Since the upgrade to 29. Firefox snags with a beachball that goes for seconds. How can I stop the problem?

There are two updates very close together. I upgraded and now have 29,0. No matter if I'm going to an address, typing in an area, or waiting for a website to load, the "beach ball" Mac will turn for a few seconds before loading. I use the default theme. I have a minimum - (Xmarks and Trend micro), which have not been a problem before. Is there anything I can do besides turn off Add-ons?

I have the impression that its XMarks which is the cause... But the Trend Micro toolbar isn't right in my head. You can disable XMarks first, then if it's sunny, then Trend Micro is the problem and vice versa.

    Hello. Thanks for all the posts on this topic. I have the same problem, as described by the op. But, while I use Avast, I have NOT the add-on from Astromenda which has been mentioned. However, I have the SB installed toolbar, and it has been recently updated, 29/12. I suspect that it is the culprit, if this problem is in fact not caused by an update of Firefox (my tiles have recently been reset on new tabs, and I suspect that Firefox for this problem).

    I am ready to remove the toolbar from the SB, but prefer to keep it (Yes, I admit I'm stupid) If this annoying 'new window = 2 tabs with 'new tab' at the top' would just leave.

    Apart from the removal of the toolbar SB... does anyone have suggestions? I don't see that all recently added add-ons/extensions that I don't recognize, apart from the update of the toolbar of SB.

    Updated: 5 minutes after this announcement, I disabled the toolbar of SB and restarted Firefox. No change.
