  Thanks for your post.  This is an optional update, you can hide it if you wish.  First, go to the Windows Update site.  Everything you have to do is disable the update, you do not want to install, and then on the button download changes to a close button. After you click Close, you learned that the unselected updates will NOT be installed, then it gives you the ability to never be notified of this update.

  You can take a look at use themes to change the appearance of Firefox. There are characters and themes out there to match any style.

  There are also some good Add-ons that will change the appearance of the buttons as well.
