Size of PDF file - 11.3 Vs 12.3 difference

Hello

I was wondering that my output, the PDF file size is different when I run against 11.3 and 12.3 (with same MRLS and same extract xml).

For an example, when I tried to generate a PDF file with 11.3, output file size is 69 KB, but 12.3 is 61 KB (file size only breaks down and there is no change in content). I'm worrying that Am I missing something in my output?

From 11.4, embedded font sizes are smaller for PostScript Type 1 fonts which are now output using a compact format.

  • How can I reduce the size of PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version) ms?

I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (free version), ScanSnap ix500 & MAC OS X.  I have many documents and statements I want to scan and would like to know how to reduce the size of the document to preserve the memory. I scanned a document, 1 page, converted to PDF format and save it to a folder on my computer.  The file size of the PDF file has been 371ko.  I can reduce the size without having to buy the standard Adobe Reader or Pro edition?

You can not. You need Acrobat for this kind of task.

  • Schedule an automated process to reduce the size of PDF files

I am trying to find a way to automate a process which would take place every night at a certain time. PDF files is saved by my colleagues in a certain folder for printing purposes. My job is to take these files and reduce their consumption of the web size. Currently, I have to do it manually, which is a bit of a problem because these files come very late in the night.

The optimal goal would put in place a process that allow to monitor a folder and automatically save any PDF placed in said file in a file size reduced. Using the Action Wizard in Acrobat XI, I can't find a way to set up to run automatically.

If anyone has any information on how to accomplish this task, I would be extremely grateful.

You may not (and are not allowed to) use Acrobat in this way. You will need to

  • Change a size of pdf file?

Hi - I am fairly new to Adobe, so please forgive my ignorance! I created pdf files in a batch of scanned documents, which I now by e-mail. I forgot to scan them as B & W and now PDFs are of color, they are too big to E-mail (28 MB). Is it possible that I can change to B & W or reduce the size of the file to an acceptable email size limit? Really appreciate all the help I got these out tonight... Thank you

    Hi working-MOM

If you use Acrobat X then

Choose "file > save as > optimized PDF...". «, as opposed to "file > save as > reduced size PDF...» ».

If you use Acrobat XI see the link below and scroll to reduce article size.

  • Reduction in size of pdf file?

I have several letters written by hand that have been sent to me in pdf files that I need to shrink in size to put in a photo book, 2-3 to a page.

Can someone help me?  Thank you!

    Kim in Durango

    Ok.

    It's actually the Acrobat forum.

That being said, you can get what you want by playing with the settings in the print dialog box.

Go to file > print > Page handling > scaling of the Page and choose "Multiple pages per sheet" or something to that effect in the drop-down list (sorry, I use a newer version than 8, so it may be slightly different in your version) and choose how you want to print on your page. He dimensionnera the up and down for you.

  • PDF file size

I have a HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z (network) that I use at home to scan to a PDF file, and I know exactly how to move the cursor from the 'Smaller' in 'best quality '.

However, the size of PDF files are far too large when the picture quality is acceptable, and if I move the cursor to reduce the size of the image would become unacceptable.  It is impossible to scan a legal document of more than a few readable pages without producing a volume of file too large for email.  I have to divide these scanned documents into pieces of 3-4 page.

A simple disclosure form HOA, to 220 DPI and the cursor in the middle of balance, a page produces a PDF 699ko.  I used the other scanners printer to work (different brands) to the same 200 DPI which translates documents very clear less than 100 K per page.

In my view, that there is something wrong with the algorithm of scan-to-PDF of HP.  The problem must be due to a qualified (or defective) software design.  That you need HP or third-party developer (and developer staff supervision) take this seriously - compare HP vs other scanners brand PDF files - and update the drivers from HP for this problem?

Thanks for the reply.  My problem was scanning and sending 10 or more pages of legal documents, that came out of the scanner to approximately 700 KB per page with the last parameters of previous compromise.  The 10-page document has been an unacceptable 7Mo.

