Since firefox updated Nov 7 - enter the web address - it 'go to sleep' until I touch the touchpad

I enter a web address and a few seconds the small circle by "Firefox" running with 'connection' - and 'transfer... '. "at the bottom left. Okay - fine so far. But then circle stops turning and nothing happens until I hit just the touch bar - then he continues. Only, this has happened in the last two days. Touch the bar seems to wake up the laptop.

  • Where can I enter a web address?

I have no address bar. What I can pull up is 9 most visited sites. The only way I can grab something in addition to my 9 most visited sites is close Mozilla and try again, when the original Mozilla search page appears. Then I can use the search line to find an address via Google. Very frustrating. How can I get the address bar in the rear, which is set to enter a web address directly, or even a Word?

    Hello

Go to the Menu bar (press F10 or Alt to the unhide) go to View > > toolbars and select the Navigation toolbar.

Or try to go to hell view > > toolbars > > Customize then find your Navigation bar if you find just drag and drop it where you want.

Also, you can try to go to your profile and remove or rename the localstore.rdf, maybe you need to view the hidden files and folders.

Be sure before you delete or rename the file localstore.rdf close Firefox

  • Firefox update prevents access to the NAS web page

Firefox is the likely cause of the web administration of a Buffalo Linkstation Live 1 TB network attached page being inaccessible storage device.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

is every attempt to open the NAS web administration page after that Firefox updated to level to 3.6.6

With some effort, this has been resolved. and it is the browser of the cause.

Test with configuration as a result of security changes made no difference to the outcome of the error reported. It took uninstalling internet security suite to expose Firefox as being the cause. The default settings have been the "use system settings" option in the tools/options/advanced/network Panel. I never had the opportunity to change something in this space, because I started using Firefox, and when I installed the Sep 09 NAS, access via FF using the ip_address was the norm.

However, when you attempt to connect using FF to the security suite 'not there' a proxy not responding error occurred, which was the point on the cause. The FF network Commission review, a manual selection of the proxy server and if no proxy for local connections was the required patch. He continued to work after security suite has been reinstalled. A jpg of this working configuration image is attached.

In the last 6 months FF suffered a number of updates. One of those - most likely 3.6.4 or 3.6.6 - changed something in FF mode of local network connection management. In which case the same ip addresses in the address bar previously authorized were no longer allowed - all without talking to the user in the update until the condition occurred in operations.

This is the second time a mozilla product did that for me, on the automatic update, and I'm upset that a good product may be contaminated by defects of design and testing in this way. Updates automatic for FF and TBird are off my calendar. If the effects of the end of a change are not complete and explained in detail - I don't use it. the pain of the errors that it is caused is considerable.

  • Since firefox 26 has been installed the text is blurry and shaking when I scroll

A few days of 25.1 Firefox updated to 26 and since then the all the text of the results I get when searching with Google blurs and shakes when I move the mouse on the result page. First of all, try to disable use of Firefox hardware acceleration of graphics. This works around compatibility problems that can occur when your software graphics driver is updated, replaced or cancelled.

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

It will take effect when you exit and then restart Firefox.

You can get a fresh installation of Firefox 26 program from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Before re-installing Firefox 26, could you make a backup of your settings file? You can just copy the entire folder somewhere for more security. I hope you won't need, but just in case.

To open the folder of the parameters (your Firefox profile folder), either:

    • Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

Click on the "View file" button (or for older versions of Firefox, maybe 'open containing folder') and Windows Explorer shows your current settings files. I recommend the backup at least the bookmarkbackups folder and much more if you can. You can exit Firefox and let it complete update files that are in use before copying.

Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 4.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • Made Firefox update, crashed now all the browsers on the laptop does not

Firefox did an update at 15:00 this afternoon. I was working in an Excel file and Firefox crashed, the window jammed when he says that he has been sending a crash report so I had to close this window. I couldn't restart Firefox, he said of Firefox is already running, when I clicked on "Close Firefox", I get an error message that I remember most, something is missing or is unavailable.

I tried to restart then thought etc I want to use IE to download a new version, it's when I found IE does not work either. It loads, but cannot connect. My internet works, I'm on a laptop backup now without any problems. So I downloaded the installer of Chrome for this laptop, copied to the laptop with no browsers work and tried to install it, it started, but when he tried to connect on the Chrome homepage he just barattes away and unable to connect.

Not sure what may happen, but since it's all browsers I think something in the area of internet configuration needs to be adjusted. Any ideas? I work from home on the Internet for 40 hours a week so needs to work for laptop. The one I use now will be for awhile, but I have to get others to market as soon as possible. Thanks for any help from anyone! O

The two laptops are equipped with Windows 7

Thank you, but I'm done to restore my system to a previous date that solved the problem.

  • Since Firefox updated to 23, Hotmail does not display correctly

Firefox itself up-to-date version 23 and since Hotmail does not appear correctly. I tried in IE and Chrome, and that's fine. I tried troubleshooting suggested, but nothing has worked.

You can try the basic steps like these in case of problems with web pages:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Hello, this is a phishing tactic that tries to trick you into installing malicious software, in order to not download or run this kind of stuff! updates are managed automatically by firefox, then do not download anything and if you want to download the full installer firefox always do it right from mozilla.org.

You can also run a full scan of your system with software security already in place and the various tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner & kaspersky security scan to make sure there isn't already a kind of active malware on your system that triggers these kinde of false alarms.

Fix Firefox problems caused by malicious software

  • After firefox update will not load any web site and continually loading shows. IE works fine.

After closing firefox, the program won't resart for a few minutes. systems says firefox is running and must be closed.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  • Since Firefox updated, it won't open my EPUB files more. What's wrong?

Whenever I click on my digital books in the .epub format, I get a dialog box asking me what program I want to use to open the file, or if I want to save. When I have Firefox to open the file, Firefox is to open another tab with another dialogue box and the process simply repeats and repeats and repeats. Firefox gets the EPUB reader?

  • New Tab button (+) is absent since Firefox updated. How can I get it back, please?

I am curious, as photos of the toolbar and tabs shows the button new tab (with the sign +) to the right of open tabs, because it always used to be. It's a nuisance to have to use Ctrl-T, whenever I want a new tab.

You can find the button new tab showing as a '+' on the tab bar.

You can open the window customize and drag the button new tab that indicates that a sign plus bar tabs on another toolbar and it will become a regular tools like the new button bar button tab you have in versions of Firefox 3.

If you can not find the new button tab then click the button 'Restore Default Set' in the window customize.

If you would like the button tab at the right end of the tab bar, then place a flexible space to the left of it.

  • BrowseBar2 update? (to enter the path of the directory in Bridge)

I use the very convenient extension of BrowseBar2 to the bridge, but it does not work with CS6. Does anyone know if there are plans to update? Or what it would take to do the upgrade? The source code is available?

I find it annoying having to manually go one level of directories at once again. I often open the directory required in Windows Explorer and loved being able to just copy / paste the path into Bridge.

    David Salahi

Actually, Paul Rigott responded in the Bridge Scripting forum that the extension is not necessary more because you can "just click on the path to the top and it changes so that you can edit or paste in".
