Side-by-Side error Vista

Hello

Our windows Vista (Business 32) (which has never had problems before) starts to go crazy a few days ago (I think it happened after a Windows automatic update a night). I've seen a few posts about similar problems regarding CIHI but none that I found are the same as ours. At this stage are the things that no longer works:

ITunes (Itunes is not installed correctly. Please reinstall, Windows 7 error 14001)
Microsoft Office, all Applications (this file has not a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set Associations control panel. And after this error from coast to coast)
AVG anti-virus (would not at all and reinstall has not defined)
Adobe Acrobat and all attachments won't charge via Internet Explorer or Opera.
QuickTime (side by side Configuration is incorrect. Please see App the event log for more details)
Windows Messenger (side mistakenly side also)

Event Viewer when opened says "MMC could not create the snap. The snap can not been installed correctly. Name: CLSID Event Viewer: FX: {etc.)

I would try to reinstall Vista, but the CD is in another country still waiting in a box shipped so not really be an option for the time being and all our wedding plans (6 weeks) are on this computer, so we can not lose anything (not that we can load anything without office). Have also tried reinstalling all the separate programs, but just to get the same error.

I tried SFC/Scannow and discovered errors, but he could not fix. I tried to update Vista through the Windows Update tool, but it gets updated 3 reboot and then reverses all the updates that are saying that they could be updated and restoration of the changes.

I tried to reinstall C ++ and update and delete the 5 and 8, but no difference! Also I tried the system restore, but my restore points are 3 days ago and it happened before that date. Try to fix dl now

Thanks a lot for your help!

daniel8822,
If the SFC/scannow found problems cannot be rectified, then the next step would be to perform an inplace upgrade or a clean install (both in need of media).  With, which seems to be, the sudden appearance of these questions I suspect strongly some type of infection virus\malware could be the cause.  You can try an online scanner.  Here are some links with lots of info on malware\virus removal:

2 days when I started Microsoft word, I received an error by-Side. I restarted my computer thinking it was a problem and it's the same thing. Today, 99.9% of my programs all get them the same error when I try to open them. I looked on the Internet using my I-phone and he said to download and install an update of certain. The problem is my Internet does not also because of the error same impact on it and also my computer will not install the updates already in my Q because the windows installer is also affected by the by-Side error. So, is that being said, possible more to come this with Vista reinstall them and lose everything? The funny this is the actual update, I need to solve this problem according TO the forums is sitting in my Q last week (automatic download) the automatic update feature never got installed because windows setup is affected.

    Hi Pappito,

This problem occurs because the runtime libraries are not installed on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. Applications that use the libraries by-side cannot operate without the runtime libraries. There is a KB 923014 Article that talks about the error 59.

I also suggest you to run a check of system files on the computer:

    1. click on the start menu, choose all programs, then Accessories, and then right-click on the item to the command prompt and select run as administrator.
    2. click on continue to allow to open a prompt with administrative privileges.
    3. run this command in the cmd prompt: sfc/scannow
    4. the cmd prompt should list text stating "start system analysis. This process will take time. »
    5. wait for the scan to complete (this may take several minutes, so be patient).  This command will scan all protected system files and attempt to replace the incorrect versions by appropriate Microsoft versions
    6. once the analysis is complete, the SFC tool will indicate whether or not it found no problems and whether or not he was able to correct
    7. If any errors are reported that SFC could not resolve, there are steps in this knowledge base article which explain how to locate and attempt to correct the errors.
    8. after fixing the errors found.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Side-By-Side errors on 99% of the programs... I need help!

Two nights ago, I turned off my computer and let it install the updates as she did. Windows update history lists as follows:

    Tool to remove malware Windows x 64-may 2009 (KB890830)
Update definition for Windows Defender - KB915597 (definition 1.57.1329.0)

Two of them were installed 5/14, I shut down the computer.

Yesterday, 5/15, I turned on the computer, and Lo and behold, something went horribly wrong. If I try to run one program other than Internet Explorer and Explorer (Windows Update included) basic stuff, I get this error:
    ------
    [Executable path]

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Check the log of events applications for more details.
    -----

I went to the section "Updates installed" programs and features in the control panel section so that I could roll back these patches and discovered that, apparently, no updates have been installed on 5/14, according to that.

Apparently, however, my google-fu is weak, and very little my research has turned up. Supposedly, there is a DLL error... but all the pages I found were limited to one or two programs - not all single program on the computer.

I managed to discover that WordPad is working also. Is the file that is broken, according to the application log,
    X86_microsoft. Windows.isolationautomation_6595b64144ccf1df_1.0.0.0_none_35d357a66c38ade4.manifest
in the C:\Windows\winsxs\ directory. It is supposed to be XML, and instead it's like the old BACK/start Windows INI files... so why windows is finding an XML error on line 0 of the file (or says the event viewer).

In particular, I'm under Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit... If someone out there happens to perform this same type of system and wants to look for this file and somehow get the content for me, I'd be very happy.

Success!  I'm so happy that I don't have to reinstall windows (and it would have been very difficult for me to choose to reinstall vista).

I had a devil of a time getting the permissions set so that I could write the file.  I had to change the permissions on the folder of manifests to allow administrators to write.  Then I had to change the permissions on the wrong file to allow administrators to change.  I chose to rename it with BAD in name rather than delete it.  This allowed me to copy the replacement file in the directory.  I also took possession of the directory and the file to be able to do it, but this may not have been necessary.

BTW, the only group that has the permission to write to this file is TrustedInstallers.  I guess that windows update shouldn't be in this group.

After my success I did a system restore point, but that has not helped before.  I also copy the folder of manifests to my backup drive.  All of the 71 046 files.  It takes some time.

