Significance of the 'End of warranty' date on the Officejet printhead?

I just bought a couple of HP 940 Officejet printheads via an online retailer.

It indicates an 'end of warranty' date of July 2013.     The other shows "warranty ends" Jan 2012 (IE next month).

I contacted the dealer as out of date, I was also unhappy that the print head was sent without a standard cardboard packaging.  Just the printhead in its tray plastic with the seal of white paper in place.

The retailer said that the HP warranty "for the 18 months after the date on the box.

I observed that on the box outside cardboar4d, thyere is only the date, while on the white sheet, it has the same date but includes the words "guarantee ends."

My questions:

-with an 'end of warranty' date Jan 2012, this means that it is an 'old' print head and that maybe it's not good to use, or may not give a full life?  for example, as an expiry date?

-What is the significance of the date on the box and the phrase "warrany ends" on the sheet-seal on the plastic tray holding the print head?

Thank you

Colin

Colin,

The warranty on the box (or in this case paper) date is the last date where HP will cover the accessory as under warranty. In this case, there is no guarantee of 18 months after that date.

The element can work perfectly for a while after the date, but it is not covered by the warranty if a problem should arise.

The greater longevity of your supplies, you choose an item with an end of warranty date as far in the future.

The official warranty statement is listed here.

Thank you

    Hello

I just bought a new laptop today (January 30, 2015), after that I checked the status of the guarantee to the HP Web site, it displays as below.

Which I am now confused, I guess that the guarantee was to last until January 30, 2016 (not 23 November 2015 as indicated).

Please could someone clarify or perhaps the question I bought was defective or the store gave me a used returned by their client...?

  • What is the significance of the CURSOR WITH HOLD clause in a cursor declaration?

What is the significance of the CURSOR WITH HOLD clause in a cursor declaration?

A cursor that has been declared with the clause WITH HOLD, after the word CURSOR remains open after a COMMIT or a ROLLBACK. The following example shows how to use the following clause:

EXEC SQL DECLARE C1 CURSOR WITH HOLD FOR SELECT ENAME FROM EMP WHERE EMPNO BETWEEN 7600 AND 7700 END-EXEC.

The cursor must not be declared for the UPDATE. The WITH HOLD clause is used in DB2 to override the default, which is to close all cursors on validation. Pro * COBOL provides this clause in order to facilitate the migration of applications to DB2 to Oracle. When MODE = ANSI, use Oracle DB2 default, but all host variables must be declared in a declare Section.

    Hi Adam,.

It seems that most of that would be due at the end of the first year of the promotional prices (initiation) for education customers.

As for the rest, if you read this related Forum thread, it should give you a better idea on how & why happen currency-related price changes.

    Hope that helps.

  • L7590 The following printhead (s) has a problem: (part 1

    I started getting the following message: "the following printhead (s) has a problem: yellow/black [K/Y], magenta/cyan [M/C]»

I was recently hurt of paper a little, jams with no ink on paper (all colors, even if I'm only gray printing). I carefully located and removed all the paper, including tiny specifications.

Then printing began showing spots in particular parts of the page. Using a lint cloth and isopropyl carefully wiped food surfaces. I also deleted the print heads very carefully and delicately wiped away all the dirt. I did the same thing for the ink cartridges. All the cleaning was done with a lot of attention with touch. Initially, I got the above message for the black, but shortly, I received the message for the two print heads. (cont'd)

    Thank you, Rainbow 7000.

I carefully studied the problem and come to the conclusion that the printhead is certainly well beyond resuscitation.

The cost of the new leader, as well as a few other problems - the sheet feeder has stopped working altogether earlier and the paper feed has been less and less reliable insofar as it is a real nuisance - led me to search for a replacement. The very high cost of replacing the head and the fact that, in this country (Australia), it seems impossible to get any technical support after the warranty expired, led me to look elsewhere and I ended up buying a Brother J6910DW, who, in addition to all the things that HP could do, also manages A3, for about twice the price of a print head for the L7590. So far, it works beautifully, was a dream to set up and the same paper that was giving me all sorts of problem fed flawlessly. It's really good to be able to feed several sheets again. It is a pity bigggest I have now several authentic print cartridges I bought recently for HP ink cartridges. Genuine for the brother are also cheaper per page.

  • Windows folder instead of the Officejet 6500 icon icon has more E710n in devices and printers

Can someone help me get the OfficeJet 6500 has more e710n printer to display correctly in devices and Printers icon?

I have recently reinstalled Windows 8.1.  However, when I installed my printer, the printer icon in devices and printers, I get a generic Windows yellow folder icon.  The Fax icon is OK, just the printer icon is wrong.

If I double click the icon, I get a blank page with a message near the top of the page saying: 'information updates are available on your device.  Click here to download or learn more. "If I click on the notice, a drop down menu appears with 'Download update of information' or 'Learn' more.  If I choose Update downloaded information, a new printer window appears which is often empty except for a message in the center of the window that says "no task is available on this page" to learn the most fair option gives me info on the update of drivers.

The icon of the printer in the start menu is fine.

I used HP Print and Scan Doctor uninstall and reinstall my printer, but it did not help.  The program finds a problem with the printer driver and the fixed, but that has not changed the icon either.

I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit fully up to date and used the full version of the HP Installer for the printer (not the basic version) and HP Print and Scan v4.6 doctor.

I have 64-bit Windows 8.1.   I installed Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one-made N-911 using OJ8600 - 1315.exe.   The printer and the software worked fine in Windows 7.   Windows 8.1, the printer works well wirlessly.   It prints, scans, and copies without problem.   I can use the printer window to start scanning and copying.   However, I have an icon on the 8.1 Windows Start Page that says Officejet Pro 8600.   When I click it, it opens a window labled HPSolutionsPortal.hta - Microsoft Visual Studio.  I don't get the Officejet software where I can control the resolution of the scans and files generated by the printer.   How can I access the HP Officejet Pro software?

Click associate a file or Protocol to a specific product type.

Locate the prefix .hta , double click on it, click More Options and select the Microsoft (R) HTML Application Host instead of the selected Visual Studio.

If you can not find this option in the list of scrool to the end and click on watch for another file on your PC.

  • Information found on the Officejets EWS

SAP (built-in web server) is a useful tool which is used in many respects related to networking, it can provide information on Web Services and can also set Static IP and static DNS on the printer.

But, if it is connected to the network via Ethernet or via a wireless connection with the Officejet, it is also a great way to check the ink levels and number of pages.

To access EWS of the printer.  Take the IP address of the printer and type it in a browser on the computer. The IP address can be found under settings wireless to the printer on display or on the Network Configuration report that can be printed.

Once we've hit this address in the browser, the integrated Web server opens to a screen that will show you some basic information on this page. It will be showing the ink levels estimated for the printer.

For more information on the cartridges

    1. click on the tab above titled "Tools".

    2. in the left hand column click ink gauge under product information: there is:

    • For cartridges expiration dates
    • State of health of the print head
    • Using ink in ml

For more information on the use of paper, navigate back to the left column and click report usage under reports. There are information paged in print. It will give a break down on what was printed in black and white and which was printed in color and copy how much was also made on the printer. There is also information on the use of the Scan and Fax also.  Please note that there may be slight differences in the SAP models.

I hope that the funding find it useful. As always, good impression!
