Skype crashes after update, windows 7 64 bit

Hello

How to fix something that's not broken. New Skype crashes whenever I am trying to make a call. It is so bad that it freezes on the entire system. I can't 'kill' the application by ctrl + alt + del, only solution to restart the system. I Googled, tried a few solutions, as little different installation versions and turned off auto-updates to date, but nothing helped.

I'm really mad, a lot of work important contacts are there, and I'm forced to use it on a small screen of my iPhone.

I have

Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, as two or three months

Avast antivirus 2015

Enough * beep * fast machine with God knows how many processors, 16 GB ram, great drive hard quick flash

Please, I need a working Skype, this update is a stupid idea.

OK, so, here is what I did (spoiler, video calls work once again):

-Updated drivers Nvidia (really doubt it hit anything, Skype broke again)

-Is back to the old version of Skype (does not work)

-Removed stuff from a list of the programms, loading at startup (Avast could not be removed so...)

-Uninstalled Avast.

It worked.

So I guess it could be reduced to Avast free Antivirus. And by the way, Skype has become a piece of shit really software that requires a magic set of conditions to work properly. I will be looking forward to an alternative to Skype. Thanks for all the Seraph, I mark a last as an accepted solution. Although an accepted solution would make decent software, as it used to be a few versions ago.

So, I decided to get Skype today so I could discuss with my friends. I launched the Skype app first, and it says that the connection failed. So I decided to get the desktop version of Skype. I downloaded, installed and it worked fine. I registered and signed with success, when all of a sudden it appears with an error message Skype has stopped working and windows is checking for a solution. It is then implemented with windows can not find a solution. I thought I'd better try again, so I did and it happened again. I have decided to re - install Skype and restart my computer. After that I did then it came again with the same error message. So, I decided to look it up to see if had happened to other people, and it had. So, I tried some of the suggestions that had worked for the person, and yet they did not work for me. Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

  • By using the system restore before computer restart after updating Windows 10...

I chose to try the upgrade of Windows 10 on my laptop primary.  Because of the long installation times, I started late in the evening then followed finishing (or almost) the update the next morning.  Until I sat down to 'start' I spoke with a friend who had just completed an installation of two heavy day of problems.    Although I am good enough to solve computer OS and software installation problems, I was very reluctant to go forward.   After serious soul searching I elected continue to use Windows 7, I don't really like.

That's why I chose to use the system restore before restarting my computer needed complete Windows Update 10.  I chose the previous restore point before the update of windows 10 and ran through the entire procedure and then restarted the computer after the restore point.

Everything worked fine and I was able to do the foregoing... Except that I can't do updates of security that have been uninstalled.   The Windows Update screen repeat "you must restart your computer...". "with the reboot by holding the active button.

This window doesn't go away even after reboot, and I can not "check for Updates".

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to reset this program if I can do all the updates except Windows 10 security.

    Thank you for any assistance.

By using the system restore before computer restart after updating Windows 10...

Sorry, System Restore does not cancel the major updates, that's why a lot of automatic updates delete all system restore points. The tool that is appropriate in this case would be a restore Image. If you have not created an image before the upgrade, then you are out of luck.

You can now restart your computer.

The start-up files [the operating system currently in use - 14.04.1 LTS Ubuntu] are far from the beginning of the disc. Your BIOS can't detect them. You can try again after you create a partition/Boot (EXT4, > 200 MB, beginning of the disc). This can be done via tools such as gParted. Then select this partition via the [separate/boot partition:] [Boot Repair] option. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootPartition)

    Hi Max,.

Using the restore disc, we can format Windows and we will be able to format the partition. However formatting Ubuntu can contact Ubuntu support forums http://community.ubuntu.com/contribute/support/ubuntu-forums/ since they will be able to guide you to the best.

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

  • HP Pavilion g6 (B1X18EA #ABH): switch to Internet does not work after update of 10 64-bit Windows

Today I updated my laptop Windows 7 to Windows Home 64 bit OS 10. Everything seems to work fine, except the WIFI. Windows can't find my card, but don't wake him. My button built-in wifi (f12) got a red light on the subject, even when I pressed it. I tried the buttons Windows 8 wireless driver, but I does not solve my problem. With this driver installed the button turn the power Modeavion. Not between WIFI. Also the wifi settings WIFi will go off. When I try to turn it on, it turn on directly to 'off '. Internet connection cable works flawless.

I gues it's a driver problem, so I was wondering if there is a next pilot? Or is there another way to turn it on.

Please help me. It is very annoying.

I've read som other forums and I came tot a solution:
    1. install Windows 8 button wireless driver
    2. perform a hard reset
    3. reboot the system
4 boot BIOS tot, load default values
    5. the wifi button works.

Honestly, for a machine that cost more than $2,000, it's amazing how slow the dev. drivers are available for Win 10, who is now out for a few months. I can't believe that manufactors can simply throw away such an important product updates as XPS 15 - which is still the flagship of laptops right now.

Everything worked smoothly, with gusto and incredibly well developed 8.1 to win, so I am confident, that there is no problems hardware but software - need drivers all updates in Win 10 same versions that were in Win 8.1.

For everyone else, do not upgrade to win 10 If you have a XPS15/9530 no matther what others or say Microsoft.

The most used video drivers such as:

    Best regards, pianist4Him.

In the case where anyone would ever bother to reach has reported to the R & D team (Dev), here are the details for the Intel video driver problem:

    Driver management concluded the process to install the driver kt108500.inf_amd64_f1e1486049a3f80f\kt108500.inf for ID Instance of device PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_0416 & SUBSYS_05FE1028 & REV_06\3 & 11583659 & 0 & 10 with the following status: 0x0

Uninstall, reboot and re - install - does not improve things.

In addition, the microphone is 10 times less sensitive with the Win 10 drivers who lack Equilizer and management focuscing for a microphone. that is, win 10 pilots look at like 2 or 3 version primar/Sour win 8.1 versions.

Long story short - I had only headaches since the upgrade to win 10 - for your good, if someone else was a XPS 15 9530, stick/a with Win 8.1 - it works like a charm and it's an incredible machine. Upgrade to win 10, now - stlil more than 6 months after, the drivers are a pain - as appropriate.
