Skype video crashes Windows 8.1

Hello

I have latest Skype and the latest video drivers and when I go to tools-> video, the entire system crashes (Windows 8.1) with strips of different colors on my screen. I have to restart the whole PC. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

D

Try to uninstall the currently installed version of Skype and install the previous 6.14.0.104 version by using the download links provided here:

  • Windows 8.1 RT Skype app crashes after sending a file

A friend tried to send me a file. I received a notification on the lockscreen. When I open Skype he went to the window of my friend. I tried to click on the file to receive it, but nothing worked. After a few seconds, Skype has minimized at bottom. I went to my Win 7 and got the file machine. Unfortunately, after that I could not discuss with this firend on my Surface. Whenever I received a msg from him and open Skype I could not answer, and the window is reduced after a few seconds. I ran some tests with another user and it turns out he gets not only minimized, it also loses the Internet connection. I uninstalled the app, restarted the Surface and reinstalled. Now my friend is "unlocked", I can discuss with him but when I try to send or receive a file Skype app crashes (reduced, lost connection). Newspapers to look like this:

    Hi Srt77,

    ·         Is - what your computer crash only with video calls or even though the cat?

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

First of all, try to update the drivers of webcam and check if it helps.

    1. click on Start

2 type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press on enter.

    3. right click the driver and choose the option to update.

    4. check if the problem persists.

Then look for the details of the event log in the observer of events and after return.

    1. open event Viewer by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, then double-click event Viewer . If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. click on a journal of the events in the left pane.

  • Skype video not working not

My camera guard deactivation in Skype. I join a call and all is well. I can see my videos of friends and everything, but when I enable my camera it seems to start loading, but after 5 secconds it disappears and the button greys out video. I have to restart the call to make it reappear. If you look at the screenshot I downloaded the camera seems to work fine in the menu options and when I saw it in chrome or on the camera in windows, it works too.

According to DxDiag file diagnostics, there is no ordinary webcam installed on your computer, but you have several virtual video capture devices, which are not compatible with Skype.

    Video Capture sources:

    DroidCam Source 3 0 x 00200000, 1, 2, ksproxy.ax, 10.00.10586.0063

    Video of SparkoCam source 0 x 0, 1, and 00200000 ksproxy.ax, 10.00.10586.0063

    SparkoCam virtual Webcam 0 x 00200000, 0, 1, SparkoCamFilter_x64.dll, 2.03.0009.0000

    XSplitBroadcaster 0 x 00200000, 0, 1, VHMediaCOM.dll, 2.00.0000.0487

You can uninstall these virtual video capture using this tool to VCamFix devices.

  • Skype does not in closing the program. (Skype 7.17 - Windows 10)

I used to have the problem where Skype will stop at random to answer when I tried to start, which would force me to close it with the Task Manager, then try again.
After a lot of fiddling around, update drivers, update of Internet Explorer (please kill me why is this one thing) and so on... I finally managed to get this problem to the most out of my life.
Now, still only a problem When I try to close the program (by right-clicking on the icon and "quit") it just does not... at all... Strangely it does not change the "not responding" mode, it's just... died. Even in taskmanager it does not show as a "no answer", but he acts as if nothing is wrong.

Here's what "solutions do not work:
    -Remove temporary files
    -deleting files appdata
    -do a clean reinstall
-addition of "'https://apps.skype.com ' on sites in IE 'internet options'"
-Remove "'https://apps.skype.com ' on sites in IE 'internet options'"
-closing all individually the program other than Skype and try again
-Deletes the registry values for Skype (it was my last resort)

NOTE: While looking through possible questions, I noticed that my Skype in the program compatibility mode is locked 'Windows Vista'... it is grayed out and cannot be changed, no matter what I try. Haven't found a solution for this yet (not even in safe mode).

The first thing to do is to identify the compatibility set to Skype options.

Right click on the shortcut on the desktop, select Properties, then the Compatibility tab.

Press the button "Change settings for all users" and disable the compatibility options in this tab

  • HP MediaSmart Webcam starts during Skype video chat

    HP HDX16t (HDX 16 t-1100-cto) laptop, windows vista 32-bit

webcam works fine with Skype, but whenever I run a Skype video conversation, the HP MediaSmart Webcam window appears.

It's really annoying, I kill him every time. Is it possible to configure HP MediaSmart Webcam do not start when I use the webcam for Skype. I don't see this option in the parameters of MediaSmarts.

    Thank you...

I had the same problem and I think that I have stopped running on the hp mediasmart webcam program every time Skype I videocall. In Skype (v4), I went to tools > options > video settings and there is a webcam selection menu. In this menu, I deselected HP MediaSmart Webcam who appeared there and chose HP Webcam. This seems to have done the trick.

    Good luck.

Original title: Crashing Windows 7: how to determine the cause?
    I have
had it happens x 3 now, so not a coincidence: I start, the computer seems fine, on the Win7Ult64bit welcome screen, it freezes my mouse will not move cannot type. I wait a bit, restart the computer on its own and usually * is able to connect properly thereafter. After login, Win7 Action Center message finally with a dmp file link. (And when I try to check for solutions, my computer is able to connect to the server to send the info... something wrong with the center of the action too.)

(* on the crash today, after the crash, reboot, connection, I could work for about 5 minutes before it froze again and I had to hit restart. "It's the first frost once inside my Windows account).
How to isolate the question crashing to fix?
The question in the homescreen can be a video card problem, according to Win7, and this is my last post for initial crash of today:

But I have my doubts on that. At least my latest driver nVidia update is buggy. No problems with it before.
My second crash today is not listed on the details page of the problem in the reliability monitor in Win7. So I don't know how to report more on this subject.
    Thanks for the tips!

After a week of no crashes, touch wood, even with all the official last summer startups and services running and using nvidia drivers, it's time to install the latest version of the drivers to see what happens...
