Sierra slow mail
Hi guys,.
My current computer:
MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012)
Processor: 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1024Mo of 650M; Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
My question:
I've updated to Sierra yesterday and everything works great except for one thing: my mail is slow, to be more precise it takes about 2 seconds to display the content of the mail of the far-right when I click on a new email. This is for all the emails that I receive, not only the emails with attachments. All this comes from another speed for Mail is perfect - it is only isolated for the loading of the content of the e-mail.
I would appreciate any feedback to try to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
I have an upgrade of Sierra after similar question
Some e-mail messages load quickly, others take minutes, be they large or small. Cannot find any model.

Hi Apple,
Just upgraded to OSX Sierra 10.12 (A 16, 323), MacBook Pro (17 inch, early 2011).
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, RAM = 8 GB DDR3 at 1333 MHz.
After upgrading to Sierra, e-mail was completely rebuild, and now the app slows system performance where my Mac is almost unusable. Spinning balls, delays of 30 seconds, etc..
After leaving messaging, things speed up slightly. Restart my Mac accelerates again until I run the Messaging.
Could you please tell, and if it is a common problem, could you please address it in the next update of Sierra? Had no problem under Yosemite.
Thank you very much

Is anyone of another search slow mail after the last update of El Capitan?
I think slower mail (more clearly than anything else) after the last El Capitan upgraded 10.11.4 - but I don't see any other chatter about this on the web. Anyone find this?
No, not here.

Removal of slow mail returned after a reboot in safe mode. Norton Anti-Virus analyzes e-mails to off, no help. After restarting in safe mode, it worked for about 2 days.
Let windows search not verified. However, I noticed many filters put in place by me to eliminate the unacceptable emails. Given that I erased these filters, it seems to work better. Sometimes slow, but for the most part better.

Slow mail after upgrade of the Sierra
Since my upgrade to Sierra, Mail has been slow to load messages. Before, when I chose a message in mail seems almost instantly in the viewer of allowing me to pass by mail with either the arrow or remove the key quickly. Now when a message is selected, it takes a second or two for the message in the Viewer. Really boring. Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you, Tom
I can understand how it would be boring. I suggest the reconstruction of the mailbox, or all the mailboxes, according to the following: Mail for Mac: rebuild the mailbox.
It will take a few moments to complete, based on the total number of messages in the mailbox store. Until he finishes, it is normal to see the content of the overview column Mail flash message or disappear briefly that she rebuilt the message database. It will also slow to mail operation until there finishes.
It would be prudent to back up your Mac before doing this, but if rebuilding a mailbox causes all e-mail messages that are deleted they were probably not recoverable in any case. I recommend you save in this particular circumstance in an abundance of caution, but it is something that everyone should do.

Fans of fast and slow mail after upgrade of Sierra
So I too just upgraded to Sierra, and I have two problems. The first I noticed almost immediately after a reboot is something is causing fans to run almost non-stop. I looked at the level of the console and I see that several root applications use more than 100% of the time CPU. What the hell is happening here?
Second, Mail has now slowed down to the point that it is almost unusable. I click on an email and it will literally be anywhere from 15 to 20 seconds for the mail to open. Not a complex HTML with email of old thing plain video simple. What the hell is happening here? It's maddening.

I have just updated my Mac Mini to 10.12 OS and use files within the post to sort the incoming mail under different headings, as 'recipes' 'purchases', 'friends', etc.. in order of date of receipt.
Under the Sierra I seems to have lost this order for - how do I get it back? It doesn't seem to be a column of date of receipt click on the topic, in order to reorganize the contents of this folder in descending date order, or indeed, any order date? The positions are now only "from" and "subject", but nothing else - I'll have to look through hundreds of emails to find the newest - help, please!

macOS Mail Sierra app mailing list oldest first
Hello
I use the classic layout in mail (the list) with the new mail showing at the bottom of the list. Since I've upgraded to Sierra, Mail displays always the first mail in the list above, well always new mail is selected, after it is brought to the foreground. This occurs when the mail was completely closed and when it has been reduced.
I checked the Mail preferences, but I couldn't find any option it. So I guess that's a little bug in the Sierra.
If anyone can confirm this? Or someone has a solution, even for that?
It is not an option for me change the order to the new messaging on top, because I'm too used to this layout (and it has always worked!).
Thanks and greetings
Niko
Edit: I found a topic on the same issue in OS x Lion, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be resolved:

Hi, when you have your mail open application, you will see the gray bar on the top of your mail... it will say: sort by date. If you click on this bar, at the bottom of the bar, you will see more former message on top, or, most recent on top. You can also check your display on your menu bar bar higher, so that your email application is primarily first, and it has the same selections.

Mac is too slow, Mail is blocked and will not open!
Hello
Two problems in one - slow Mac and the Mail app crashing!
I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Since the last few days my Mac slowed considerably and takes a long time to start, search, and perform several tasks. Everything freezes and the small circle of color appears in almost everything I try to do. After waiting for a while, it could be 4-5 minutes, I can get back to work.
I used only about 150 GB of my 1 TB HARD drive space.
Today the mail has crashed and when I click on the 'Open' button it goes down just yet once without opening the window. Other applications like suggestd and some internal applications also keep crashing.
Can someone help me understand what to do? Thank you!!
Hello cbhuta,
Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I have a problem with your Mac after update of OS X El Capitan, is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to open the mail and your Mac is running more slowly than expected. To refine and resolve this problem, I suggest these steps in the following order:
1. start using disk utility to repair all easily correctable problem on OS X, or on your drive can be attributed to these issues by following the steps in this article:
Disk utility (El Capitan): a disc repair
2. then use Mode without fail to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, remove files from the system cache, check your startup disk and trying to fix problems if necessary directory.
Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning
Graphics performance limited in recovery of OS X or in safe mode3. you can find out if this unexpected behavior is related to the user file or parameter in trying to reproduce the problem to a different user account. This process includes creating a new user account, connect to it and test for the issue.
How to test a question in another account on your Mac.
See you soon!

Modern slow mail app or crashes if you have a large number of files
I have a large amount of mail and upgraded to the new mail app, when I open the mail or switch folders that the app gets real slow. How can I fix?
After the update to your e-mail to 318 version application, you may have noticed that when you open mail or change records/account app slows down or crashes. This happens if you have a large number of files, usually around 200 to 300.
Note: to find out what version you have:
1. open the Mail application.
2. drag the right edge of the screen, or move your mouse to the upper right.
3. Select settings and click on to words. (The version number appears.)
Workaround
The only way to avoid this problem is to reduce the number of files.
Once you reduce the number of records to a more acceptable level, the Mail app will work normally.

Windows 8 slow mail delivery of messages
Hi all
I installed Win 8 Professional and experiencing problems with the Mail application. When it starts, it quickly shows a list of my Inbox of emails for a while but then replaces the 'spinning' points that can last literally minutes. Once the list is displayed, behavior happen again if I do anything – open an email, select email to delete, etc..This problem didn't occur during the installation (about two weeks ago) - it manifests itself only in the last week or two and seems to be deteriorating. I tried to find out if there was a way to rebuild the database of e-mail but could not.Thank youTomI could solve my problem by disabling the scanner of my anti-antivirus-software (AVG Free) mail.

One user posted (Re: Sierra - Yahoo mail offline persistently) he has had success in choosing don't no Yahoo when you set up the account, but to choose the other and set up the details manually. You would like to try and see if it works for you.
