• Simple Excel - Elliminating borders table

  Whenever I try to write data in an Excel using Excel easy table report in the Genertaion Toolkit (LabVIEW 8.0) report, it automatically borders around all the cells. I have a contstant 'no formatting' (xlRangeAutoFormateNone) connected to a terminal of automatic formatting of this vi and it doesn't seem to affect it.

  Hi mschaf,

  You can follow these steps:

  (1) select your table control in LabVIEW, right click and choose 'Properties': in the appearance tab, you can uncheck "lines vertical Show ' and ' lines horizontal Show."

  (2) wire a control at the entrance to the 'AutoFormat' in Excel Table.vi easy: there are models of different standard Excel tables that do not have borders around the cells. See for example xlRangeAutoFormatPTNone.

  When you have selected the style you prefer, you can replace the control with a constant.

  Do you mean without errors in the text or formatting? When you place an Excel doc, the Place dialog box allows you to display Import Options. You can choose to place as a non formatted table and apply to any InDesign Table Style.

  I am trying to export an Excel table with hyperlinks added in Adobe Muse. I understand how to export tables using HTML - but when I do that, even if my table is here very well, my break links and does not work when I open them with Muse.

  Table text importer may break the style and links, you can save the spreadsheet as an HTML page and then paste the code in Muse.

  While Dreamweaver CC 2014 was slow as molasses, at least he had some useful features such as copy/paste an Excel table directly in the HTML code. DW CC 15 now seems so married to HTML5 etc, that DIVs are welcome, but the TABLEs are not. Is there something that I am missing?

  I believe that you are in Live view mode, please move to design, and then try to do the same.

  Also with the DW CC 2015 version, a few amendments to editing capabilities please check them too.

  It is a known issue with LV, excel and the European regional settings.

  To work around the problem, do the following:

  To transfer the correct data to Excel, disconnected "use localized comma" in tools-> Frontpanel.

  You can use the "." instead of ',' when you enter numbers, for example "0.99" instead of "0.99".

  In the table easy Excel Help file tells you to return it to Excel (2007) for the formatting of the cells.  I can't understand how a correlation between 'xlrangeautoformatcolor2' or any other format in vi of the cell formatting in Excel.

  Also, when I open Excel after using the simple table vi, the headers are right justified.  Does anyone know how to Center by programming these labels/cells?

  The first thing is to look at the documentation for the ActiveX of Excel interface. Names and labels must be close enough. Second, while it's not explicitly answering your question, I often found it easier to do all the fancy formatting in Excel and just use LV to search the numbers in the cells.

  PS: Also note that MS is really bad on the rewriting of the Active interface for Excel, thereby breaking all existing programs that use the old interface - just a heads up...

  OK, so I promise you, I'm not a fool, but I could be lying at the monment.  I have a table, an orgenized good demisional, I need the unique elements.  I wrote an admitted that it is a little messy method to do such a thing, but it works logically for me for the most part.  The table currently has 69 items, and at the present time, there are only two unique values.  I could just listed them but that would mean I have to roll updates whenever a new brand comes out.  So now, when I run my program it will remove about half of the table and decides that he doesn't have to obey logic more and keep the rest.   I compied the segment of code that is the problem and registered as a VI for your pursoual and I wired in a copy the avictive table so that you can see what I mean. The code works wonders for 35 early iterations of the loop, and then something goes wrong terriably.

I record from Excel in a collection of graphics, but when I "placed" in the circular he was totally out of table format / font I used, etc. So I need to know if there is a way to transfer the table for the flyer, maintaining all the elements.

  I've been putting together a manual intended to circumvent the process stretched having to go through and replace text and variable whenever the manual must be duplicated for a new client/build.

  To do this, I have compiled a book in MS Excel consisting of 15-20 sheets, each with a table of variables depending on the section of the manual. These can be filled in the responses of the client accordingly. Example:

  

  I then inserted datatags in the InDesign document, so that a mailing can be executed using one. Copy CSV spreadsheets excel and automatically fill the manual with the values, see below:

  

  My current problem is that in some tables, I have several bullet points which, in Excel, had to be expressed by inserting a ball, and then the text symbol using Alt + Enter to create a break line (so that I can have multiple lines of text in a cell).

  Unfortunately, when I run CSV2Tables to pre-populate each table with content from Excel, this break is interpreted by InDesign as a command that starts on a new line - which means that the lymphocytes which contained several lines are imported in InDesign as several lines of text in a line. (see below).

  

  My question is, is there any alternative to the use of Alt + Enter in Excel so that I can still have multiple lines of text in a cell, which can then be imported into InDesign as a line.

  OR

  Is there a way to change what InDesign picks up as a new symbol of the line - I looked at "Hidden characters" and looked around the internet but have not found a solution for the moment.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Remplacer replace by a kind of code of text inline for line breaks, then run find/replace after the merger to convert them into actual breaks.

  My first source - excel sheet.
  2nd source - oracle table.
  
  Creation of data servers, dsn(for excel), reversing everything done very well.
  When I try to display the data there is a problem.
  
  EXCEL - serial number column is displayed as 1.0,2.0,.3.0 etc. need 1,2,3,4,5...
  Oracle tables-> after that reverse it does not display the data types for the selected columns.
  
  I am not able to create a join and run.

  I've been using excel to place several tables in my InDesign CS5 document which will require the update on a regular basis. The tables are already formatted in excel, so I will place in InDesign with formatting and you will usually have to reduce proportionally the tables as soon as they are in InDesign CS5. When I'll update the links, it is important the content of the tables as part of current text with larger text and I am unable to "Insert the picture content" or "shrink content proportionally." Nobody knows how to solve this problem or know of another way to link excel with formatting tables and update without having to reformat the table (i.e. to resize the image and text) every time that happens an update? Thank you!!

  I need to update the style and format of a bunch of old forms that were made in Excel, to match our new style guide. The problem is that many forms understand formulas... What can I do to make these in InDesign? And they will always be there if I create a PDF to fill out on-line that users can fill it with Adobe Reader?

  InDesign cannot read and/or analyse Excel formulas. Excel puts the formula in a cell and adds last result, and which is read by InDesign to plain text. It is rather the opposite: to get a 'formula' in ID, you will need to fit in plain text in Excel (once again, see you in ID in plain text).

  Nothing to fear: Excel is very bad in the formatting of the text; ID, on the other hand, excels in the present.

  Table styles have absolutely nothing to do with it. They are for tables formatting , not for the calculations. Moreover, these Table Styles are integrated into IDS since the CS2 version - last is CS4.
