Sick T30 - questions of RecordNow

Reinstalling this software on a formatted drive itself was really a nightmare.

It seems that Lenovo would provide a service that would work to install all the missing software on a cleanly formatted disk, but all you have the driver update page is a program update to the old RecordNow incidentally, must already be installed to work.

I had to search for days to find a copy of the RecordNow program for my CD-RW/DVD drive on my T30 2366FBU system.

After finding on the Lenovo site, it (rn732108f.exe)

http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-57007

Blithely, I downloaded and it chose auto install for me.

The process went well thanks to complete until the installation when a pop up stating

"This program can only be used on hardware IBM or Lenovo?

Then stopped dead without having to install.

The directory and the installed files are protected by Word and I am at square one.

Can someone help with this problem?

AAARRRGGG!

I just got the phone with Support technique Lenovo...

The skinny on this is that you must have version IBM brand of this program on labor and the Lenovo web site, for any reason, a useless version, mark Sonic.

Hello. Sorry for posting this again, but I couldn't find my old thread.  I have a t30 with a dead mobo and a t30 with a good mobo.

the bad news: we had a trackpad (dead mobo), the other not (good mobo). can I swap the hoses and have a trackpad?

    EDIT:

    http://img258.imageshack.us/my.php?image=t30mbjuly211yg3.jpg

I found this image of my next motherboard. I circled what I seek in red. This is the connector that the trackpad used on my death. can I just plug this one instead? That's my understanding came from this t30 not all with the option "ultranav", but that means of not able to the motherboard?

SOLVED! I had today and fixed my t30! My advice didn't come with a trackpad, but I swapped the case and bingo! I got a restored T30! Switch to the X 86 operating system on this one project!

  • Questions about updates on IMac

    I've not updated Imac

with Yosemite, I have before El Capitan?

No, you can go directly to El Capitan assuming that your Mac meets the specifications

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/SP728?locale=en_US

In General, you should always pass to the last possible system like you meet the specs for, as long as you do not have "must have" applications that do not meet specifications. The idea that the updates/updates cause problems is probably derived from discussions that see you here. ASC is like an emergency room for people to have problems, especially the sick, those who come here. Not the hundreds of thousands of people pass without difficulty, never here and go merrily on their way. In addition to the improved features, updates/improvements important security fixes.

Things you should do before moving...

    1. backup copy. Anything can happen at any time, so you should always keep a good backup. Make a bootable clone SuperDuper! or clone double or use TimeMachine.

    2. If you have questions on your current system don't their compound by installing above them. Solve them first, and then upgrade.

3 control of HARD drive for free space. At least 8.8 GB of available storage. Preferably more.

    4. check your applications for compatibility here... http://roaringapps.com/apps.

    5. unplug all devices, including USB hubs.

    6. After downloading the installer, it will be in the folder/Applications. Duplicate and drag the copy to other locations it download so if you want to save the installer.

7 be patient, the download takes a long time, and the installation may appear as sometimes it is dead. Ignore it.

  • Satellite P100 - 160 PSPAAE: Question on the driver installation instructions

    Hello.

I recently bought a P100-160 model PSPAAE with Vista pre-installed. Like many others, I had no choice with the OS and my experience so far has left me wanting to go back to XP.

I found the page of appropriate support for the drivers (I guess I have to use the drivers for the PSPAA) and read the instruction sheet that comes with them. There are some questions I want answered before I start on this particular cliff.

The guidelines mention the SD card Format utility, but I see no mention of one in the list of drivers. It is included in one of the other drivers or is it not found elsewhere?

Why the Sun Java Runtime Environment is necessary?

I guess if my machine has no Bluetooth or Infra-red that I didn't need to load the drivers.

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help.

    Kind regards

    John

Hi John, I recently went through the same process and after a few attempts, settled on the following as a reasonable XP installation (I don't need all that other stuff):

    Satellite Pro P100 (PSPAEA)

Chipset: Mobile Intel (r) 945 PM Express Chipset
    Memory controller: 82945 PM
    I/o Controller: Intel (r) 82801GBM i/o controller hub (ICH7M)

    What I installed...