However, after posting the problem I went on a process of trial and error throrough with 200 vs 300 dpi, 0 to 100% increments of cursor, and p.c. / color / gray.  I got an acceptable 200 KB per page by using the grayscale 200 dpi and weight 90% - 10% for smaller size.  I have my paper of 10 pages to an acceptable 2 MB.

But I have always problems with contracts of 30-50 page where each page must be initialled by four parties, scanning and return back several times.

    Kind regards.

How can I make the smaller pdf file size?

    Hi vickyb,.

Reducing the size of PDF file requires Acrobat (one way is by choosing File > save as > PDF of reduced size). If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

  • How can I automate the reduction in the size of a large batch of PDF files?

I have to deal with more 40 000 images PDF created with a high value of IPR.  The collection occupies 1.4 TBS of space.

We experimented with reduced file size and PDF files that are less than 10% of their original size.

    We use Acrobat Pro XI.

Please also describe if amethod exists so that this transformation performed in the cloud.

    Thanks in advance

    Jack Dunn

There is a Wizard of Action in Acrobat Pro who can multiple lots

files in the same way, but from my experience (and the own words of Adobe) is

not suitable for process files a lot. You should look for

third-party solutions for that. In addition, it is not available as a cloud

service and cannot be fully automated (that is to say you need to trigger manually).

  • Reduce the size of the file

    SIZE LARGE PDF FILES.

I have a contact who uses Adobe Acrobat with an Imac and a Mac AirBook where via the ' Save as. / Preview ' option gives a choice of "reduce the size of the file.

Using a PC and Acrobat DC, can reduce a large pdf file that you received without losing quality. I can't find this option on my PC, maybe it's something just for Apple computers?

    Thank you

The full version of Acrobat has that, but the free software Acrobat Reader does not work.

Yes. Mac has its own pdf generator that you wouldn't have on your Windows machine.

  • Y at - it a maximum size of practical files that Acrobat can handle?

I tried to do a file-> open a 81 MB HTML file in acrobat to convert it to PDF format and the file-> open ran for hours and then Acrobat finally generated an exception request error and crashed.

It's not what I asked. I don't need to know what size a pdf file that can be created. And the wire that you posted the link says the maximum 10 GB. Acrobat supposedly has the ability to convert a HTML file to a PDF file. I need to know what is the biggest size HTML file Acrobat to open for the purposes of conversion to PDF? As I said, I tried to get Acrobat to open a 81 MB HTML file, for purposes of conversion to a PDF file (I had not yet started the conversion process I was just trying to do a file-> open a HTML file), and after sitting there trying for a few hours, Acrobat finally crashed. So, I need to know how do I get Acrobat to convert this HTML file to a PDF file... or maybe it is simply unable to do so.

  • Reduce volume of PDF file?

I'm almost embarrassed this issue on the ground that I reduced the size of PDF files well before without problem, but this one intrigued.

    Location:

I was sent a PDF file and I have no access to the original files. Size 254 x 190mm, 14 pages = the file size of 8 MB. I'm fairly certain that it was created in Powerpoint with great all of the images, texts, and gradients. Use of space audit shows "Flow content" @ 91.63%.

I need to reduce the size of the file to the host on a Web site.

    What I've tried so far:

    1. PDF in Acrobat 9 Pro (Mac) optimizer. Downsample to 98 ppi color images, no fonts in the file, [low resolution] transparency, throw [checked everything] objects, ignore the user data [checked] and clean [checked].

Result: size of the same file or similar

2 register under option, export as PDF / X and print to PDF under OS / X.

Result: size of the same file or similar

3 InDesign editing document import PDF pages and create new images of the size / maximum of the smaller PDF.

    Result: larger file size

My next plan is to open each page in Illustrator and try to optimize individually but before I embark on this journey, I wonder if anyone has a quick fix I should try first.

