this regard between and with "good content to the space available.

Here is the reading of properties watch MediaInfo of a typical DVD-VIDEO to DVD disc that I just created in another goal. I did not exceed the capacity of the disk, so the max flow showed burn 8,00 Mbit/s in the field of the quality of the dialog box before they hit the burn button. Note the display of bitrate for the video stream of the DVD-VIDEO. The results are typical and are less than 8.00 Mbps. try it. MediaInfo to make one of these readings can be obtained from

    http://MediaArea.NET/en/MediaInfo

The flow values indicated by MediaInfo are in Kbps (kilobits per second) and not Mbps (megabits per second). So to put it in perspective:

    7813 Kbps = 7.63 MB/s

    6955 kbit/s = 6.79 Mbps

Still, there is no possible throughput Mbit/s max 9 possible for DVD-VIDEO produced by Premiere Elements (this is stated in the dialog box burn quality area to burn to disk, or in the final product in which you can see using a variable bitrate).

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_bitrate

Please consider and prove to yourself with the easy verification that I have suggested.

    Thank you.

  • How to export movies subtitled first cs6?

I use the first CS6 (Windows 7) to create a movie with closed captioning. I use the software MovieCaptioner (http://www.synchrimedia.com/) to create the file of mcc legends dada. First, I attach the mcc file to a sequence of Assembly and allow the display of closed captioning. I can see the movie with captions in the program window. In closed captioning settings, I have cc and service that both area value 1. I have trouble finding the right set of parameters that will first export a movie that includes and displays the captions.

    The Mr. Lunce. [email protected]

    Hi,

Unfortunately Premiere Pro CS6 doesn't have the possibility to integrate captions into a media file (such as subtitling), nor have the ability to make the legends like burned in subtitles either.  Two of these things that we received as requests of other users and we will look at those among all our other requests.

For our planning, can you go a little more in depth about your workflow with MovieCaptioner, what you like/dislike on this issue, and where the files would go if you were able to do what you're asking for in the first

  • Captioning in Premiere Pro like medieval torture... why, at this time?

So, here am I, a videographer from the opera (and the editor in Chief). My task: take the PowerPoint file that the company used as surtitles (above the stage) and make subtitles with it. Wow! First - I've used for the past eight years-allowed just creation of subtitles! Looks for a match in the sky! Well well... None. The editor is a) intuitive, b) no interactive and c) all just stupid in its design. I put my first legend - this is Act 3 LA BOHÈME the sweep of entry "Hey there, guards! Open the door! "After going through hoops (create track legend, add to the timeline, add text in a dialog box) I see little boxes that I created... I can move them? No. I have to add THE TIME CODE to the dialog box and how long it should be displayed by intuition, NOT BY EYE. If I'm a good boy, she will show where I have to say. I can drag handles (there are the handles but my torturer at the Adobe engineering service decided I can't use them) to change the width? No, in 2016, which is too ask. It works like something designed for Windows 2.2. The team working on this thing heard of WYSIWYG? The rest of this program is designed to be visually adjusted. THIS is not the case. I'm sick. Do I really out of this DVD and design caption/subtitle tracks in Encore CS6 which has a Publisher better than this piece of disgust?

Now, imagine this scenario: I just make beautiful videos of 4K (more a Livestream of new year) eight performances. I'd use the same piece of legend and to refine the legends visually to adapt to fluctuations of tempo and different breaks that four different casts of the opera (4 sopranos play Mimi, 3 playing Musetta, 4 tenors singing Rodolfo, 3 baritones Marcello singing in different performances) to different shows (they are not robots and the timings are different in various shows). I am paralyzed by this horrible thing.

The subtitles in Encore CS6 Editor is much better than that. WHO DESIGNED THIS THING AND WHY THEY STILL HAVE JOBS? It's disgusting. Please fix.

    ElJayBronx wrote:

So, here am I, a videographer from the opera (and the editor in Chief).

