Size of the hard disk on the Pavilion 873n

Hello

I would like to know what is the maximum. the size of the hard drive for a Pavilion 873n, Pentium 4, XP SP1 (to start) running.  The current hard drive is 120 GB and has errors and bad sectors.  I would like to replace it with a drive hard at least 500 GB and after recovery, upgrading to SP3.  I have the recovery disks.  He will manage this old computer?  Thank you.

  • Maximum size in the pavilion 1325sa g6 spare hard drive

I have a Pavilion laptop g6 1325 her, bought new in 2012, and I was wondering if it would be possible to install a hard drive of 1 TB or 2 TB of replacement in this model. The user manual gives 750 GB as the larger size, but because the hard disks have to expand in recent years, since the manual was published, I was wondering if it is possible?

    Hello

You can permanently install a 1 TB drive (maybe liked it, but I never installed a 1 TB HARD drive in a model similar to yours).

An example would be the HARD drive on the following link.

  • Pavilion 13-a113cl: the upgrade of the hard disk on a Pavilion 13 x 360 (13-a113cl) to an SSD

I have an old 13-Pavilion x 360 with a 1 TB hard drive 5 400 rpm in it and wanted to know if I could pass it to an SSD. If so are there requirements the SSD must meet (such as under a certain storage capacity) and is there hardware and/or software addition that I would need to do this?

Hi @devon-w! Yes, you can make your laptop with a SSD if you want. Once you get it, you can decide whether or not to perform a new installation of the operating system, or you can try to clone the current operating system installed with some cloning software. As far as I know, there is no limit on the size of the SSD, but I might suggest to keep your drive HARD current as an external storage location secondary data (movies, music, etc.), as long as it is not a failure of course. I hope this helps and good luck!

  • Increase the size of virtual hard disk to a virtual computer with snapshots

Is it possible to increase the size of a virtual hard disk on a virtual machine that has snapshots on this subject?  I can use VMware converter to increase the size of the disk, but who commits snapshots during the conversion-

    Thank you

As everybody said that it is not a good idea to increase the space for a VM with a snapshot.   The snapshot files are all related originally vmdk and when you change this vmdk he breaks the link.

A particular reason that you cannot commit the snapshot before adding the space.

  • Pavilion p100dx: need to HARD disk for my pavilion p100dx configuration

    Hello team,

Recently my hard drive of the laptop broke and now I need to replace my hard drive P100DX Pavilion.

To do this, I want to know the configuration of HARD disk as

    1. 2.5 or 3.5
    2. What is SATA or SATA-no?
    3. SATA is compatible for it?
    4. What is the size of the HARD drive that needs to be? -height, length and width.
    5. Seagate HARD drive would be compatible.
    6. pointers for the HARD drive to buy.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    It's a laptop HP Pavilion 15-p100dx ?

    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c04463224

    If Yes, then

    1. it uses standard 2.5 "HDD.

    2. it is a SATA HDD,

3 SATA III (or 3) and SATA II (or 2) is compatible.

    4. all standard HDD laptops would use the same width and length, thickness (hright) can be varry slightly, but your laptop supports 7 mm or 9.5 mm. Better use 9.5 mm because you don't need a frame fill to increase his height.

    5. Yes, HP doesn't produce HARD drives for laptops, it uses Seagate, Toshiba and a few other brands.

    6. you can buy in any computer store BestBuy or Amazon, Newegg...

    Kind regards.

I have the Vista home premium (32 bit) operating system. The computer would not start.

I went through the system restore & recovery system to boot without success, so I removed the hard drive and replaced by a supplement that I had installed as extra storage.

I loaded the first two recovery and system recovery discs introduced. He did not get the second drive in.

I am arrived at the recovery on the monitor screen, but got this error massage: "Abnormal termination of the Program:X:\windows\system32\restore7.exe program."

I am now at a loss over how to proceed then. Any ideas?

I installed & uninstalled both hard drives and found that I could not a response to everything with the new hard drive; so I put the old, released the non-functional DVD disc and replaced by the new DVD player, and miraculously, the computer is now found. At some point, I'll add in the second hard drive, but I'll do some research first all the problems that I meet. Thank you very much for your halp

  • The size of the Pavilion HP8565C battery on the motherboard

I would like to know the number of the stack, which is located on the motherboard of my Pavilion HP8565C desktop computer...

The part number of battery for most desktop computers is CR2032. However, most of the manufacturers do not, list in their online form, the exact type and model of battery required. Therefore, when you locate the battery, note information on the battery (voltage, chemistry, packaging and wiring part number). If possible, remove the battery and take it with you to buy a new spare battery. Try the target (electronics or jewelry), Wal-mart (jewelry or electronic), Radio Shack or a battery specialty store.

  • No HARD disk detected desktop Pavilion 500 PC series

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 500 PC series

    Serial No.:

    Prod #: H5Q30AA #ABA

    Model #: 500-016

When I start the PC I get the error "No Boot Disk Found".  Sometimes, I get the 'start Recovery', but then the computer system hangs indefinitely.

How can I order a new HARD drive or recovery discs so that I can burn a new image on an existing (new) HDD?

I tried to call support, but they wanted $$ just to troubleshoot the problem.

I'm pretty savy to replace the drive or burn a new computer image.  Can someone tell me how I can order the necessary drive or the discs?

    Thank you

    Jim

    Thank you.

I was able to order the recovery disks.  It's a shame phone support staff comes to tell me this at the beginning.

I am considering this case "closed".

    Thank you

  • Limit size of external hard drive from HP Pavilion dv6000?

    Hello

We have a HP Pavilion dv6871us.  We are under Windows Vista 32-bit.  I have 2 external hard drives that I connect via the USB ports.  1 is 40 GB and reads without problems.  The other is 320 GB and is recognised as a mass storage device.  Any tips?  Is there a size limit?

    Thank you

Thanks for your help.  In fact, I took apart and put back together.  There must be a bad connection.  It works fine now.  Thanks again for your interest and try to help out.  Best regards, DMH

  • Pavilion g7: disc error hard disk 1 (3F1) pavilion g7

I have a hard drive error, and he says to run the system diagnostics hard drive test. The area code is disc 1 (3F1)

It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

  • Pavilion p6310y: WD10EZEX hard drive is compatible for the Pavilion p6310y?

    Hello

I'm looking for a replacement of the hard disk of my Pavilion p6310y. I found a hard disk WD10EZEX on Amazon. It has the same features as the WD10EADS came with the pc when I bought it. But with some better features. The WD10EZEX is compatible?

Hi, the active drive WD10EADS is a HARD SATA 2.0, while you are looking in WD10EZEX is a SATA 3.0. However, this should not be a problem since the SATA standard is backward compatible and a SATA 3.0 drive should work on a SATA 2.0 port. The difference in the size of the buffer and the ROTATION speed should not be a problem too, so you should be able to use a WD10EZEX in your system. Be sure to do a good backup of all your data on an external HARD drive before you start to replace your HARD drive. Good luck.

One last question, I replace the hard drive (160G) in my old Pavilion a800n and wonder what would be the size (well at least 500G) max. Guess I could partition if necessary...

Win. XP (32 bit), Phoenix BIOS, LTD. 3.11, 09/02/2004.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Sorry, based on the following specifications, I would not be to HARD disk. If you need more space for data/files, buy an external HARD drive.