    03 - display Driver
    04 chipset Driver
    05 - network - upgrade Ethernet driver
    06 - network wireless driver
    09 - sound Driver
10 - driver CardBus controller with UltraMedia
    12 - modem Driver
13 - modem region Select utility

    28. DVD-RAM driver software
    33 user manual
TOSHIBA fingerprint digital-software (from Vista drivers)
    TOSHIBA-disk-Creater (from Vista drivers)

    What I do not installed...

01 - Microsoft Updates (I used Windows Update to do this)
    02. Sun Java Runtime Environment
    07. customer Intel utility
    08 Atheros Client Utility
    11 - touch pad Driver
    16 - C - infrared driver
    18 YPP/power button Utility
    19 utilities
    20 - buttons
    23 - assist
    24 - ConfigFree

The numbers relate to roughly the original installation instructions. I do not pretend that it's the perfect installation, only one who appears to be stable and suitable for my purposes...

With respect to the SD memory card Format driver, I found it somewhere, but I don't remember where (sorry). It has the following file name, even if once extracted (ToshibaSDMemoryCardFormat_v2100A.exe).

  • I have a few questions about the internet and partition recovery

I deleted completely OS X Yosemite and only left Windows. Now that I'm pretty sick of Windows and want to use my Macbook Air for real, I am using recovery of the internet (order and R) to reinstall OS X.

I backed up all my data and that you haven't stored anything in my Macbook. My questions are: (I know they are long, but they are quick to respond)

    1. I want to erase everthing on my Mac. I have now 3 partitions. After starting and pressing command + R, I would use disk utility to erase everything, like this .

After you click Delete, would be merged my 3 partitions in 1 and I could repartition my Mac?

    2. I want to create a partition for OS X Yosemite (and possibly upgrade to El Capitan). What is the minimum recommended size for partition OS X Yosemite? (Because my SSD is only 128 GB)

    3. Let's say I create 3 partitions, let's name A for OS X, B for my data and C for reinstalling Windows. If I boot into Windows, I'd be able to use (read and modify) data on B, or just OS X could do that?

4 the amount of data I should download during the recuperation of the Internet? I guess that much since I'm downloading the OS X package, but my internet is quite slow, so I want to know how of SGB I have to download.

5 If I asks me to enter the Apple ID to download OS X, would any book Apple ID?

Thanks for reading. I would be extremely grateful if you answer my questions. See you soon

I realize it's a very old laptop but it still works to this day and I use it every day.

I've been a bit online and I found that there is a design with the motherboard fault. More precisely the location of the hard drive and RAM above the other causes a lot of heat build-up to this place. IBM (now Lenovo) offered a repair or replacement of the laptop for a few years I know. My question is Lenovo continues to do this or not? I got this laptop a month ago and a half, so I have not long. Unfortunately I have no money to even pay for the repair and even less to ship for repair. Is there something I can look at?

    Welcome to the forum!

It's been years since the replacement program of the Board of Directors on T30 units had ended.

Your best bet is to install a single 1 GB DIMM in the 'healthy' location and use the machine like this if one of the RAM slots failed.

    Good luck.

  • Two questions. We wish to remove the Vista and download XP Pro and would not let me explore the "Document and Settings" in the C"" drive.

    Mr President

Buy a laptop the year last Dell with VISTA. It won't let me partition (including shrinkage etc.). No matter where you go that it denied access, including loading the program. Search function I'm trying to understand for a year yet, I can't find.

I want to explore the "Document and Settings", but access is denied.

Finally, I gave up on VISTA now that I bought a XP Pro... Tried to format the drive it did not show me the hard drive.

Direct booting from cd said that it found no hard drive to load. I am just desperate and sick of this VISTA. Please help to get rid of this OS.

Come on first, site of the manufacturer of your computer, check to see if your model computer has XP drivers available for it...

If the XP drivers are not available for your model, forget the idea.

If Yes, download and save to a CD or Flash drive.

Save all your data because it will be lost during the installation of XP.

Then follow the steps below to do a clean install.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • HP Pavilion 17 - I was sick, created my recovery disks and a BIG thank you

After being sick for about 7 days, I was finally able to create my recovery disks on Friday, 1/24.  Everything seems fine except for a couple of pop-ups in the process.  The two pop-up windows had to do with DVD RW drive E one say a word on the listen to what is happening with removable disks and another on plays to see what is happening with the blank discs.  These 2 messages appeared after having burned the first disc, discs later and disappeared before I could answer.  But, I think that the creative process was not serious, because each disk burned correctly, each disc has been verified and message saying something on start-up line was made.