Nice to meet you ElJayBronx.  I am a programmer for hearing and creation. Before Adobe, I had recorded many operas while in school and my internship working on broadcasts of the Vienna Staatsoper.  So, I have an appreciation for what you do.  Are what company you satisfied to opera?

My task: take the PowerPoint file that the company used as surtitles (above the stage) and make subtitles with it. Wow! First - I've used for the past eight years-allowed just creation of subtitles! Looks for a match in the sky!

First took the opportunity to burned in subtitles for years via the titration module.  In a recent update of creative cloud, we have added the option burn-in captions to export.  I guess the latter is what you are referring.

The editor is a) intuitive, b) no interactive and c) all just stupid in its design.

If you speak on the Panel of legends that is used to modify or retarget the subtitles encoded, I want to give some information.  A few years ago I and others on the team were charged with creating a workflow for customers of broadcast on this day that someone could edit video in first Pro, without having closed captions (usually embedded in the video signal) fell on the ground.  There are different ways some NLE do that, but in our customer research, we found that many broadcasters also wanted to change pre-existing of captioning.  Usually, this should be a Retiming or maybe fixing a spelling error.  We never had the intention that there be a solution for people to manually enter many captions (or subtitles) from scratch.  However, we wanted to give some of the features that could make some minor changes.  Every year at the NAB Show, I was really surprised by the number of people who go into the voting booth and say, they created subtitles via this Panel from scratch.  My eyes open usually wide as does my jaw. I tell them something along the lines "wow, it must be painful', to which they respond with the assertion but also to point out that he avoids them having to buy dedicated (and expensive) captioning software.

NO.

Again, the intent of the closed captioning stream was for content that was already captioned.  I agree with you that it makes sense to have subtitles on the real movable clip markers, as clip markers are (hence the similar user interface).  However, I will point out that you can actually do this by editing the normal timeline.  You can actually razor the clip with the legends and make your move and cutting in this way. Once I show this to video editors, they usually pick up on it immediately and workaround is not so painful.  As a reminder, by slide and hack subtitle markers on a clip: a painful tease that's going nowhere slide and hack the captioning of the clips themselves, however, is as fluid as it is elsewhere in the timeline.

The team working on this thing heard of WYSIWYG?

    Yes.

The rest of this program is designed to be visually adjusted. THIS is not the case.

We weren't able to do a WSIWYG implementation due to the complexity of the way in which the coded subtitles are encoded. It relies on technology from the beginning of the 1980s (late of the 1970s for Teletext for PAL) and has many limitations that makes things connecting to a harder visual interface.  Can it be done? Yes. Wouldn't be a lot of work? Without a doubt.

Do I really out of this DVD and design caption/subtitle tracks in Encore CS6 which has a Publisher better than this piece of disgust?

If your result is a DVD or Blu - Ray, which might be a better choice than the current workflow of captioning in first.  The callback functions are designed so that it looks like you are trying to reach.

Please try to chop the subtitle clips themselves as described above. You can resynchronize than elsewhere everything as if you were to sync up to an audio clip in the timeline panel.

WHO DESIGNED THIS THING AND WHY THEY STILL HAVE JOBS?

I did as well as some other team.  I always go to the office every day because the work is not done, and I am pleased to have an impact on the work done for our customers.

    It's disgusting. Please fix.

Noted. I can't talk publicly about the plans for future work, but be aware that many of us on the team to read your message here as well as your email that went through the tech support escalation process.

    Charles

P.S. I would like to see the work you do with the first. I'm not interested in criticizing it, but I would like to see it because the last measures of the 4th act in La Bohème still gives me chills.

Without hesitation, they said they were aware of the incompatibility, and that they were working on a solution, that at the time of issue, it would come in the form of a future update of AVG. The timeline for the fix has not yet been determined. Their only suggestion for now was to return to a previous question from Firefox.
