Sierra OSX mail

Hi Apple,

Just upgraded to OSX Sierra 10.12 (A 16, 323), MacBook Pro (17 inch, early 2011).

2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, RAM = 8 GB DDR3 at 1333 MHz.

After upgrading to Sierra, e-mail was completely rebuild, and now the app slows system performance where my Mac is almost unusable.  Spinning balls, delays of 30 seconds, etc..

After leaving messaging, things speed up slightly.  Restart my Mac accelerates again until I run the Messaging.

Could you please tell, and if it is a common problem, could you please address it in the next update of Sierra?  Had no problem under Yosemite.

Thank you very much
Erik

  • Sierra sort mail - how?

I have just updated my Mac Mini to 10.12 OS and use files within the post to sort the incoming mail under different headings, as 'recipes' 'purchases', 'friends', etc..  in order of date of receipt.

Under the Sierra I seems to have lost this order for - how do I get it back?  It doesn't seem to be a column of date of receipt click on the topic, in order to reorganize the contents of this folder in descending date order, or indeed, any order date?  The positions are now only "from" and "subject", but nothing else - I'll have to look through hundreds of emails to find the newest - help, please!

  • macOS Mail Sierra app mailing list oldest first

    Hello

I use the classic layout in mail (the list) with the new mail showing at the bottom of the list. Since I've upgraded to Sierra, Mail displays always the first mail in the list above, well always new mail is selected, after it is brought to the foreground. This occurs when the mail was completely closed and when it has been reduced.

I checked the Mail preferences, but I couldn't find any option it. So I guess that's a little bug in the Sierra.

If anyone can confirm this? Or someone has a solution, even for that?

It is not an option for me change the order to the new messaging on top, because I'm too used to this layout (and it has always worked!).

    Thanks and greetings

    Niko

Edit: I found a topic on the same issue in OS x Lion, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be resolved:

Hi, when you have your mail open application, you will see the gray bar on the top of your mail... it will say: sort by date. If you click on this bar, at the bottom of the bar, you will see more former message on top, or, most recent on top. You can also check your display on your menu bar bar higher, so that your email application is primarily first, and it has the same selections.

  • Sierra slow mail

    Hi guys,.

    My current computer:

    MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012)

Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1024Mo of 650M; Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

    My question:

I've updated to Sierra yesterday and everything works great except for one thing: my mail is slow, to be more precise it takes about 2 seconds to display the content of the mail of the far-right when I click on a new email. This is for all the emails that I receive, not only the emails with attachments. All this comes from another speed for Mail is perfect - it is only isolated for the loading of the content of the e-mail.

I would appreciate any feedback to try to solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

  • El Capitan OSX Mail CPU memory overload

I had this problem before with Mail slows everything down. Finally, it seems back to normal, given the time. However, right now now on opening mail the application increases its use of memory to 10gigs. I tried to empty the mailbox store and deleting deleted items. I also tried to reset by pressing the SHIFT key on it from the finder. Nothing works.

Try to start safe mode and test there. Safe mode resets the caches and a few other things.

  • Unusable since the Sierra mail upgrade

When first, I upgraded my iMAC to Sierra (10.12), Mail would crash whenever I tried to select the "Sent" folder Most of the other cases could access fine; some would also Mail crashing. Sierra of re-installed, no luck.

Today, mail started crashing on a few other issues. Then, finally, he crashed altogether and will reopen; whenever I try to open the application, I get a "Mail quit unexpectedly" dialog and dump. I think it's the most relevant information:

ending with an exception uncaught of print type

Once more, I reinstalled Sierra, but still cannot open the Mail at all. Any thoughts?

    Hi PTDiMarzio,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple.

You can correct Mail Mac OS X 10.12 Sierra does not ("Mail quit unexpectedly") by removing the folder container "com.apple.mail.savedState." Mac OS X saves the locations of the window and documents open most programs to restore them when the program is started after you quit smoking. Sometimes after upgrading from Mac OS X to the latest version, there may be some problems of manipulation with the prior consent of the State of the mail which could lead to Sierra registered mail is not an answer and crashing.

