  Now that I had to get out the old version of Skype to this new crap. I am no longer able to make what was the purpose of the Skypes for... VIDEO CALLS! Whenever I try to start a video call my Skype immediately crashes and closes. However, in versions previous it was never a problem. So why should it be a problem now? I use Windows 7 Ultimate, was using the same machine for the past 3 years without any problems with the webcam until this new update.   I had this problem since the free update of Windows 10. Whenever I try to connect to Skype (7.7 or 7.8, I tried both) it crashes immediately. This happened before when I had the same version of Skype on Windows 7, so I need help finding this. There is a known problem which mentions ourdated drivers, but I've updated my video and audio drivers after the upgrade, that I missed? in any case...

  Well, I ended up fixing the issue myself and updated to the latest version of Skype. Here's what I did:

  1. I noticed that reports of incidents mentioned, Asus Virtual Camera, so I uninstalled (most likely culprit).
  2. A run the File Checker system via the command prompt (with administrator privileges): cmd-> sfc/scannow
  3. A ran chkdsk to check the C: drive to find errors. C: /-> properties-> tools-> of error checking
  4. Restarted my computer and then 7.12 Skype for connected desktop PC and ran without crashing!

  Given that my problem has been solved I am that mark it as resolved.

• Skype 7.17 crash

  Hi everyone, recently I received a call from a friend and somehow, my first portable Skype AND crashed. Everything froze with the exception of my mouse and I could not click anything. Only option was to force the closure downwards. (CTRL + ALT + DELETE does not work too.) Whenever I try to run Skype, it would be just a blank screen and it would break my Skype and laptop. I've been using Skype during the last months and nothing came last time. My latest version of Skype is 7.17.104.

  DxDiag has crashed.

  DxDiag previously: crashed in DirectShow (step 1). Re-run DxDiag with the command line parameter 'dontskip' or choose to not to ignore when you are prompted to collect information could result in DxDiag getting this information

  Have you recently installed any new codecs or DirectShow filters?

  Also, try to uninstall CyberLink YouCam.

• HTC hd7 Skype app to crash

  So, I had a problem with VoIP applications in general, but I want to get this work at least. About a month or two before, I open the Skype application and it crashed about 30 seconds later, then I restarted, same thing, so I just didn't use it for a period of time see if maybe reboot it fix it, it didn't so I reinstalled it, still no dice. So I uninstalled for good and regularly checked the app description to see if they have released an update to fix the crash, as verified the user comments to see if anyone else has reported crash, a few people have said a crash at startup, but they have not yet released an update as far as I know I had after I got 7.5 already installed it, I changed only one parameter of system, and it was not before crashing, so I know I have not done something to make this happen. I use a HTC T8788, im quite lost at this point since no one else has reported this outcome (i googled it) so it would be appreciated if someone knows how to fix this problem, thanks.

  I'm happy to report that I found the fix for this on my own. After further investigation, I confirmed that it was a problem with someone, I had to manually remove half of my contacts one by one and check that if Skype has worked after deleting all of them until he did, after finding the faulty contact, I went to people.live.com and restored all the contacts that I deleted not to mention the one causing a crash. I hope this helps someone of another encounter this problem.

• Skype Windows 8 crash with error LeAPC_INDEX_MISMATCHErreur

  Hi people.

  I recently got a laptop DELL XPS which is installed with Windows 7 in the factory, but which has been upgraded (?) to Windows 8 at the time wherever I got it. I had some problems with Skype, as well as with the DELL Webcam Central software since I have the laptop. I was able to resolve most of them (with the help of excellent advice on forums like this one), but I am the last question and have not yet been able to solve.

  Whenever I try to use Skype from the tile on the start screen, I'm able to get in the app, but if I try to make a video call, or if I try to change the settings (e.g. to select "Integrated Webcam" instead of the default camera"), it crashes my computer. I get a blue screen with an error message: LeAPC_INDEX_MISMATCHErreur.

  Moreover, when I make a video call, the person I call does not appear to receive the call. To me, it seems that it's just rings and rings with no answer, but for them, it seems that I am not called. Finally, the computer crashes and I get the blue screen of death. Or if I try to end the video call, or turn off the webcam in the Skype Windows 8 app, it blocks again the computer.

  I have no problem using the desktop version of Skype - which works very well. Of course, I can continue to use the desktop version, but if possible I'd like to solve this problem. Any advice anyone?

  Good news! Everything seems to work again. I reinstalled the driver Windows 7 for Dell integrated Webcam, as suggested by Tamim. Initially, it didn't work, but when I rebooted a second time, everything - the webcam, Skype for Windows 8 and office and the Webcam central software worked.
  
  The bad news is that I will not generate a log file for you at this point (I don't think I'll be able to recreate the original problem with Skype for Windows 8). But if the problem persists, I'll do it and post again.

• Application Skype compatibility programs crashing

  Windows Skype closing guard.  I get a diagnostic box that resembles its scanning something and then it closes completely.  I have reinstalled twice.  I've updated to the latest version and none of these things worked.  Is anyone else having issues?

  Have you tried to load a new version of Skype and see if that fixes the problem?

  Remove the folder for "Skype".

  After the upgrade to version 4.3, Skype crashes after the connection probably loading the message history.
