Since upgrading to FireFox 6, I can't start Firefox in Avast Sandbox - get the error "this application has failed to start because xul.dll not found." Firefox works well outside Avast Sandbox.

The error box has the right
Firefox.exe - Unable to locate component.
He suggests reinstalling might fix the problem, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox a number of times and no change.

problem is Firefox works outside the sandbox avast, but inside the sandbox, xul.dll file is not found

It is solved with these steps... some may be unnecessary
(1) uninstalled Firefox
(2) downloaded the latest version of FF (6.02) and installed
(3) open the Avast user interface > extra Protection (in Avast v6) > Sandbox > Expert settings (button) > Web browsers > (in maintenance) "remove content" (button)
(4) disconnected from Windows
(5) connected and Firefox started in the sandbox

It might be that the first 2 steps are not needed... but that's what I did and the problem was solved. As you can see in the screenshot, Firefox is virtualized successfully

  • Loads of Boot Up Error Messages: "CLR error: 80004005 ',"the program can't start because LPK.dll is missing on your computer.

I get a number of error messages when I try to start my Windows 7.  Initially, I just got a black screen or a screen frozen at the point of "Welcome".  I was unable to boot into safe mode and the only options were 'valuation' or 'normally', which none worked.  I was finally able to start in safe mode.  It is a VERY slow process, and once it finally loaded, I get 3 error messages.  It was noted that "the program cannot start because LPK.dll is missing on your computer.  I got the message "GfxUI has stopped working" as a "CLR error: 80004005".»  Once I click OK on all this, windows Explorer tries to restart and stop eventually.  I tried to find solutions, but it seems that I can't in the control panel to check the settings.  Although I can click on the Start button and I don't see the control panel option, it will not be open.  How to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated it's super frustrating!

    3. have you made a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

  • srvcli.dll, he said: "the program can't start because srvcli.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. and it happens with all of my programs, even when my computer comes on!

So what the _ I do im plus and ready to blow a gasket that is this stupid file?

    Hi koryrage,

    (a) when this issue has produced?

    (b) don't you make changes to your machine before the problem?

srvcli.dll linked statically to the following files:

    Msvcrt.dll
    ntdll.dll
    API-MS-Win-Core-LocalRegistry-L1-1-0.dll
    Rpcrt4.dll
    Kernel32.dll

This means that when srvcli.dll is loaded, the files above are automatically loaded too. If one of these files is damaged or missing, srvcli.dll will not be loaded.

Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file.

Follow the steps in the link and check if that helps.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

If the System File Checker tool does not resolve the issue, and the problem you are experiencing started occurring recently, you can use the System Restore tool. Using this tool, you can restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

The tool using System Restore may not necessarily help you determine the problem. The System Restore tool uses points of restore to return the system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time where you have not experienced the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    1. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    2. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    3. click on finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

    Access the link.
