simple question re RD230 module for remote management

Hello

Just bought and installed Rd230. Installed win2008 R2 SP1 (manually... not with easystartup).

I read the for the management module user guide remote. Is superb! One thing... How to set up the MMR? (Address IP... etc). It is not in the BIOS... I don't see any prompt at startup to access a utility of config for IT... any help?

Thank you

M

I have a 5510 and will install the AIP10SP-K9 SSM module and wonder what is the gigabit port that comes on it? It's just for remote management?

    Thank you.

Yes, you are right with your hypothesis. It's the command & control-Port where assign you an IP address and you access your IPS with SSH and IDM. CETS events are communicated through this interface. So this port must be connected for example to your management VLAN.

  • Remote management of the E2500

I can't connect to the router remotely. I activated the remote for any IP management and HTTP (for now). Remote management port is by default 8080. Any ideas? I guess a simple oversight or configuration setting. I'm relatively new to the Linksys routers. Thank you - Greg

Hi, WilsonG. What type of Internet do you have? If PPPoE, the address may change from time to time, and remote management is not always accessible to the intended address. It also happens that remote management is blocked by the ISP. If this is the case, make sure you have the latest firmware on your router and change the ports for remote management. Please see this link.

    Hope the above helps.

  • RV042 - remote Managment

So I activated the remote management of the router. If I test with the external IP address and port number, it works from the INSIDE of the network, but testing from outside of the network, it does not work. I suppose by activating that I don't have to install an another other rules anywhere else, but I could be wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

Managing remotely over HTTP is no longer supported due to security problem. HTTPS is required for remote management with the latest official firmware bit.

  • Simple question... How do to add pictures on the body of my MAILS found 1000 results for how can I add photos to my Thunderbird emails

How can simple question - I add photos to my mail body. But instead of the answer - found 1000 results for how can I add photos to my Thunderbird emails. There are answers that don't apply at all to the question anyway. Why must it be so difficult to get a simple answer to a simple question?

Thunderbird is a bit like Microsoft, all the reasons as I dumped MS Live Mail.

First, a lot of help for Thunderbird refers to the menus that may not be visible. It would be useful to you and us if you have your menus and toolbars visible.

    http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.UK/13_Menus_in_Thunderbird.html

Then, open a window of writing. Activate the menu and operate.

Now that you see an option "Insert"?

If this isn't the case, you can assign composing in plain text, which does not support embedded images.

Tools | Account settings| {Select account} | Composition & addressing and ensure "Compose messages in HTML format" are checked. If it is not already checked, go back to writing a message. No better now?

Once you have the mode of composition HTML goes, you can use Insert | Image or various permutations of copy - paste and drag - move to the body of your message.

MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, beginning 2013) El Capitan 10.11.3, Simple question here: I can't open FinalCut Express (4, I believe). The wheel turns for hours. How can I install/uninstall and will I lose all my old films (for the most part stored on external hard drives). Thanks for your suggestions.

You will not lose anything, but the app if you uninstall. If you decide to uninstall use this app to make sure that all the other files which depends on FCE are also deleted however I can't give you any assurance as to whether you will be able to reinstall so that it works correctly. It is a software that has not been supported for almost 5 years and there are conflicting reports as to its compatibility with OS X 10.11. Can't I test it myself.

Maybe someone else will chime in with their own experiences.

  • Time to update the BIOS and firmware of remote management?

I'll put up a 'new' ThinkServer RD630 (2954A6U). It was purchased for a project that never happened, and we are now dry and reuse to replace an old Office Server. The current firmware versions are:

    • BIOS: 2.05
    • ME: 2.1.5.73
    • BMC 1.7
    • IPMI 2.0

Page 61 of the User Guide ThinkServer says, "update the BIOS on your server only if the new BIOS version specifically solves a problem you have. We don't recommend updates to the BIOS for servers that do not need. [...]"

As far as I know, we have no problems. The system starts fine and runs Windows Server 2012 well enough.

    HERE'S MY QUESTION:

Should I update the BIOS and firmware IMM (remote management) to the current version? Are there hidden problems, security issues or other concerns that it is worth?

Other indicators of initial configuration that you can share with a new admin would be much appreciated, too! Thank you.

With the help of the Lenovo Support, I was able to fix my problem where I couldn't get to the menu of the BIOS of the 630 RD (in F1) and all I saw was a cursor on the screen. I describe the procedure in detail here:

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/ThinkServer-rack-mounted/BIOS-settings-blank-with-cursor-after-BIOS-UPD...

Thank you to all those who commented above and especially to those who have sent me suggestions via PMs.

  • NAR restriction for remote access clients

    Hello

just a question how to limit access to users for some NAS servers remotely.

We have an AAA ACS2.6 servers and several 3640 based NAS server for remote user access. Users are gathered in a group to the ACS.

We have another group, called ISP. The user in this group can use the internet anywhere in the world, they must dial the local number of the given ISP NAS and all the NAS-you pass the authentication request to our CSA. So we can centrally manage direct RAS users and Internet users.

The problem is that a user to a certain group can use the other dialin facility since all dialin appemps will be authenticated on the same server.

How can I limit that an ISP group cannot use the SNS outside the company and that he can not numbering at our dedicated RAS server? And RAD regulars cannot use the internet (which is given to the users of the ISP)

I applied filters in the ACS on the group settings, but could find no ducuments how configure it exactly. Any help appreciated,

    Kind regards

    Balázs,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sure that it would be useful for others. Yes, browser is a problem for any management software ;-)

  • RV320 Cisco Remote management fails PCI compliance

Cisco RV320 (port 443) remote management not meet PCI, a major provider of PCI (Trustwave) compliance.

    Fault issues:

    1. Taken SSLv2 support (http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2005-2969)
    2. Methods HTTP Trace/track activated (http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2004-2320, http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2010-0386)
    3. HTTP Server overlapping Byte - Range Denial of Service (http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detail?vulnId=CVE-2011-3192)

    Other serious issues:

1 auto-Completion enabled for password fields

2 SSL certificates with a public key of less than 2 048 bits are more susceptible to man in the middle attacks (Yes, I can create a new certificate with > = 2048 bits, but the value default self-signed certificate must be at least 2048)

If you have warranty still valid for your RV320 device, I suggest you address these issues directly to the Small Business Support Center (HWC) through their customer service system. Because they are related to safety concerns AND the RV320 device is not on the list of EoL in the meantime, I hope that this could be addressed and fixed in future versions of firmwares for this device.

I'm afraid, nobody else on this forum could forward your question here on the forum that these options are not configurable (at least not officially) and must be set only at the level of the firmware. You must use the official channels to facilitate this correction.
