Size of ram ATI 2600 on Satellite A200 - 1 M 8 on Vista

A200 - 1 M 8 features say that ATI2600 video card has a dedicated 256 MB of ram (DDR2 or DDR3) and can go up to 1 GB by sharing ram of the primary computer (2 GB installed)
need to know how I can change the size of the video ram on * Vista * OS.
Thanks in advance

Hi guy,

Or the other
You * should * be able to change it in the bios and if not in the BIOS then your machine changes depending on the amount of RAM you install in your Satellite. The more RAM you install VRAM shared more you will get. She's.

OR

Otherwise there is no chance to change the size of the RAM.

Welcomes :)

  • Can I use the ATI on my Satellite A200 driver?

    Hello all, dear Toshiba

I want to update the driver for the graphics card ATI Radeon HD 2600 in my Satellite A200-PQ notebook, I'm having some problems with effecs Nik HDR pro Photoshop 4.0.

However the driver I find here, it's 2008, the one I have already.
ATI offers a newer driver but explicitly do not recommend it for Toshiba laptops.

So, can someone tell me if there is no serious problem with the last - or at least one driver more recent-of ATI on my laptop?

    Help is greatly appreciated

    Nissrine

    Hi Libertion

The point is that these ATI drivers don t support protection against overheating.
Drivers Toshiba support GPU overheating protection and control the GPU heat dissipation.

If you want you can install the ATI driver but the use of these drivers is at your own risk.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 H 2 with Vista does not work after restoring

    How-dee!

    I have a laptop Satellite A200 - 1 H 2 with a Windows Vista Home System.
Computer was never connected with the Internet and I use it only for the doc write, play music and watch movies. It worked fine up until yesterday.

After turning on, there was a massage "c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" corrupt (spleen? Sorry, I don't remember).

So, I used the product Toshiba Recovery DVD and after reinstalling system reboot. And now I have a "Startup Repair" massage, which is:
"Windows cannot repair this computer automatically" and below:
"If you have recently attached a device to this computer, such as a camera or portable music player, remove it and then restart the computer. If you continue to see this massage, contact... blah, blah, blah. .... Click Finish to exit and turn off your computer.

It's weird cos I have no device connected to my computer and it was during my recovery system.

After pressing on "discovers the diagnostic and repair details" another pop-up window shows and he says, that all test "completed successfully" (the last is "Control of State Setup") and who
    "Root cause found.
    --------------------------
Failure so that the Setup program is underway"

What should I do now? I don't have any bootable Windows Vista DVD.

    Please heeeeelp!

PS. Sorry for my poor English :)

That s odd and I assume that the laptop would be correctly after reinstalling the Toshiba Recovery disk
However, maybe that something was wrong during the first attempt

Try using the recovery again disk and try reinstalling this cell second time

    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite A200: Question about the Windows Vista serial key

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 and I doubt, in everest, I can see the key of Windows Vista, but it's different to the Windows key in the tile to the bottom of the laptop.
I change anything in the laptop because I bought, I have use once the recovery cd, but I have not a pirate key or something like that.

    Why this different key?

I agree with the user above.
The serial key you will find at the bottom of the device is not similar to the serial key that can be read using a few 3rd party applications!

But you don t need such series on your Toshiba laptop key.
The restore CD contains an image of Toshiba which is already activated!

  • Satellite A200-1CR: can I install Vista using my Vista DVD installations?

    Hello

I would like to get some answers to my questions...

I have the satellite A200-1CR (PSAE0) and I want to install vista on my own... not with the recovery DVD but I have some serious questions...

    (1) may I have problems during the installation... (Drivers SATA, etc.), problems of BIOS or Toshiba has no restrictions?

    (2) what problem if I erase the secret (winre) partition and what is its purpose?

    (3) if I do a clean install with my DVD with my vista... If I want in a future close that I can use the recovery DVDs I got it or not?

    (4) to the drivers section for my laptop for each part has 5,6,7 or 8 drivers for win vista... which is good, or it's all the same?

    (5) in general, what do you propose? Are there reasons why not to do my format? I did a large number of formats in desktop, but never in the notebooks.

Sorry if you tired with my questions and sometimes my bad English...
    Thank you in advance...

    Why not.

    As to the question;

    (1) possibly the Vista operating system does not recognize the HARD drive during the installation of the OS. In this case you must install storage Intel Matrix (Robson package) Manager first! It of a driver SATA and can be found on the Toshiba or Intel driver page.

    (2) Windows recovery environment (WinRE) is placed on the hidden partition and it of necessary to restore a damaged operating system.
The Vista operating system automatically creates the hidden partition and Windows re installing the OS.

    (3) Yes, you can use the Toshiba Recovery CD. But it erases the entire HARD drive always.

    (4) take a newer version

    (5) generally I put t see any reasons to get in shape. The preinstalled Vista operating system has been configured and all the tools of Toshiba, drivers and additional software should work very well.
I don't recommend a new format if the operating system is working well.

