Since Firefox 29 update, address bar displays strange characters

Since the 29 FF update, I get strange and graphic characters in the address instead of the actual text bar. I have a screenshot that shows, but don't see a way to fix it here.

Yes, this is the icon to subscribe RSS addon. Disable it solved the problem. I am including a screenshot just so that others can recognize the problem.

Short of downgrading, is anyway I can change these specific issues?

This problem may be caused by an extension that is not working properly.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

If this does not work in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.

    • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
    • Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

When I type anything in the address/awesome Firefox toolbar, it lists the suggested sites and displays only the icons of Web site on the left side, but no display text (cannot determine the suggested site displayed in the drop-down list, unless I tab to Web site icon). • Since I have no address bar, I can't type config in the address bar to activate the address bar.

New laptop. Downloaded Firefox and could not activate the address bar doesn't so no back arrows or hometown icon or research, etc.
Please do not suggest that I access the controls in the address bar. I do not have an address bar to access anything whatsoever.
I don't want to customize the address bar. I just want to be able to see and use the controls in each illustration to the getting started and help watch are here, as they were on my old laptop.

First of all, make sure that you are not in the mode "full screen" of Firefox. The F11 key toggles between the normal modes and full screen.

Second, you can activate the individual toolbars on and outside using either:

    • Right click on an empty area of the tab bar
    • Click the "+" button on the tab bar
    • Press the Alt key > menu view > toolbars

The address box is on the Navigation toolbar.

If the Navigation bar is displayed but the address box is missing, your bars may be damaged. You can use the 'Restore Default Set' button in the Customize dialog box to restore. Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars.

    A little luck?

  • Firefox takes the address bar in the search bar.

Every time I do a search on Google, I start typing, and all of a sudden, my text stops to appear in the search bar and begins to appear in the address bar. This also happens when I'm looking at YouTube, and when I try to copy a link in the 'Sharing' tab on a video, it automatically jumps to the address bar. Firefox seems to think that it is now Google, I guess? It does only on Web sites run by Google.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

The tabs can not be rearranged. Operations tab dragging with the mouse, but the remaining space and the tabs do more mix to make room. Arrow placement does not appear. By releasing, the tab appears to the vacant place that it comes.

Problem when Firefox updated to 49. Even on two different computers with Vista and Windows 7. If I disable tab Mix Plus, or Multiple Tab Handler, drag the tabs normally. (Both were working together before, for years).

I does no change in settings on computers option. I have not installed the new modules. He might have 49.0.1 when it first 'broken' and is always the same with 49.0.2.

I never had the shift + click and ctrl-click configured such as recommended; but I also tried and it did not help. (I put them for MTH to control, now, I have them set as recommended with TMP controlling selections).

  • My address bar disappeared. I don't have an arrow towards the front or the rear. I tried to update, but it did not help. Anyone know where he went? (I have Version 7 and Windows Vista, I think.)

I see more details, but I used to have normal Firefox with an address bar, and now I don't have. At the top of my page, I 'most visited' and a tab bar. Basically, I have "safe search". I'll have to do all of the URLS looking for them.

  • Address bar "I'm feeling lucky search" missing feature in firefox 4?

In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to type in the address bar and it would execute an "I'm feeling lucky search.
For example if I typed "firefox" in the address bar it would take me to www.mozilla.com. This feature seems to be missing in the latest version. Any ideas how to re-enable this function?

In Firefox 3.6, it uses Google search "Search by name" rather than "I'm Feeling Lucky." With innovation by the name search, it performs a search on Google and if there is a clear match he will take you on the site, otherwise, it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it searches only on Google, if you type something that is not recognized as a URL.

To get the behavior of Firefox 3.6 on Firefox 4, you must change a hidden preference.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. Locate the preference keyword. URL, double-click it and change its value on the link below

    http://www.Google.com/search?ie=UTF-8 & oe = UTF - 8 & SourceId = navclient & gfns = 1 & q =

If you prefer, you can also do this by installing traverse it by extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/browse-by-name

  • Why is the address bar covered or hidden?

My address bar displays only solid color bars; I do not see a URL I type it. If G = Green, Y = B = black, and gray now, it looks like this: GAËLLE GIROT YYYYYYYYY BATH YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. I wish I could erase the old URL and start typing a new one with minimum keystrokes, but cannot figure out how.

I have a second question, while we are there. My Adobe Flash only is not good enough for Firefox, until I have "let him" once the prompt appears. I can't understand how (tried and failed several times) to acquire or download an update of Adobe Flash version that meets Firefox. How is that done?

The colors reflect the actual characters being replaced by solid rectangles, so for regular sites, the text is gray except for the area, who is black, and green is used for the name of the company that operates sites that have a certificate Extended Validation SSL. • desertdave760 why doesn't the URL frequently disappears from the address bar?

Thus, for example, here, this page is not the address in the address bar. If I wanted to send the site to someone, I have to go to IE (God forbid) and retype the url there.

This happens for many but not all sites, I'm sure. He says now, search or enter the address

It's strange. "Search or enter the address" appears if you delete the current address, but if you click in the address bar and press the ESC key it should display immediately again (Esc cancels the change).

This text appears also with a few built-in Firefox pages, like the homepage and the new tab page. But for the 'real' web pages, you should see the address.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    Any difference?

Also, maybe it's not relevant to you, but sometimes users have a bookmark that opens a page in the sidebar to the left in the main part of the tab instead of. The address bar displays only the address of the main part of the tab. If your Firefox seems to have a split screen (left-right), that might be the problem.
