Shutter count

How to determine the number of shutter of my canon 50 d?

The official way is to send your camera in to Canon service, and they will tell you.  There is no menu, etc that you can display on your own for this information directly on the camera, or any of the supplied Canon utilties.

However, there are some third parties who have written utilities.

Large Studio has a utility called "Shutter Count" (be careful because "shutter count" is a common name and there are many things that do not actually work.)  You can get on their Web site (the 'App Store' Mac or, if you own a Mac).  It's pretty cheap (under $ 5).   These utilities do not necessarily work to each camera model, but the 50 d is on their list that they have tested and certified as work.

Can what reliable software I use to fine the shutter on a 2 5 count?

Nothing in the camera or a utility provided by Canon that reveals this.  But there are a handful of utilities that claim to be able to get this info from the camera.  I think I found more functional for Windows - but I have a Mac.

So I found a utility called "Shutter Count" (oddly).  Not free... but it's cheap.  I see that it is currently $2,99 (I think it may have been $1.99 when I bought it).  I does not work with the 5 d II.

  • My Sony A55 died at 50K shutter count.

My Sony A55 produces dark images once, but subsequent shots are fine, but died later during the shooting. Now no power. Any advice? Shutter count is only about 5 +, checked with exif tools. I browse the web and looks like it's shutter problem. Not sure if it's under warranty because it is well below its expected life span. Thanks in advance.

I bought a Sony A55 in August 2011. He has completely stopped working in July 2012. I had used for a short period, and I pushed the button to take a picture and heard only a "click" instead of two. It is under warranty, Sony replaces the load components MB module. Last week, exactly the same thing happened. I took several photos, the battery was above 90%, and I heard the same noise - one click instead of two. Now Sony wants to charge me $250 for repair this problem. I found many other reports of the same problem in client different forums, and I believe that this problem is a defect of manufacturing/design flaw and should be treated as such - is not only the case of a sticky button or a piece of plastic - the camera is completely dead in the water. At this rate, it seems that I have to pay $250 annually to keep this machine running.

  • Shutter on DCS-HX200V count

Could someone please instruct me on how to find the shutter of a camera DCS-HX200V count?

    Thank you

Extremely unlikely that this information is available. In addition, the normal reasons for wanting to know the shutter count (estimated mechanical wear, etc.) do not apply to the HX200 because it doesn't have a mechanical shutter, only an electronic, that the sensor is simply reset to zero at the beginning and the end of a capture.

  • While with PXI-5122 digitizer loop counter

    Hello world

I am a beginner of products NOR. Currently I use the PXI-5122, 2014 Labview for the ultrasonic signals. I have a problem when you count the number of signals using an external trigger (by a function generator) source. When I trigger the digitizer under 50 Hz, the meter is working properly (a single trigger = a signal). With a frequency greater than 50 Hz of trigger, the meter is malfunctioning. For example, with the shutter to 50 Hz and 500 number of signals, the counter takes 10s to get data. But, with the trigger of 100 Hz and 500 number of signals, the acquisition time was always around 10 s.
You can see the code in the file attachment.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or recommendations for my situation, I would appriciate that.

    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards
    You

    WorldALoneMe,

Looking at your code, you're software re - trigger your device.  With your Setup, you configure the digitizer to hold a single record acquisition in your "A - Scan.vi".  This VI opens the resource OR-SCOPE, configure, captures, returns the data, then closes the resource OR-SCOPE.  It then does this for each unique A-Scan that you do and would be the reason that b Scan.vi takes so long.  It appears then that fewer than 50 Hz, this reset any software and reconfiguration and the acquisition can occur without missing a trigger, but more than that, your triggers occur faster it takes to do these things.

What you need to do set up the digitizer to a multi-record acquisition.  This is done using the 'niSCope configure horizontal timing.vi' and wiring in a number higher than '1' in the entry "number of records".  "You can find an example of how to perform a multi-record acquisition if you open the Finder of example OR > material input and output > Modular Instruments > NOR-SCOPE > Getting Started > niScope EX Multi Record.vi.

In this example, the digitizer is only once configured, and it returns all the documents requested at the same time.  For your application, each record would be a simple Scan of A, and then if you configure 500 files, your B-Scan would be 500 wide.  This time allows the material to rearm between triggers that is much faster to do it in software.

For a verification of more complex example out (in the finder of the example) "niScope EX Multi record go get more available Memory.vi"

    Kind regards

    Nathan P.

  • To control the shutter SC10

Hi all, I am an amateur and very new for driver, Labview, and programming with pilots. But now, I must create an amplification in labview to control the Thorlabs SC10 to the shutter. I try to read documents about Labview but not all count.
Please tell me what can do starting from the connection to the writing of this aplication!
I think I'm in the despair of my quality
Thank you very much for your help!

    This link to shutter SC10:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ctjdc32nqpzhkbw

    Hello

According to the manual, SC10 shutter can be controlled with a RS-232 connection.

So the first step is to build (or buy) the cable if you don't already have in order to connect the shutter to the PC.

Then, in LV, you will need to learn how to send messages to RS - 232. You can do it with the functions of the VISA. Search for "RS232" in the finder example LV.

To learn to communicate in RS - 232, you can also connect 2 PC together, send message with LV and receive with the Windows Hyperterminal.

Then he must know exactly the syntax of messages RS-232 you must send to the shutter (each instrument has its own set of 'orders').

Finally, you will code the application LV using while/for loops, the sequence structures, structures case...

    Good luck!