    Good bye

  • ATI drivers for Satellite A200 - 1 M 8 on XP

-ATI driver I downloaded from the support site works well, be aware though if I can update on the ATI web site or this card a special driver developed by ATI and Toshiba?
(can't seam to find anywhere tecniques for this computer...)

-dose anyone know how to change the size of the Vram ATI using the map, the default size is 512 MB

    Hi mate,

    1. you must use the original toshiba drivers since they were written explicitly for this computer (yes they are special), BUT you can use also drivers from these sites:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
    http://www.OmegaDrivers.NET/

2 Unfortunately it s NOT editable because the amount of VIDEO memory is defined by the BIOS and users cannot change it.

    See you soon

  • What version of new Toshiba driver ATI Catalyst for Satellite A200-17O Vista?

The pre-installed and also last display driver download is not up-to-date.
    The display driver version: 8.383.1.1 - 070621 a-048565C

ATI release every month new Catalyst drivers, with improved performance and more features... this month release ATI version 7.9!

For example: I can't play the game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (demo) - this game out with pilot error messages display... (ATI out a fix, but not for mobility HD2400/HD2600 parts!)

When finally release new Toshiba display drivers?

    (Sorry for my English) ;-)

    Hello

I don't know when they are going to be out, but I can give you a good address, which is a great resource for the latest ATI/Nvidia drivers available and they are also working on mobile platforms:
    http://www.OmegaDrivers.NET/

Just try to go out and check if they work for you. :)

Would appreciate feedback if you have achieved some success.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAE6) crashes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

    Hello

I recently had a few frequent freezes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition, I think it's maybe the video card (ATI HD2600 mobility). I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Toshiba site, but it continues to, sometimes, when I'm playing games, the screen blinks for 5 seconds or more and then would become black, completely erased, but the background sound and everything still works well and I am able to shut down the PC by pressing the power button once and then restart it normally.

It's a minor problem, the major problem is the freezing point, it freezes completely without warning, but oddly enough, he freeze by practicing a game! But freezes on normal operations (internet, office, etc.). I did the tests, tests of HARD drive memory, all in good health, and worse, on the Windows Event Viewer could not detect any problem, simply says 'unexpected system shutdown.

    I'd appreciate help please.

    Thank you

Hi I do not know if this will help, but you've got service pack 1 installed on your laptop, as when I installed it on my desktop the first time it caused blue screen errors and gave me a lot of problems, including the error messages that seemed to come with applications, I opened and a boring IQRL driver equal or less than but could not work why and then ultimately , I had so many problems that I had to completely reformat my office and I removed my scanner XP and webcam (both had vista drivers) and when I reinstalled service pack 1, it was beautiful, if by any chance do you have anything attached to your XP laptop and vista drivers as these seemed to be what was causing my errors.

Also a question about your graphic card drivers, I have the same laptop as you and was looking for updates to the graphics driver and couldn't find them anywhere on the site, where did you find yours? I use Vista Home Premium 32 bit, my model number is A200-28 p (PSAE6) and I would like to know if there is a new graphics card driver but can not find on the basis of knowledge, so the fact you have updated your would be could you point a new user in the right direction :-)

    Thank you

  • Satellite A200 - 18 m take the Vista 64-bit?

    Hello

does anyone know if my A200 - 18 m will have 64 bit vista... Thought get 4 GB of ram, but want all reconised. Help?

    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/JSP/productPage.do?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=132400

You should be able to install the Windows Vista 64-bit on this laptop.
    But there is another problem.

Is that Toshiba does not support drivers 64 bit Vista at the moment and that is why you won't find any Toshiba 64-bit drivers for your system.

In this case, you will need to use the drivers from sites of single chip s manufacturer.

  • Satellite A200: Where to get the Vista recovery CD

I boght the laptop and it came with Windows Vista professional.
But it got a Virus. Thanks to the Norton which came with it and I had to do a system restore.

And the reovery disc came with XP. I have the key for Vista on the bottom of my laptop but I don't know how to get another copy of Vista professional for the A200 to use...

    Can someone help with that...

Very strange that s why you received the Toshiba XP CD recovery and not the Vista recovery CD?  :|

Generally, if the laptop has been pre-installed with Vista then you should get the recovery CD Toshiba with Vista OS.

In case you I would contact the ASP in your country to get the Vista recovery CD

  • Satellite A200 27Z CD/DVD drivers Vista need help!

Hi all. I've only had my A200 since a few days now, I downloaded and installed all the updates of Toshiba and Microsoft including SP1. My CD/DVD drive has been shown in the Panel right after that I installed SP1.

The drive worked before and after the installation of SP1. But today for some reason it is not there. When I checked in the device manager says Windows can not the drivers for it, because they may be missing or currupt (code 39).

Can someone tell me please how to fix this problem without having to perform a system restore? I checked Toshiba site and can't seem to find the drivers.

Any help would be welcome. Thank you.

Here's a possible solution, that works very well for most:

Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.

Then start the registry (regedit) and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After this restart your laptop and Vista will be to reinstall the next time. Normally it works then.
