  On a new installation of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Core x 64 SP2 on VMware Workstation 9.0.1 I see probably an accident in the Basic Service of VMware (vmtoolsd.exe) tools every time almost immediately on login. The installation is completely cool with VMware Tools installed immediately after initial configuration of the operating system is complete. The exact error I get is as follows:

  Fatal error VMware Tools: (vthread-3)

  Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation) occurred.

  I took a glance at the VMware KB but nothing really seemed to match what I see:

  • VMware tools on a machine virtual Windows fails with the error: Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation)
    Error is the same, but only seems to apply to a scenario of upgrade of the tools, and this is a new installation. I checked duplicates anyway but found nothing.
  • Improve tools VMware Fusion 4 or 8 workstations fails with the error: fatal error VMware Tools
    Error is identical, but this problem has been resolved in Workstation 8.0.1 should not apply.
  • Upgrade VMware Tools 5.1 causes spew of log in the Windows event log: error in the RPC receive loop
    This error is the most close and on adding in the configuration tools.conf the future restart didn't plant so I thought initially it was corrected. However, the subsequent reboot had the same problem again. I checked the tools.conf was still in place to be sure (that was).

  Interestingly, at the time of this problem I have also installed several other virtual machines listed below. Only the Server 2008 Core VM sees this question makes me think it is something specific to this particular operating system. Perhaps a missing DLL VMware expected to exist given it is a Core type installation? Other virtual machines installed very well:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x 64 SP2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64 SP1
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Core x 64 SP1 R2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 x 64
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Core x 64

  I have attached a few dumps if someone VMware wants to study more. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

  It seems that Windows 2008 Core is not explorer.exe, and it is part of the tools dealing with the integration of the unit which does not handle this correctly.

  Try to delete the following file tool to disable the functionality of the unit, and restart Windows:

  C:\Program VMware Tools\plugins\vmusr\unity.dll

  The rest of the functionality of tools such as changing resolution and copy + paste should continue to work even without the Unity plugin.

  I just installed the SDK software WebWorks 2.2 on my machine that had already been recorded for signature tool.  When I run the 2.2 bbwp process and add the key to existing signature tool, is not through the package manager process.

  Is there a way I can use existing signature files or what I have to redo the entire signature process?

  I'm trying to sign our application and the signature tool is suspended after getting about 20 of 54 signatures. Once it crashes it will never come back. I have to use the Task Manager to kill him. Anyone have any ideas on what goes wrong?

  When I use the selection tool the selection is not in the right place. program feels weird.

  IT hangs just does not show even a mistake just benggg has stopped working.

  I was having the same problem and found the solution from Adobe.

  Go to the Control Panel - hardware and audio - display-

  change the size of the text for the smallest a 100%

  Restart the OS and start adobe flash

  I would first try resetting the preferences of photoshop by down Cmd + Option + shift keys at startup cs6.

  Keep hold down the keys until you get a dialog box asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file and press Yes because you do.

  If this makes no difference, see if unchecking CPU graph using in the Adobe Photoshop > preferences > Preformance then by restarting photoshop cs6 works.