  • Cannot start Office applications after Windows Update. Clear side-by-Side error caused by the file of damaged

Windows Update automatically ran yesterday on my Vista 64 Home Premium SP1 system.  Today, I can't run any Office Applications. I get an error popup that says: "the application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Check the log of events applications for more details. »
I learned how to use Event Viewer and found that a mistake by-side happening and a manifest file has been altered.
    The file is: x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.3053_none_d08d7bba442a9b36

Where can I get a clean copy of this file?  It is just a simple XML file.  Do a system restore is not good.

    Hello Astroguy,

Thank you for your response back!

Good to know that you have done a repair install.  What I would do is run the SFC scan, because you performed the installation of repair recently the chances are that the SFC scan should be good.  If there is a problem, it will signal you when finished.

Then I would go to Windows Update to check if he has new updates and/or try to update all those who did not.  If you still get the updates that do not please let us know what he's trying to put up-to-date and error.

  • Visual Studio 2010 Side By Side error invalid XML syntax

I spent much of last week trying to research and make changes of trial and error to solve this problem, and nothing has helped. I am full of ideas. I get exactly the same results on all programs, on which I worked in Visual Studio. I also had it on Visual Studio once, forcing me to have to reinstall Visual Studio to correct.

    The question:

I have just published a new i7 Windows 7 x 64 system base to replace my old system of Windows 7 x 32 i3. They both have the latest patches and the latest .NET until 4.5.2. I also use Visual Studio 2010 with all the patches except service pack 1 (although I tried at a time with the service pack and it made no difference). I also tried 4.6.1, .NET and it made no difference. This new system is brand new, with very little installed outside Microsoft Office, SQL Server 2012 Management Studio and Visual Studio 2010, Windows 7.

For these past years, I've worked on 6 programs different here (so far), and we use TFS for source code control. On the new system, I lower the code and it compiles properly for all solutions. I can run the programs of many times without any problem and the event logs show any problem of their execution.

Then, after restarting the system, none of the program will run. When I try to run one of them, I get immediately a dialog modal system indicating that the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

When you look at the event log, I always get the following error next message:

Activation context generation failed for "[program]". Manifest error or the folder policy "[program] .exe." Configuration"on line 1. Invalid Xml syntax.

NOTE: replace [program] with the path + name of the given program.

I use the system generated 'by default' unmodified manifest files. I tried to review them and files config in XMLNotepad, and no problem was indicated, except in the manifest, he noted that the first schema referenced file assembly.adaptive.xsd which was not anywhere.

When you review the configuration file, the line in question is:

The original line of the app.config from which it is copied is:

If I remove the encoding = "Windows-1252" part, the program runs without incident, although .NET puts the right encoding of part in the first run. I tried to put the udf-8 coding and .NET simply replaces the encoding with the above value at the start of the program. After a reboot, it is unable to run again for the same reason, until I have change the configuration again. This isn't a solution long term for production code!

If I change the project settings and disable the Click Once security settings and set the project do not generate a manifest, then he works constantly (several tracks to try again and several restarts without incident). However, I use Click Once to deploy updates, so it's not a useful alternative to long term because at the time wherever I try to publish to Click Once, it changes the security settings of full trust automatically and generates a manifest, triggering the problem even once. This also causes the advertised program with the same problem for everyone who gets the update.

These programs all compiled and ran on my old system without incident, even after multiple system restarts. They also have deployment click once without problem, and the click once deployment took place without incident.

It is as if .NET does not recognize the encoding "Windows-1252". And, since the only real difference between my old and new systems is the former is x 32 and the new is x 64, so I think it has something to do with the x 64 version. But that is only a guess.

My new system is essentially unusable as a system of development because of this problem at the present time.

Norton analyzes OK.  I have windows vista Home premium hp a6530f.  I tried to check some internet search a few successes and failures.  Vista prob?  or what frustrated... It seems to come just after that comes the hp Advisor I took off Autostart upward and illuminates when later.  Same hp advisor mess upward.  When I go to open actually he said Crash! Burn!  A whole list of technical things that I don't even know. Is it something on the hp Advisor who is the cause? Help, please.

Very well.  I'm sorry back my internet has been down for a few days. , due to internet services.  I had to do a system restore before all the trouble started which my last one was about 8/21 - 8/24 of 2009.  I don't have the error again, I got to work with microsoft to see what was going on. A couple of udates were corrupted.  In addition, if it has something to do with the hp Advisor, when he came before I did the sys restore.  My health check did not work well, nothing that worked very well.  Advise total seems to work very well right now at the moment.   I could remove hp advisor after all to come back. I don't know if there were any other issues the hp advsior mdac 2.8 or superior and vista 64?  Right now, things seem to be resolved.  Other thing, twelve sys restore I had to reinstall my anti-virus software. (norton 360).  Had no probs that much with it.  Works great keeping virus out etc.

How this error can be fixed?

    Hello

    1. when exactly did you receive this error message?

2 are you able to install other updates to windows correctly?

    Method 1:

I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

To set up the computer in a clean boot, follow the steps in the link: How to perform a clean boot

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After checking in the clean boot, follow step: 7 article to reset your computer to normal startup.

    Method 2:

How do I rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution of Vista-

    1. stop the Windows Update service (make sure that you are logged on as administrator)

Start button | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Administration tools
    Double-click on Services
(Provide the administrator password or a confirmation if prompted to do so.)
Right-click the Windows Update service and click on stop.

    2. Click Start, type %windir%\System32 in the search box and press ENTER.

Find and rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.

    3. start the Windows Update service

Start button | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Administration tools
    Double-click on Services
(Provide the administrator password or a confirmation if prompted to do so.)
Right-click the Windows Update service and click Start.

This procedure will erase your history on the Windows Update Site. Not important.
You can always check what updates have been installed quite easily.

    Method 4:

Try to reset the Windows Update components

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
