Silverlight on MacBook Pro 10.10.5
Having a problem trying to watch a video on Amazon Prime. He repeats to me I need Silverlight. I see an alias for it in my apps folder, but do not know it there the last larger version.
Is there a way to circumvent the need for Silverlight, since it is a product of MS?
Amazon and I believe that Netflix requires Silverlight. No way around it.

I contacted Microsoft and Netflix to try to resolve the problem. I have a Macbook Pro. I used to be able to stream Netflix. Then, suddenly, I can't. MacBook Pro (3-inches, mid-2012) suddenly started running very slowly; Beach balls very common
About a week and a half, it started running very slowly with the spinning beach balls popping up all the time. This reminds me of how when I have too many tabs of the browser as in the past, but now, even with browsers had closed, open Word or Skype is really slow. (I'm sorry for any confusing formulation; I'm not very computer customer connected, unfortunately!)
Some of the things I've tried so far and EtreCheck below):
-safe mode
-detection of hardware problems (control + D)
-reset the PRAM
-using the utility disc for repair/first care; also check
-wipe the hard drive and reinstalling original OS X Lion (was still slow with beach balls; I tried to install OS X El Capitan to see if that would help, but installation could not finish)
-wipe the hard drive and restarting from a backup previous (one month before the problems started)

You Mbps HARD drive is suspect. Start the recovery (COMMAND-R) partition and select in menu 4 disk utility. Run disk utility > first aid > repair.
Unrelated, but your battery has seen a lot of use. I suggest to replace.

Hello! Can anyone help me in this state of EtreCheck to understand what I need to do to improve performance with my MacBook Pro? The computer is slow to respond after the computer starts. Uninstall Avast. It's a worthless scam that don't do anything useful. The only thing it does is a lot more then what it claims, that he you will protect from.

This week my MacBook Pro 13 inch (end 2011) started to run slowly. The slowdown mainly occurs during internet browsing. I tried clearing my cache, reset my SMC and read other similar topics and followed their advice.

Hello!
I loved using my MacBook Pro. It's REALLY slow. I read all the posts on how to solve the problem and we have tried most of them. Still slow. Nothing wrong with the battery, speakers, etc. Simply slow to move, slow to open apps, beachball for days, takes forever to edit video and audio. I ran EtreCheck as suggested by another user, and here's the summary. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

I have no idea what you have tried, but your HARD drive is suspect. Start 4 option on the partition recovery and in the menu select disk utility. Run disk utility > first aid > repair. If the HARD disk is not repairable the disc must be replaced.

My macbook pro mid-2012 is very slow. Do I need a new battery?

Support on this community has helped me tremendously before so I thought I'd post again about a new problem.
I upgraded my Mac with an SSD, which works very well, with more RAM; However, recently, it has been very slow and train, and I don't know why. RAM is not being crazy, so it must be something else.
After reading the other posts, I'm thinking maybe I need a new battery? I mean I have 893 cycles ahah. Could someone help with this?

Hello. Try restarting your Mac.
Try to start:
-Stop your Mac
-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button
-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key
-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar
-Once your Mac boot, restart dhcpd as you usually do.
If this does not help, follow the instructions below:
-Stop your Mac
-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button
-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key
-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar
-Once you see office, start a scan Disk Utility to detect and repair file system errors (remember to choose your primary hard drive)
-Click on the disc to check, then, if requested to solve the problems on the repair disk
-After that click on verify disk permissions, and then click Repair disk permissions
-Once the process is complete, stop your Mac and turn it on again after 30 seconds

My Macbook Pro has been constantly been too slow in terms of open any application, open any file and graphics intensive anything running. Uninstall the following programs worthless;
Avira
CleanMyMac3
Intego
After removing these programs using the procedures to uninstall for them and do not do just a drag & drop them into the trash. All programs of the pieces themselves everywhere in the OS on your Mac and the only way to get rid of all the crud is to use the uninstall procedure.
Once you do this, please run another report from EtreCheck and post it here. So that we can be sure that it is not something that we've missed.