  • 70 d stuck shutter button

I took my camera to the beach for a photoshoot with a friend, but when I got home, I was unable to access any of the menus, see photos, or access live view shooting. I realized that my underlying issue is that the shutter button is physically held down the position halfway and the camera is constantly counting for the light. I am reluctant to open the camera, as I am not an expert in this area. If anyone knows what could be the cause or have an idea on how to fix that would be great. Thank you.

Since the sand very probably try to insert the corner of a card in the gap between the button and the body and move the button.

  • Counting with powers different popup flash (T3i)

When I use the flash pop-up Av, it fires a pre-flash of measure used to calculate the shutter speed. I can then use flash exposure compensation to change the brightness of the flash. I guess counting is always performed with 0 EV even when flash exposure compensation is set to a nonzero value, since it calculates the shutter speed is the same, no matter what I have flash value exposure compensation. Is there a way so he can tell me shutter speed suitable for a selected flash power?

In the case of M, I don't understand why "flash exposure compensation" is always an option. The idea is to compensate a misinterpretation of the settings he chooses for what you want to do with the shot. But in M, there is nothing that she chooses. Shouldn't this just be called "flash power" at this stage. (In fact, it's the same thing for 'exposure as compenstation' too - why would you ever use it in M?). Again, is it possible to get the meter to tell me what the exhibition with my flash power selected will look like?

    Thank you

    David

It is a common area of confusion.  The camera behaves actually ideal, but if you haven't been shooting flash years you can't guess why he does.

When you meter with flash, the device ignores especially flash.  The meter performs the measurement of available light only.

When using E - TTL (really E - TTL II), the computer in the camera calulates the amount of energy needed to properly illuminate the subject based on your parameters of exposure... but without taking into account the shutter speed (so he only cares about the ISO and the opening...) Eh_bien, please make sure that the shutter speed is between "synchro-flash" unless the flash has sync high speed enabled.)

This is because the available light is more or less 'continuous', the flash is a temporary source of light.  The camera needs to use a shutter speed, or less speed 'synchro-flash' of the camera (which varies depending on the camera and is usually of the order of 1/160th to 1/250th sec).  The max speed 'synchro-flash' is based on the amount of time necessary for focal plane shutter mechanical to slide fully open, leave the flash fires, and then slide off completely.  The need to operate in this way is based on the design of focal plane shutter.  The shutter using two doors or "curtains."  Slides opening... the other follows later and closed blades.  If there was only a "curtain" then pixel near one edge of the probe (where it begins to open) would technically get more light then the opposite edge of the sensor... because the "curtain" should be reversed.  Using two "curtains" and having them both in the same direction, all pixels travel technically are exposed during the same period.

The amount of time that the flash light is usually extremely brief.  It varies depending on the flash model and also the level of power - but it could be as short as 1/4000e sec... but regardless of how brief it lasts, it can pull until the shutter is fully open or part of the probe will he is blocked from light.

Ultimately, this means that if you use an extra filling long exposure (for example assume that you set the exposure for a 1 second), the flash fires... (say it lasts 1/1000th sec) - but leaving the shutter open longer will not increase the amount of light received by the flash, because the flash is now gone dark.

This extra time long exposure will improve the ability of the camera to collect more ambient light, even if it will not collect more light on the flash.  When using the flash, you start thinking about each shot as two different exposures... exposure to 'available' light and exposure for the 'flash '.  Changing aperture or ISO settings affect both all too... but change the shutter speed only affects the part of the 'light' of the exhibition because the flash is a temporary light source.

Suppose you are in a room with low light... you take a picture with flash.  If the camera exposes ONLY for flash, so your subject is turned on, but the rest of the room seems to be almost black and the shooting doesn't look very good.   But if you leave the door open more then the camera can collect more of the available light and lighting will be better - you have some balance and depth to the picture because you will be able to see the bottom.  This technique to leave the shutter open longer is called "dragging the shutter" and this is the best flash photography.

It is one of the main reasons why you want your camera to the counter for the available light even when using flash.

The other reason is for photos during the day.  I use flash to shoot outside during the day (it's actually one of the best times to use a pop up flash).  This is referred to as "fill flash".  The idea is that the Sun is lighting your subject, but the flash fills in some of the deep shadows, so they don't look so tough.  You don't want the flash to try to compete with the Sun.  If you set the flash exposure compesnation-1 and take the picture.    You're doing similar things if the subject is in the shade, but the background is Sun - to balance between the subject and background lighting.

  • How to change the iPhone camera shutter sound 7

How to change the iPhone camera shutter sound 7?

    Hello

To adjust the volume of the sound of the camera shutter:

    • Use the settings ringer and alerts:
      • On iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 more, go to: settings > sounds and haptic.
      • (Other models, go to settings > sounds).
    • Or turn mute off / on using the switch on the side of your iPhone's ring/silent.
      • (The mute function is disabled in some countries).
  • The battery: Cycle Count

I recently bought a new macbook pro 13 inch (my first macbook never) and decided to read a little about the life of the battery.

To my surprise, I realize that my cycle was 7!

(Note: I only bought the macbook for about 4 days and charged for 3 - 4 times)

And according to the sites, cycle counts only account all costs 100% (fresh short accumulation).

In addition, my battery life estimated at 05:10 hours at 92%, but jumped to 08:40 hours to 84%.

    Should I be worried?

I read that you can actually leave your macbook to charge overnight, but do you do with the power supply on or off?

What is the best way to charge your macbook?

If you are not satisfied with this experience, please return it and get another.

You can return a Mac within 14 days of the purchase.
