  • FileHistory on SimpleSave Backup

I used my SimpleSave drive for several years now.

But after I installed Windows 10 (64) it fills up very quickly.

Most of the drive is now filled with "FileHistory.

How can I get rid of this? I need my own files only which is documents and images.

    SAKUP

I do not recommend delete you what either, because I have no way of knowing what you have installed on your system.

But since you asked so nicely, I'll have to take a "guess."

My guess is that you have a history of Windows 10 on file. Historical files prefer a disc external to save libraries, office, Contacts, and Favorites. Is the large history files file?

Historical files Windows are accessible from Control Panel>file history. Here you can disable.

Next, create new files to make sure that SimpleSave is actually save your new files.

If SimpleSave does not work, you need not keep a history file.

If this isn't the case, then you must continue to use the file history.

If the history of the files is not enabled, then I have no way of knowing what are your particluar files. You could save elsewhere, then delete those external hard disk to see if it breaks anything.

BTW: I'm surprised to hear you SimpleSave working in 10 Windows because it was not compatible for others.

Hope that brilliantly answers your question.

  • Software HP SimpleSave does not load

Just bought a HP SimpleSave 1 TB drive. Plugged into my computer the first time, and the software came fine. I chose to not make a backup right then and exit the software.

Now, the software will not set up properly at all. When I attach it to the port USB of the Launcher comes up and then opens a window of HP SimpleSave, but this window is empty. Same thing happens when I try to run HPLauncher.exe from the virtual CD drive or HDSimpleSave.exe of the drive itself. There is no SimpleSave icon in my system tray.

    System details:

    Windows 7

Office ZT with AMD Phenom II X 4 945 processor and 8 GB of RAM

I would be grateful for any help or suggestion.

I now have the answer to this problem. I called the HP SimpleSave Support and the agent told me to plug in my USB port on my HP laptop. It worked this time; I think I tried before, but it worked well this time. I hardly believe it's as simple as that!

  • HP SimpleSSave: Remove all SimpleSave reader files and starting over?

I have a HP SimpleSave external drive. P/N HPBAAC3200ABK - 00, S/N WXCOA8962886, model number HPsd320a. I filed years ago and went to a larger external drive. All the info on this SimpleSave is on my new drive. I want to remove everything about SimpleSave and start all over again. Can you help or point me in the right direction? Thank you

It is ready for use after deleting the file.  You can format to suit any type of more modern file, if you wish.  Latest files work best in NTFS formatting, especially for large files, but FAT 32 is common, too.

    rdavs,

Gets the downloaded software package registered on your C drive?

    I suspect so.

Can you mount / map the drive?

Assuming that you can map the drive, and then browse it, simply copy the downloaded file install package more towards the upper level of the formatted disk.  Double click (or right click and install as administrator).  I think that the installer will put the software on the drive.

Truth is, I have this exact unit and it came with the software on the drive.  I have never used the software.  I just moved the SimpleSave s/w into a folder and left alone.  I use the disk for storage.  Nice unit.

HP SimpleSave backup software performs automatic incremental backups?

According to the manual page 1 ' backup automatically changes every time that the computer is idle for 5 minutes. This happens if the SS drive is attached and powered. • Software for the disc md1000h of HP SimpleSave external hard

    Hello

Due to some problems I had with double back-up on my hard drive, I decided to just format the hard drive and start on a table shaves.  However, I see the user guides on the support page for this product (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=4023091 & lc = on & cc = us & dlc = in).  Where can I access/download software?  Also, once that I have the software, what do I do with it?  Is it just a matter of unzip the contents of the file on the hard drive?

    Thank you in advance!

    Kevin

    Hello Smash,

I can tell you that it is something that HP is not easy for someone to find.

Download link for the SimpleSave software for your model.

EDIT: this link is no longer available, HP no longer provides the download.

Unzip the content in the external drive HP, NOT your computer.

The content contains an autorun.inf file that will allow the software to run when it is connected, if Windows is configured to allow autorun programs.

If she's not autorun, you can open the external hard drive and click on the exe file yourself.

There is a user manual in a folder of the zip file as Documentation that you can read. Look on page 6.

This should do it for you.

    It will be useful.

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

    I can offer the following:

    SimpleSave_HP_Software-BlackCat_1-2TB_V1-0-2-36

This is a copy of zip file of the original HP software from my archives for the readers of 1-2 t.

The software is no longer available at HP.

The name "BlackCat" simply indicates the name of an external drive from my network and aims to differentiate the software to archive original HP.

For your comfort and your peace of mind, you should always analyze all files uploaded with your best security software.  This file has been scanned (clean) with Avast Premium Security.

Place the file on your external drive and unzip.  All the documents and help files are present in their own files.

During this period, I have reorganized and cleaned my PC from time to time, but the backup still has everything that has ever been. I would like to own offshore data backup and start a new backup. But the drive has its own Installer, so I can't reformat. How can I throw the old data and start without breaking the application?

  • HP SimpleSave HD hpmd1000h: HPSimpleSave in Windows 10

I've been a successful user of the system external HD HP SimpleSave backup. After recently installing Windows 10 improvement of 8.1, I just discovered that the system does not work and seems to have been disabled on Windows 10 irreversably. He has been connected to a USB 3.0 connector but does not work in the location of USB 2.0. In the Task Manager it does not meet the selection to activate it. No content of the disk is visible and accessible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    @JohnDubyaH

These discs - and software on them--tend to fail after this long regardless of the operating system.  This is not say that connect setup Windows 10 do not have a negative impact on the reader / software - equipment is vintage and the software was never run on this OS tip.

You could try to find a system that is running an older operating system - say Windows 7 and see if you can retrieve / see the data on the disk again.

The words 'could try' must deliberately - this may or may not work.

Assuming that you can ever see the data on the disk, back up data immediately to another drive / NAS / something.

I am one of many who found out the hard way on the syndrome of "sudden death".

    MO,

    Welcome to the HP Forum!

I guess in this regard; Please bear with me.  I have used several of these discs over the years, but never the software that accompanies the equipment.

According to this SimpleSave c01824301 user manual , before unplugging the SimpleSave backup box, you are supposed to close the monitor in your taskbar.

    Page 5 States:

    • Before disconnecting your drive HP SimpleSave
    • exit right to the monitor HP SimpleSave HP SimpleSave
    • then click on exit.

This seems to mean that the monitor is a scheduled task and you can control it with the Task Scheduler.

Of course, if the indicator little blue box-in-box is still in your taskbar, you can simply disable the software in this way and then worry about how to find and kill it in Task Scheduler later.

  • SimpleSave 1 TB Drive Blue LED

    Hello

I have the SimpleSave 1 TB drive and working with VISTA 64-bit.

If the computer is proven, the drive blinks all the time with the blue LED.

It bothers me if I'm sitting on the desk. What kind of error messages if the flashing indicate?

    See the response of support...

Your computer can send signals to the drive when it is turned off. Try to disconnect the USB cable from the computer to see if the light still flashes. Additionally, make sure that you are not connect the player to a USB hub.

It is true. On another port, the led does not Flash. Looks like I can on certain ports, even the computer is turned off.