Any ideas? I would be very grateful for the suggestions.

The excessive content stream are objects such as vector data that cannot be sous-echantillonnees. The best approach may be to convert from jpeg to pdf, if you reaally need smaller files.

    See you soon,.

  • PDF files download via imap with the incorrect file size and is considered to be "corrupted".

    Hello

I have a computer that is using thunderbird for imap emails. Any time I try to view a pdf, the open used attachment attachment and is reported as damaged. I downloaded a PDF directly from godaddy (mail host) and I can view the file properly. I also noticed that the file I tested was 105K when shown on the godaddy webmail but it was only 103K when appearing as an attachment under thunderbird. I also forwarded the email to myself since the webmail and when I open the email of forwareded, the size of the file is correct and the pdf file now opens. I would like to be able to open PDF files with thunderbird without having to send them to myself since the webmail. Are there settings I could change so that PDF files will be correct the first time?

    Thank you

Try this: open Tools/Options/Advanced/general/Config. Editor, double-click on the mail.server.default.fetch_by_chunks preference to change its value from true to false, close the Config. Editor, OK, restart TB and see if you still have problems to open the attachments.

  • How do I reduce/compress size of the PDF file of the scanned document - HP Photosmart Premium

I scanned a 12 page document (with graphics very little) black and white at 150 dpi. He was still 1.68 mb. At this low dpi the degraded reviewed document - low quality. I've seen high-quality grayscale pdf whose size is very low. When I scanned it this same document in color at 300 dpi it was a wopping 8 mb, but at least the document is readable. Any suggestions on how to get a 12 page document less than 1 MB with a decent quality?

Do not change anything with resolution.

After you select Scan to PDF, click on the Advanced Option. Here, in the new window that opens at the top you can see as selected PDF. Next to the 'Options' button will be there. Click it and a cursor will appear. It will be at its maximum. If you need to move the cursor to a minimum or more like that and click OK, try parsing.

This will reduce the size of the file.

  • How to reduce the size of the PDF file on scanned on my PMX922 docs

I deal with a lot of documents, and I find that when I scan the docs on my MX922 the size of the PDF file is MUCH larger that the size of the original PDF file. That's what I see (on a document page 2):

    (Received) original size: 11 k

Default scan (Quick Menu): 1061 k

With compression high (Quick Menu): 116 k

The Panel of the printer (res 150): 209 k

    Windows scanning app (150 res): 1495 k

Scanning from the Quick Menu with high Compression seems to be the best, but it still somewhat adds to the file size. It's a big problem so I dal with many GREAT docs. Several times the size of the file increase prevents me from being able to send files. Is there anything else I can do? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi 1wwjdbro,

We can set the PDF to HIGH compression option in the utility of digitization of IJ and also select the image digitized transfer compression to reduce the file size of the PDF file. To do this, please follow these steps:

    1. open the utility of scanning IJ.

    2. in the Scan from Canon IJ utility window that opens, click SETTINGS... at the bottom right of the window. The settings dialog box is displayed.

    3. click on the SCAN of DOCUMENT option in the left pane of the window.

4 in the right pane window, look for the box to COMPRESS SCANNED IMAGES to be TRANSFERRED in the Scan Options section and check it.

    5. then, in the SAVE the SETTINGS section, find the FORMAT of DATA field and ensure that PDF or PDF (multi-page) is selected, and then click the SETTINGS button to the right of the field.

    6. in the window that opens, find the COMPRESSION PDF section, then select TOP from the drop-down list. Click OK to close the window. You will be taken back to the SETTINGS window.

    7. once all settings have been selected in the SETUP window, click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save the changes. The IJ Scan Utility main screen is displayed.

    8. click the DOCUMENT button. Housing starts scanning. Click CANCEL to cancel the scan if necessary. The scanned images are saved to the location of the selected folder previously specified in the SETTINGS... window.

    I hope this helps!