How to remove the Mail from the saved state:

    1. Force quit Mail app ('Application is not responding do not"question!).
    2. Go to the Finder.
    3. Hold the Option key and select 'library' in the menu 'go. '
    4. Go to the folder 'containers > com.apple.mail > data > library > state saved application' and move the folder called "com.apple.mail.savedState" to the trash.
    5. Empty the trash.
    6. Restart your Mac.
    7. Mail recovery.

    Hope this will help.

    See you soon!

  • E-mail with Sierra issues

Since the macOS Sierra update, Mail did was wrong.  Among the problems:

    (1) smart mailboxes show no messages

    (2) "read" messages are not displayed (but I can find them in the search).  This affects reception, Archive box, smart mailboxes, etc.  If I mark as "Unread" they appear in boxes to the letters.

I use a gmail account that connects with the IMAP protocol.

A thread suggested I have rebuild cache of the projector.  Fact, no help.

Another thread suggested to remove the e-mail account of the Mac, and then add it back.  Fact, no help.

    Any suggestions?

    (1) attempt to set up a test account, see if the problem is global, or just linked to your account.

    CREATE A NEW USER

Go to system-> Preferences, create a new user in users and groups.

Switch to the new user by logging incoming/outgoing or use the fast user switching.

You can skip signature with your Apple ID, unless you test iCloud Mail.

By default only the applications Apple will be in the dock in the new user. Go to Applications to open other apps, that you can test.

A thread suggested I have rebuild cache of the projector.  Fact, no help.

    (2) did you restart your Mac after the rebuilding of Spotlight?

Often the best way to return the Spotlight feature is to restart the Mac. Restart in SafeMode to start, then reboot normally.

    Secure boot

    * stop

    * start the Mac and * wait * to start the sound chime

    * After the sound, press on and hold down the SHIFT key

    * required to keep and * wait * until appears the gray  Apple logo

    * now, release the SHIFT key and wait (this could take a few minutes)

    * Finally, the login screen appears with the words SAFE BOOT

    * restart normally

  • Message to the outside, mail

So I was on vacation for a week, come back today and learned that my message on the outside has absolutely nothing. I've got people who think that I just ignored the days now. I'm not happy.

This IMAP account is on two computers, my job and my home. I've implemented the rule to the work and tested very well (not enforce), shut down the computer.

At home, I don't think even to test the account again once and shut down the computer before leaving.

I have to set up the answer further on EACH computer on which the IMAP account connected to it? or only for the last device that will receive mail? (Sense judgment of the work computer, go home, install the rule here, then stop that comp)

Finally and this better not be true, but OSX Mail needs to be running for the rule to be active?

If you configure the rule in your mail client, the client must be run to have the rule to work. Instead of putting in place such a rule is on the mail server. This by accessing the page from the server web mail.

  • El Capitan Mail & Calendar

    Hi all;

Day 1, I got a Mac (about 2.5 years ago) I sync from the OSX calendar and Contacts with Google that I maintain as main repo for such data.

Now. Recently, I started using OS x Mail to receive emails from a particular mailbox and whenever a calendar event is due I am sent an e-mail from OSX Mail. How can I stop this? I ONLY want to stop mail notifications not popups.

    Thank you

    I have.

    Greetings, ianusg!

It seems that if a setting in the calendar application on your MacBook Pro running 10.11.6 must be changed. Just to be sure I understand, you are wanting only the emails to stop. I'll be happy to help you!

Calendar (El Capitan): define an event alert and notifications -use this article to remove the custom e-mail alert is sent to you.

Be careful and please use the Apple Support communities.

  • Why the mail client doesn't know that I replied to a message?

I have finally confirmed that if I answer an e-mail filed, or forward a message, the message is not saved on my sent mail, nor is it marked as responding to / transmitted. All other IMAP clients that I use (OSX Mail, Thunderbird, the Squirrel Mail, K9) is able to update the status of message, but does not have the email filed client.

    I'm doing something wrong?

It turns out that it is a real bug.