I also read in my sense that you delete the recovery partition on the hard disk to reclaim space for additional storage.  Is this something rreally what should be done?

Also my Revovery (D reader says it was modifed 01 24, 2014 at 10:38, file type.)  Why we say that, when I created only the recovery discs?

In addition, on my HP Support Assistant it said still to creat in 2 sections recovery discs, one in "Updated and developed them, HP messages" in the section «Battery and performance»  I used the printed instructions from HP to create consumer support of discs.  This is - why it still makes its appearance in the HP Support Assistant and I can remove them from there?

Thanks-Yous of thanks go out to those who have helped me on this site, especially CherylG.

CherylG, you've been very patient with me for answering all my questions.  I know that I have brought you crazy with some of them!  And I can certainly understand that, but you show no frustration with me in the comments to my questions.  You know, be patient with us, the elderly (laughing while typing this comment).  I know for a fact that I will have that other qustions happen if I can't easily find the answers in the online documents.  I hope that you will help me once again (LOL, laughint outloud here).

Oh, I noticed the length of time you've been helping people on this forum and the number of responses you have accumulated in this time.  I am very sure that there are many people who have used and still use this forum appreciate your expert help... I know I do.

    Thank you, once again.

A little encouragement?  I would say that you have provided a lot of encouragement I really needed.  Thank you for your answers to my questions in the post above.  Oh, the information on the HP Wizard program in the manufacture of recovery disks that disappeared.

Thanks again for your expert advice.

  • Cisco RV042 questions

    Hi all

I installed our first RV042 router as I am getting a little sick of the mediocrity of the game with Zyxel and hope to use for all of my clients in the future.

We have a problem where every morning when the user arrives to work there seem no internet. The isp said it is fine and more but no one can work, restart the router solves the problem. We use only wan1 and have installed the latest firmware, but get this question. I swapped the router with another brand and it sounds great. It is as if something expires and stops the router to work

Someone at - there clues here please

    Thank you

    glenn_btn,

My name is Ishmael. IAM with small business support team. Making excuses for the question about your RV042. I found the best solution to solve the problem of internet connectivity is by disabling the Network Service detection. Now if you were to look at your logs you would see THAT NSD cannot connect. Reason for that this router will give you this message is because when there is no connection detected for your inactive WAN (in your case WAN2) router sends then an error message down your WAN1. To disable the NSD, simply go to the system management > DUAL WAN settings and uncheck the box to turn it off completely. Don't forget to activate this feature, once you decide to make another connection to WAN2.

  • T30 power supply problem!

    Hello

My thinkpad T30 has the following problem:

Turn - indicator and white lcd

no thing happen just indicator on!

I removed the battery for 1 min then try again so it works correctly, the problem me wit get more than 10 times

    over the last year.

and now does not work in all cases

    What should I do?

Here's a question for you? Your problem of power comes from the battery itself or the motherboard?

This is what you can try to do it.

    (1) remove the battery and power cord

    2) press the power button on 10 times

    (3) press and hold the button for 30 seconds

    (4) connect the power cord only

    (5) try to turn on the unit.

Your device should still be able to turn on with just the AC power. If you see only the 2 LED (the one with the circle and the 'Z' patter, which is the power on status, the other is one that looks like the plug of power supply) and your unit is still not lit, then you need to replace your motherboard...

If you can power your device successfully, try plug the battery later and see if it will charge at maximum capacity. So go ahead and remove the power cord. If your unit loses power immediately at the time you remove the power cord, then Yes, you have a bad battery and must be replaced.

Let me know if that helps you at all. Care.

    See you soon,.

    Thank you for your time

If you have performed an upgrade in place dedicated to Windows 8 of Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 is still installed and must be localizable/able to work without any problem.  So the link I gave in my original answer which - when visited - explains how to start a Microsoft Office application in Windows 8 * if * Microsoft Office is installed.  Given the trouble you've had so far, I would first try the instructions 'charm research' on this page.

If you have performed a clean installation somehow (rather than an upgrade) - then, you need to install Microsoft Office 2010 again from the installation media.  If it's a download (Microsoft Office), you must either download it again or if all goes well you copied the files/Installer downloaded to external media.  You also need a product key for Microsoft Office 2010 in this case.
